This used to be my favorite hotel in all of Philadelphia. I stayed here several times a year when visiting friends and family in the area. However, this stay was not great. The furniture was so dingy and banged up. Then, we had a leak in the bathroom. It is probably because they plan to remodel and have changed hands to Marriott. I personally hate Marriott so I am now done with The Warwick. We had a good run.
Furniture was chipped, damaged, and overall worn. Toilet leaked on floor. Taken over by Marriott which is a chain I dislike 👎
Mediocre at Best! Once we arrived, we found out that the hotel is getting ready for renovations. That wasn’t really the issues. With snow and ice a week after the storm, there was barely a 18” wide path to get out of a car to the sidewalk and steps. The bellman gets to you after you are almost to or from the Lyft. The rug in front of the elevator gets stuck in the wheels of the luggage, thus a safety issue. Really the issues beyond dated and tired are those of safety for an elderly or handicapped guest. Combined that with the main restaurant not being opened on Mondays, and that is why we stayed there not to have to get out except for a doctor’s visit. At the point we learned that prior to check in, we couldn’t cancel without penalty.
Bottom line, it may become worthy of Marriott Brand status, but not at this time.
This hotel is a worn out dump. I hadn’t stayed here for several years because of that fact and despite it having a fantastic location. Furniture is worn out with desk top wood bubbling and cracking, panels falling off the walls, etc., plus it is pretty dirty everywhere you look. However, Marriott bought the property and they claim on their website the place has been thoroughly renovated, new rooms, etc., etc., etc. They’ve been saying that for a year or two now, so I finally decided to try the place again thinking Marriott is a reputable company so it must be true. Nope. They flat out lied about everything. NOT A SINGLE ROOM HAS BEEN RENOVATED. How do I know? Because the front desk told me so. Plus, now the gym is unavailable as the equipment is all out of order, BUT it is being renovated as well. DO NOT STAY HERE. Marriott is lying, this place has not and is not being renovated and it genuinely is the exact same worn out s—thole (worn out, broken, dirty, etc., everywhere) it was several years ago, only worse now because it is several years older. I won’t trust Marriott again, and shame on me for ignoring all the negative reviews about this hotel on their own website!
The location is perfect
They took away all of the original aesthetics, placed it with modern. But I understand their remodeling, even the rooms which desperately need it.
Location
Ceiling was cracking
Rug was dirty
Rust on the drain in the bathroom
Chipped/marked up furniture
Clean and well located
Shower was cold each morning
No breakfast
Good location
Bath dub backing up when showering
Ice machine broken
No cable
The location was convenient.
The furniture was worn in the lobby and room, scraped and with stuffing coming out. The carpet was filthy! The towels were stained and mismatched! The bathroom was very cramped.
The lobby was beautiful.
Good location.
The room was sub par.
The room did not look like the picture.
Toiletries were small and not enough for 2 people. Bathroom was dated and the patch job in the shower was horrible.
Also, 50.00 dollars for parking was insane. You spend a lot of money to stay at the hotel and parking can not even be included?
Lovation was decent, staff was nice, coffee shop was really good
Place was completely run down in my opinion (except for the lobby, which was super nice!), the rooms were so shabby, the bathrub was peeling paint, the beds were so old and springy, the furnture old. For what was paid per night, it was def not what I expected at all. It was clean, but I will find another place next time.
Location
The room
Bathroom was a mess and the ceiling too
The location and nothing more
I recently stayed at The Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse Square and encountered a number of serious issues that I believe fall well below expected standards.
1. Room Condition: My assigned room was severely outdated: the furniture appeared dilapidated and poorly repaired, the bed linens did not properly fit the mattress, and the ceiling displayed obvious water damage. Overall, the room’s condition did not reflect the quality promised by the hotel.
2. Fire Alarm Evacuation & Staff Response: On the morning of [insert date], around 9:00 a.m., a fire alarm blared across the building, prompting an evacuation. The fire exits were not clearly marked, and—most concerning—the lobby staff provided no guidance or explanation. There was no communication about whether there was an actual emergency, nor instructions on where or when guests could return safely. The complete lack of professionalism and communication was alarming and unacceptable under any circumstances.
3. Parking on your website states parking costs $50 and I was charged $75
Given these circumstances — particularly the safety issue and poor facility maintenance — I expect that this matter will be reviewed thoroughly. I request a prompt investigation and a fair resolution.
I appreciate your prompt attention to these serious concerns.
Good location but didn’t know of the buyout
Evening desk clerk on Thursday late afternoon- very rude and no nameplate worn
This hotel was recently added to the Marriott portfolio. We checked in without knowing it was being renovated. It was indeed in need of renovation. The lobby area is terrific but the rooms themselves are dated and cramped. Would not recommend this place until completion of work. The best thing about it is the proximity to Rittenhouse Square, shops, restaurants, etc. James at the front desk was helpful taking care of a problem with cold water in our shower. And Steve the bellman was a gentleman and helpful as well.
