La Valencia Hotel

I found this beautiful hotel through their Instagram! Their Instagram page captures this special place so well but it is even more beautiful in person! Their hospitality is incredible and it was such a wonderful experience!!! So beautiful!

Beautiful hotel with fabulous views. Loved being so close to the ocean and shopping at the same time. Warm welcome from the staff at every encounter, especially the concierge Mark.
Food was really delicious and the pool was very relaxing. We will be back!

We loved the use of the e-bikes and of course the access to the water front.

Shraddha with the Concierge was the best. She was very professional, sweet and gave us the best recommendations for me and my friends to enjoy our stay. She also took our pictures and showed us around the lobby and amenities at La Valencia. We were greeted with champagne and cookies as we came in. Shraddha was such a great asset to the hotel and gave us such an amazing experience.

Paid for ocean view and got a view of hedge. The hotel moved us to ocean view room. The room had no fridge, flooded the bathroom. We received room service on first night - then didn’t received room service for nights 2 and 3. Checked with front desk and they said since they upgrade room we had to request room service. They upgraded to a room that we paid for and requested. Horrible customer service from management. Hotel staff has been awesome with the exception of the front desk.

Spa is outstanding. Kimberley and Lexi are top notch. Highly recommend visit

We stayed in a suite by the pool area and thoroughly enjoyed the room, with its close proximity to the pool and the cove. The staff was very accommodating and provided rides up and down the street in the golf cart so we could visit local restaurants, as my husband has difficulty walking. We ate several times at the hotel restaurant and always received excellent food and service. I felt it was good value for all that we enjoyed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We came to La Jolla to see a couple colleges, celebrate an anniversary and enjoy a relaxing few days along the Pacific Coast. La Valencia exceeded all expectations. Just a wonderful, relaxed vibe. The hotel is a classic in the truest sense of the word. There's a nostalgic charm around every corner here. We stayed in The Valencia Suite and couldn't get enough of the wraparound balcony and fireplace. Just absolutely stunning views, partiularly at sunset, creating a perfect backdrop for morning coffee and evening wine. The pool area is, again, a throwback and is a must-see. As with everything else, it maintains a nostalgic vibe but with all amenities updated. The staff has been absolutely superb in all facets - would like to express gratitude to all, particularly the bar staff on Monday night, who went above and beyond to get us wine a few minutes after they had started to close up. Couldn't recommend La Valencia more.

WATCH OUT PRICELINE MEMBERS/ 3rd party Bookings!! Hotel DID NOT HONOR BOOKING I HAD MADE VIA PRICELINE. Manager Ana Benzinger did not honor the room I had paid which was an Ocean King Room. She said hotel was full and could not give me the room I had already paid for via Priceline. She said I would have to deal with the 3rd party Priceline for any refunds. Which was untrue after speaking with Priceline, they told me hotel has to issue a refund and reason why they did not honor the room I had paid for. Hotel submits report in order for the adjustments to be made. I have never had a bad experience or been treated so inconsiderate in all my travel years. Manager Benzinger was so dismissive and rude. I had heard good things about this place. Boy my mind has changed! Off with a bad start to my Spring Break. UNHAPPY WORLD TRAVELER. STAY AWAY!

Our girls trip to La Valencia was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the service, atmosphere, and attention to detail were next level. The hotel itself is stunning—classic, elegant, and perfectly located with breathtaking ocean views. Every space felt special, from the beautiful pool area to the charming rooms and incredible dining.

But the real highlight of our stay was Shraddha, the concierge. She truly made the entire experience extraordinary. From the moment we met her, she treated us like absolute royalty. She went above and beyond to help us plan the perfect girls trip—securing reservations, sharing amazing recommendations, and making sure every detail of our stay was seamless.

What stood out most was how genuinely warm and thoughtful she was. You could tell she truly cared that we had an incredible time, and she made us feel so welcomed and taken care of the entire trip.

La Valencia is already a beautiful, iconic hotel, but people like Shraddha are what make it truly exceptional. We left already talking about when we can come back.

There’s no other hotel quite like La Valencia. We’ve been coming here for years and each time is special. This elegant pink hotel is gorgeous from the lush grounds to the luxe rooms. And my favorite part of the hotel is the beautiful pool area run by Mike the bartender, whose gracious and friendly hospitality makes every stay special. The location is perfect, right across from the beach and within walking distance to cute shops and wonderful restaurants. Highly recommend!

We stayed in a fantastic suite with an even better ocean view after having been upgraded free of charge. Very nice traditional luxury vibe.

After careful research we selected La Valencia Hotel as our property to host 25 women for a theater and food themed weekend in La Jolla. It was the perfect choice and our main contact Cesar was a DREAM to work with, The property is as stunning as the location we were visiting. The flowers! The walkways that wind through the property. Access to the coastline is easy and the views from the property were gorgeous. Everyone loved gathering for breakfast on the outdoor patio to get us fuel for our day. Thoughtfully Cesar suggested we use The Med Patio as our meet up spot for our various departure times. Was perfect! And spacious and convivial. We were there to see a show about Julia Child so of course we had to include a cooking class as one of our activities. Cesar put us in the perfect spot - in the ballroom with a seaside terrace. Ample space for the group to gather, cook, and enjoy our meal together. A memorable evening in a memorable space. Thank you Cesar and the entire staff at La Valencia Hotel. We had a GRAND time.

Fantastic girls getaway, gorgeous property, great location, wonderful room. However, what made the stay truly memorable was the gracious hospitality of concierge, Shraddha Carlin. She started our trip with a warm welcome and celebratory glass of champagne and continued to extend genuine, caring, knowledgeable hospitality throughout our stay!

Shraddha was amazing and left us with a memorable experience. She showed us all of the amenities that La Valencia had to offer and made us feel so welcomed. The rooms were breathtaking and can't wait to come back to visit the property.

Get a room with ocean views. Can’t beat the location. Wonderful, friendly service. Beautiful pool and comfy loungers. Steps from La Jolla Cove and all the restaurants and shops on Girard, etc. very efficient valet. Rooms are a bit worn and overall wear on resort due to oceanfront location likely, but still made for a comfortable, lovely getaway.

This was the worst stay I have ever had at a hotel that charged such a high price per night. You are absolutely paying solely for the location and that is absolutely it. Our room had a broken AC, and we had to be moved to a super loud room. Rooms are all old, musty smelling, dirty, old/loud ACs, very LOUD. We came for a relaxing vacation and couldn't get any sleep whatsoever. Loud live music at night, loud cars, loud people passing by, can hear the people above you even using the bathroom - omg never ever ever ever again. Stay from hell.

La Valencia’s history is really the standout. Very 1920's the moment you walk in; older architecture, vintage details, and a kind of old‑school La Jolla charm that’s hard to find anywhere else. The views over the Cove add to it, and the whole property has this relaxed, timeless vibe. The pool and common areas keep that same character, and the staff is friendly and easy to work with. It’s just a cool, historic spot in a great location.
