switch off the aircon, the room is wet, to keep room dry, aircon needs to run on full blast. we lived in neighbouring hotels like Grand mercier Roxy, holiday inn, etcetera, none had this problem.
The staff were incredible, helpful, friendly and accommodating. From reception, house keeping, to the staff at the restaurant, we thought so highly of them all. The true assets of the business.
Very close to the MRT and to buses to get you around Singapore. So many shops and malls to choose from located at and around the hotel. Within walking distance to some local attractions.

Great spot, little bit tired but very comfy.
Everything but the breakfast which was substandard. Badly organised and the quality of the food and choices were not what we had expected. That was the only flaw of this lovely hotel in my view.
Quality and options at breakfast.
There is a lot to love about the property. The room size is excellent with plenty of storage available, and it comes equipped with everything I need, including an ironing board. The location is perfect for my needs; I stay in this area of Singapore for a very specific reason, so having the Brown Line just outside to quickly reach the main shopping districts is incredibly convenient. Plus, Joo Chiat is such a lovely, charming neighborhood to explore.
Unfortunately, the administrative side of my stay fell short. At check-in, I was informed of an upcoming electricity shutdown and internet downtime. While maintenance happens, this should have been communicated before my arrival. As a frequent traveler, I found the compensation, a note and cookies to be entirely inadequate for losing power and Wi-Fi. That said, Mr. Singh at reception was great and did his best to assist. Sadly, other desk staff lacked that hospitality mindset; when I asked to borrow a pair of scissors, the clerk was incredibly reluctant and repeatedly argued they only had one pair, even after I promised to return them within the hour. It’s a great hotel structurally, but management needs to improve communication and staff training.
I have stayed a number of times, the location suits as it is close to the airport and reasonably close to city centre. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and well maintained.
The wi fi could be improved. Although it is free it is not high speed. I would be happy to pay a little extra for better wi fi.

Nice and helpful staff. Close to MRT, buses, shops and restaurants. Calm and quiet at night.

The automatic tap in the bathroom sink was quite annoying.
The hotel is difficult to enter by foot (and with luggage) when arriving from the south side.
We stay at the Village Hotel Katong every time we fly to Singapore so have stayed here on about 8 occasions. The staff are always so helpful and on this occasion we had asked to be able to check in early as our flight arrived at 09.30 and they were able to do this for us and at no extra charge so we really appreciated this. The room was better than any we had stayed in before too. This is a fantastic place to stay as there is a supermarket downstairs, and a couple of cafes and restaurants. Also you can just walk through the supermarket into the main street of Katong which is full of wonderful Singaporean restaurants and has a fantastic real Singapore atmosphere. You can also walk to East Coast Park which is a lovely place for a stroll along the coast in beautifully kept gardens. There is a brand new shopping mall across the road too.
Good location—close to the airport, quiet inside, and with a mini supermarket downstairs.
The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the staff (particularly Malcolm) are very friendly.
Beakfest is included with the accommodation, and the buffet has lots of variety.

Fantastic support from the staff, particularly Hairi who was so helpful when we came back to pick up our suitcases that we had left in storage at end of our day exploring Singapore. We were also given access to the gym for a last shower before heading to the airport. And he kindly organise a taxi for us.
Incredible breakfast spread too!
And a 5 min walk to the metro station. Super easy to navigate to the hotel. Lovely pool, it was apleasure to take a dip after a very warm day in town.
