Amazing experience, Michael took very good care of us! The perfect meal, view, service!

I chose this hotel out of nostalgia, and the hotel didn’t disappoint. It is expensive, but I found the property to be very well maintained and the staff first rate in friendliness and competence. A special shout goes out to the concierge Mark who provided a sweet surprise for my husband’s birthday and gave us excellent tips for restaurants. Our room was comfortable and for the most part quiet, the exception being early morning when delivery and trash trucks navigated Prospect St. (ask for a room facing the garden rather than the street). The Thursday jazz/swing jam in the courtyard was great fun.

Beautiful setting, everything clean and so comfy. Staff were lovely.

My sister celebrated her 50th birthday with a stay at La Valencia. I contacted the hotel to arrange a birthday surprise for her and had an amazing experience with the concierge on duty. Shradda was kind, friendly and extremely helpful. She suggested a nice bottle of bubbly and arranged for a stunning floral arrangement to be in her room upon arrival. We had a bit of back and forth as I am out of state and was traveling at the time but Shradda was a great communicator and was very patient with me. I am so grateful to her for helping to make my sister’s birthday so special.

The location is the main reason for choosing the hotel. It’s close proximity to all the restaurants and shops. The cove is across the street.

Michael was the best server I’ve had here. He is always so polite and professional. He is attentive and great. I come here so much because of him.

The place is beautiful and kept immaculately. The staff were friendly and attentive.

You can't go wrong staying here. Perfect La Jolla location--you can walk to the Cove, nearby beaches, shops and restaurants. Hotel has great pool and spa on the property. Friendly helpful staff for us who live nearby but especially for visitors from afar! I love hearing the sea lions and seagulls in the early morning!

Amazing location, service, and views. I loved looking out my window to the ocean, walking down to the sea lion pups, and exploring the ample options of amazing food all around.

The hotel is almost a century old. With that it has a classic style. Located on a hill adjacent to the ocean the views are remarkable. Loved the dinners overlooking the courtyard and ocean. The best part was the friendly and attentive staff.

Be very very careful -they overcharge. Illfor extra days and so the hotel doesn’t do a nose dive into hell,they need to get rid of William ,the professed manager who is horribly rude. The good news is there are so many crest hotels nearby

Our stay at the La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla was extremely disappointing, especially given that we were in town for our child’s medical treatment.

The most frustrating part was the complete lack of customer service. Over the last two weeks, I have repeatedly requested to speak with a supervisor regarding multiple concerns, yet no one has ever returned my calls. Each time I contact the hotel, I am told no one is available to assist me, and my issues remain unresolved.

We also experienced repeated billing discrepancies, including being charged for multiple vehicles when we only had one. In addition, we were given inconsistent information regarding room rates and pricing.

The condition of the room was also concerning. There was a persistent mold and mildew smell, visible green buildup on the shower heads, and housekeeping entered the room to clean while I was still in the shower, which felt like a serious invasion of privacy.

For a property that markets itself as a luxury hotel, the level of service, communication, cleanliness, and guest care fell far below expectations. Unfortunately, what should have been a supportive stay during a difficult time became an added source of stress.

I really can’t say enough great things about this hotel and my stay. I was especially blown away by the service from the front desk and bell teams. Also need to recognize Mike at the pool who was extremely attentive. Will definitely be coming back!

This was our first stay at La Valencia Hotel, and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel is beautiful, impeccably maintained and perfectly located.
The highlight of our stay was the exceptional staff. From the moment we arrived, someone was there to assist with our luggage, the front desk check-in process was seamless and our bags were promptly delivered to our beautiful ocean-view room.
The restaurants offered amazing food! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and attentive!
A special thank you to Shraddha Carlin, the concierge, who truly made our stay memorable. Her professionalism, extensive knowledge of the area, attention to detail, and wonderful sense of humor did not go unnoticed! She created us every morning and was always available throughout the day with recommendations, assistance, and a smile!
We had an amazing experience and will definitely be returning to La Valencia Hotel on our next visit to La Jolla. Highly recommended!!

Our stay at La Valencia was nothing short of incredible. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and had a timeless charm that made our weekend feel truly special.

What really set this experience apart was the outstanding service. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. I want to give a BIG SHOUTOUT to Mark, Shraddha, and the entire concierge team. They helped coordinate my proposal and put so much care into every detail. The room was beautifully decorated and they made our milestone even more memorable than we could have imagined.

They helped create a moment that my fiancée and I will remember for the rest of our lives. We will absolutely be back and will always have a special place in our hearts for La Valencia.

My wife and I had a great experience at the hotel. The accommodations were awesome with great service oriented staff.
The concierge Shraddha was incredible with her awesome people skills and treated us like family !
