Riverside Hotel

Location

We continue to book our stays in Fort Lauderdale with the Riverside Hotel. It never disappoints us and the location is perfect for walking to restaurants and accessing the boat taxis. The staff is consistant and friendly. That says much about hte management to us. The room refresh is lovely as well.

This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Las Olas. The property is beautiful and the views are gorgeous. The pool and one of the restaurants overlook the Intercostal. The other restaurant overlooks the boulevard. The staff at the front desk are amazing. The only issue is a lack of hospitality by the bartenders, which I found odd. Everything else made for a perfect stay!

I had lunch with my local friends (8 of us) at the Riverside bar, where we were served by Debra, long time manager and bar tender . The service was outstanding !
We were also greeted by Heiko Dobrikow, general manager, who entertained us with stories of his recent travels.

Ace provided great service to me and she is the greatest.

5 STAR SERVICE FROM ALFREDO AT THE VALET DESK. I got all the way to the airport only to learn that I left my luggage at the hotel. Alfredo searched high and low. He Found it! And is helping me get it back home. He was so efficient and professional and made sure to follow up. HIVE THIS GIY A PROMOTION!

Location is excellent

In the beginning, many years ago, we were looking for an interesting place to stay in Fort Lauderdale Florida and we selected The Riverside Hotel. We were not disappointed with the hotel, the location and the history. Since that first visit we have stayed at the Riverside Hotel every time that we have visited Fort Lauderdale, usually as part of a cruise vacation. This hotels location in Fort Lauderdale provides easy walking access to interesting dining, shopping and the river walk along the New River. The Riverside Hotel has several venues for food and drinks with excellent staff, selections, and environments. We especially enjoy the patio off the lobby that I refer to as the 'Bamboo Garden'. The rooms are always clean and inviting no matter in the original 1936 section or the newer tower. We have found the staff, across the board, to be friendly and helpful.

Convenient location

There is so much to write about this crappy hotel. Very expensive with thin sheets and terrible pillows. A/c where the choice was frigid or off. Piano player that was terrible but very loud in the lobby so you had to scream to check in. And generally run down (the gym was fine). The people who answer the phone (2 South Africans) were beyond stupid. Couldn’t literally add a name to my room reservation on the first 3 calls. Front desk at night check in was unfriendly. And a very old clientele.

Stayed one night for a cruise. The staff was unbelievable. So friendly and helpful. Teneus knew us all by name. He helped with luggage; even went across the street and made us dinner reservations at a restaurant. Best service ever!! Beautiful hotel!!

Riverside is our favorite hotel in Ft Lauderdale, great location on Las Olas with many fine restaurants and shopping in easy walking distance. Water taxi stop #1 only a few steps away. The hotel is an easy uber ride from FLL and short ride to the cruise port. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and truly strive to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Restaurants on site are excellent and service is great. Love sitting at the bar or on the dock at the Boathouse watching the boat and yacht traffic on the river. Pool area is very nice and again pretty much right at the river. Outside seating on the patio in the bamboo grove was a very nice quiet spot to enjoy as well. Balcony rooms in the tower on the west side gave nice views of the city and the river.
Alan at the front desk was extremely helpful, personable, and welcoming. His friendly demeanor and helpfulness made us feel immediately at home and comfortable. We arrived to check in early and he personally called us to let us know when our room was ready.
Cynthia in the housekeeping was so friendly and helpful even though she was NOT assigned to our room. She went out of her way to be helpful and friendly.
Bryon and Neville in Wild Sea provided outstanding service with friendly interactive conversation well beyond simply taking orders and delivering food. They both brightened our mornings and we looked forward to seeing them each day.
Nico at the bar in the Boathouse was outstanding. He was friendly, professional and a pleasure to interact with.
And lastly, but certainly not least, Alba in the convenience shop is a gem. She is friendly, always a smile, and helpful beyond the walls of her shop. We found ourselves stopping to chat regularly even when we didn’t need to purchase anything. Very convenient to have a nice little shop in the lobby with such a wonderfully friendly person helping folks who came in.

I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Riverside Hotel in the heart of the tourist area of Fort Lauderdale. The room with a King size bed had all the amenities anyone would want. The staff were excellent and most helpful. There were great restaurants (Louis Bosse) of all types to satisfy anyone's appetite. Close by is a River Cruise line which I recommend taking. All in all, I had a great time at this hotel and the surrounding area.

Period charm, great lobby with fireplaces. Able to dine in multiple venues within the hotel building.

I had a great stay at the Riverside as usual. I have been coming before and after a cruise. The checking staff is wonderful and so helpful, as are the waitstaff in the restaurants and the ladies who clean the rooms! It is always a welcome back home when I arrive!
