Great staff in the breakfast restaurant and at the bar. Very helpful with allergies.
A little overpriced compared to the other hotels in the area. I made a mistake and for the price I could have stayed at a better hotel.
very clean and easy to navigate
nothing!
Location
Worn, aged. Faulty and noisy air conditioning. Dirty bathroom—used dental floss on faucet.
What a total gem of a hotel!!! Clean, comfortable, quiet and centrally located for easy access to Thousand Oaks, Westlake, and outlying areas. A hotel with reliable, working, EV Chargers was an added plus. A nice little bar, lounge, reading areas, and coffee shop made this super nice. Also a staff that goes out of their way to make everything special and perfect.
Very nice hotel, even better service. Stayed here on multiple occasions in the past 6 months and I have been extended all the globalist perks including suite upgrades, early and late check ins, and complimentary breakfast. The location is quite even though its right off the freeway with ample parking and a great restaurant. The property feel like its outside the city yet close enough to get everywhere.
I recently stayed at the Hyatt Westlake Village in April and wanted to share feedback regarding my experience, as well as follow up on an unresolved issue. While the property presents well from the outside, my stay did not meet expectations for a Hyatt property at this price point.
First, I was disappointed with the overall professionalism and presentation at the front desk upon arrival. At this rate and brand level, I expect staff to present a polished and professional appearance. Unfortunately, the front desk employee I encountered appeared unkempt, including disheveled hair and poorly maintained fingernails, which detracted from the overall impression of the property.
More importantly, I experienced a significant service disruption during my stay. Guests were notified that water would be shut off between 11:00 PM and 3:00 AM for maintenance. However, by 7:00 AM the following morning, water service had still not been restored. As a result, I was unable to shower, brush my teeth, or use restroom facilities before leaving for work. This created a serious inconvenience.
I was informed that I would receive 10,000 World of Hyatt points as compensation for the disruption. It has now been over seven days, and I have yet to receive those points.
I chose Hyatt expecting a consistent and high-quality experience, and I hope this matter can be resolved promptly.
We stayed here while trying to make a small staycation out of my husband’s work trip, booking what we thought would be a “nice” room close to his job location. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing-especially traveling with a baby.
I do want to note that the staff - from valet to the front desk to the restaurant - were all very kind, professional, and pleasant to interact with. That was appreciated.
However, the room itself was not sanitary or properly maintained. The bathroom sink didn’t drain and backed up with debris, and the water never got hot, making it impossible to properly clean baby bottles. We had to find workarounds just to manage basic hygiene.
Cleanliness throughout the room was a major concern. The coffee pot clearly had not been cleaned between guests- dirt and grime came out when we used it to boil water. The ice bucket also had mildew and dirt inside. The floors were extremely dirty, and once the beds shifted even slightly, debris from underneath spread across the room, leaving our feet covered in dirt.
Air quality was also an issue. The allergens in the room were noticeably high, causing both my baby and husband to have trouble breathing comfortably. On top of that, the windows are not soundproof at all - it sounded like landscaping work was happening right inside the room. The room phone didn’t work either, so we had to rely on our cell phones.
Another safety concern was one of the elevators (the far-right one), which appeared to be malfunctioning. When I stepped in, it had not leveled with the floor - I almost tripped because there was an unexpected step down of at least 6 inches. The elevator was noticeably not flush with the hotel floor, which is a serious safety hazard, especially when carrying a baby. We were actually nervous as we pushed the button to go down.
We also dined at the hotel restaurant and had a very disappointing meal. I ordered the filet mignon and was told it was a great choice. I requested it medium, but it came out rare and extremely difficult to cut. I politely asked for it to be cooked a bit longer, and it came back completely well-done. The steak quality was poor at that point, the vegetables were not good, and the presentation was lacking - very disappointing for a $50 plate.
Overall, this was not a comfortable or enjoyable stay. I honestly could not wait to get back home, which is unfortunate because we were really looking forward to making this a nice staycation. This hotel is not ideal for families, especially those traveling with a baby.
**I should have taken more photos - I only captured one of the dirt after stepping in a literal pile of it.**
Stay Away From This Property @ Any Cost. It’s cheap & does not deserve the Regency label. Right from discourteous front desk to cleanliness of rooms & air systems - Worst Ever !!
Cheap by all standards !!
Hyatt is always great! Helpful, polite staff, very comfortable bed and bed pillows. I always sleep so well in a Hyatt Hotel.
I loved this hotel. It was my first time here so I didn't have any expectations. I was only in town for one night for a birthday party but wished I could have stayed another! Very peaceful with water features throughout the property, friendly staff and wonderful lush grounds. Would come back just to relax for a staycation.
The Hyatt Regency Westlake is a beautiful and CLEAN hotel. The staff was exceptional and friendly in every interaction.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Westlake while organizing a and friends gathering in the area. Coordinating travel, rooms, and schedules for a big group can be stressful, but Christina (with a K) made the entire experience feel manageable from the moment we arrived.
She greeted us with genuine warmth and quickly understood what we were trying to accomplish. What stood out most was how clearly she explained everything. She gave us straightforward guidance about the rooms, upgrades, and logistics so we always felt in control of the situation. For an event with many moving parts, that kind of clarity makes a real difference.
I work in IT, so I pay attention to systems and process. Christina immediately understood the practical side of what we needed and helped us think through the details in a calm and organized way. It was efficient, thoughtful service, and it felt very human.
People like Christina are what make a hotel memorable. Her professionalism, patience, and kindness reflect very well on the Hyatt team. If the rest of the organization carries the same spirit she brings to her work, guests will always feel well taken care of.
Thank you, Christina, for helping make a complicated trip feel easy.
Very helpful and high quality. Staff was more than helpful. Easy. Access . Restaurants and shopping near by. Clean and spotless.
Awesome 🌴 I have an amazing time every time I come here for work with Guitar Center. Got a lot of use out of the pool and fire pits!
I stayed at this hotel for business. One night late in the evening it was raining and the power went out, briefly came back on and then went out again for several hours. Hotel administrator announced through a loudspeaker that this is due to a "City-wide power outage". The Internet was not working as well. In addition, I was very noisy well after eleven PM, but nothing was done to enforce "after 10 pm quiet time"
My colleagues stayed in another hotel near by, and there was no power outage in their hotel...
When I complained to the administrator the next day she did not make any attempts to apologize and when I told her that next time I will not stay at Hyatt, she simply stated: "You are welcome"...
