Great hotel in good location and good value for money
Pros:

Immaculate hotel, high standard of cleanliness, good value for money. Staff were all professional, very helpful and friendly. The gentleman hosting in the Peranaken lounge was lovely, friendly and welcoming. Jey and Nisa on reception were great, and the lady servicing our room always left it immaculate for us.
Shower was hot but only tepid water from the sink taps, and the basin plug leaked - just small things.
We had bed & breakfast for 3 days - food was good but not quite hot enough for us. Room service was good & that food was hot.
We didn't use the gym or pool but would have done if we'd had more time - looked good.
Getting about was easy - we used the MRT trains and got a 3 day visitors pass which was great value for money. Katong was good to explore as well.
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely book at the Village Katong next time we travel to Singapore - we'd definitely recommend it!

Pros:

Very close to MRT so easy access to all areas. Hotel room was clean and comfortable and staff were exceptionally helpful. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices on offer. Freshly made omelettes available if required.

Cons:

Only a couple of little things - the shower was hot, but the sink taps didn't run any hot water. The sink also leaked (room 621), so it emptied all the time and didn't hold water.

Hyvä aamiainen, eurooppalaiseen makuun vaihtoehtoja myös. Parveke oli kiva lisä. Lentokentälle kohtuullinen matka. Pieni ostoskeskus ihan vieressä. Hiljainen ympäristö.

Ystävällinen henkilökunta ja lyhyt matka lentokentältä. Lähellä east-cost parkia ja Joo Chiat -aluetta. Lähistöllä paljon ravintoloita. Huoneet eivät enää ihan uusia, mutta oikein siistejä. Uima-allas ok.

Really helpful staff, arranged taxi and always good for local advice

Cons:

Finding out how great the area at the rear of the hotel was when it was time to leave.
I recommend waking through little shopping mall and trying the restaurants and coffee shops along the road. Lovely feel to the area and more authentic than the main tourist spots.

Pros:

The location of this hotel is great. Very close to Joo Chiat road. Half way between the airport and the main built up city area. In the more traditional Singapore history area. The hotel foyer is very spacious, clean, with a calming atmosphere to greet you after your journey to Singapore. But dont be fooled by the relaxed atmosphere. The staff here are wonderful. We were greeted by JEY at reception, very attentive to our needs. As we arrived mid morning this time from Australia. He was so very pleasant to talk with helping us to check in. Made us feel very welcome, great front line customer service. He was able to assist us in getting into our room earlier, very much appreciated.

Only 5 minutes walk out the foyer from the hotel, will have you at marine terrace MRT on the brown line.
There is a large shop at ground level for groceries or day to day items, some other speciality shops in the lower level. A great massage place in the corner near the escalator to relax at. When we come back to Singapore this will be our first choice of hotel and location.
