fantastic location, ive stayed here twice. you can easily walk to japan town, coffee, food, etc.

Great location in a victorian Grande Dame
Pros:

Great location in lower pacific heights within walking distance of big choice of restaurants and bars (we walked to Polk Street every evening). I enjoyed walking the neighbourhood loooking at the old houses and it felt very safe. Well renovated victorian Grande Dame, but decor is of the style so don't expect modern. We walked from the hotel to the wharf (took about an hour with Lombard street on the way); easy to get buses to downtown shopping and finance district and make connections to the wharf from outside hotel (no. 2 bus stops outside and runs whole length of Sutter Street). Breakfast was good enough: hot options plus waffles and bagels. Tea and coffee on tap 24 hours in lounge, plus complementary cookies and sherry between 4 and 6pm was very welcome.

Cons:

No tea and coffee facilities, or fridge in the room so had to come downstairs in my PJs to get my early morning coffee.

Overall a very solid stay and would stay here again for the price. Also love the character and charm of this hotel.
Pros:

Loved that they provided breakfast, cookies and sherry, and a very comfortable bed.

Cons:

Not many amenities in the room. No ac or heating unit. No mini fridge to store our leftover food.

Quaint hotel in a good location.
Pros:

The staff greeted us, and there was a warm ambiance with fireplaces in the lobby. There was sherry and cookies, along with breakfast. The bed was comfortable, and it is in a lovely neighborhood with a parking lot. Quaint hotel in a good location.

Cons:

The only reason I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 is because there was only a table/nightstand next to the bed on one side. With two people in the bed, we need a nightstand on both sides of the bed.

The hotel has a beautiful, old world, welcoming feel to it and we will definitely be back.
Pros:

Staying at the Queen Anne is like stepping back time. Beautiful, sumptuous furnishings, little nooks that you can hide away in with a good book and a complimentary sherry to finish off a busy day. A generous continental breakfast is included which was delicious. We had an Executive Suite which was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was a good size. The location was good, very close to Japantown, a bit of a walk into the centre but plenty of public transport available if you don’t like walking. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The hotel needs a bit of tlc. The carpet in our room needed replacing or, at least, shampooing and the elevator carpet was thread bare in a couple of places. Neither of these things would prevent us from staying again.

we enjoyed, yet we had to compromise
Pros:

Lobby looks unique, beautiful and special ("victorian style"). Very good and pleasant service. Clean. Nearby parking, reasonable price.

Cons:

Simple breakfast, like in many California hotels. The furniture in the room is in the same style at in the lobby but it means old, doors and drawers sometimes open by themselves. We didn't have enough space for clothes for several days trip for 2 people. Not enough power sockets.
