I didn't get to stay the night I'm actually asked for a refund and have not received my refund when we got there the lady said that she did not have a reservation but I found out she did she had just submitted it early that we had not arrived.
I did not like this one bit as I spent 85 Plus dollars and could not afford it.
I want my refund and I believe I should have had it a while ago.
Location. Close to anything you might need.
Hotel was dirty and room was infested with cockroaches.
The price was ok the staff is ok but room was unkept . There is roaches and in kitchen drawers and mice holes under the kitchen sink
room was unkept . There is roaches in kitchen drawers as well as under the sink making it difficult to eat with any utensils as well dead roaches on top of the fridge, upper cabinets, lower cabinets randomly on the carpet the more I looked the worst it was by far the worst part I found a fentanyl pill along the floorboard of the cabinet in the kitchen. Now the first night we were we really weren’t here all that much. We pretty much slept and that was it . the bed was a little messed up. Didn’t think that was enough of a reason to make too much fuss now the second night we went and got some groceries being there was a kitchenette and that’s when we started to discover stuff as we’re putting things away, but it was fairly late in the evening and so we decided not to raise too much of a fuss at night and figured it would be more courteous to address it first thing in the morning, which is what we did around 7 o’clock they said that they would get back to me, but they never did so after waiting a while and nearing checkout time I decided to finally bring it to their attention and I didn’t go up there disrespectful or making any demands for my money back or for account credits or any of that I just simply said that I wanted to switch rooms and if thru could work with me on the rate considering I did pay for two nights. And I feel I didn’t really get my moneys worth or the experience. I was looking for he said well you should’ve said something earlier you ain’t right until it’s time for you to check out and then you wanna say something so it don’t look good that’s when I try to explain to him that we didn’t notice most of these things. The first night.wasn’t until the second that we got groceries and started putting them away did we notice?overall just really just disatisfied with my stay
And their resolution to the issues
I've stayed here twice before. The first time, I had a bad experience, but management was very responsive and helpful, so I gave them another shot the following year. The second visit went okay. My third and most recent visit was almost as bad as the first. And the biggest problem this time is, management has failed to respond to my issue after sending two separate emails and mentioning my concerns to the front desk staff at check-in.
This is a three-floor hotel. Regardless, I always put in the special requests form when booking directly via the Choice Hotels website that I'd like a first floor room. This is due to a significant amount of gear and food I carry with me. Steps are no fun when you're carrying a lot of stuff. But, if I'm on the first floor or there's an elevator, it's not a problem. I will almost always follow up that online request with a phone call the morning of my first night to confirm that a first floor room has been reserved for me.
When I called, they said the hotel was fully booked, but they would do what they could to get me on the first floor. I asked if the elevator was working, because it wasn't during my first stay a few years ago, but was the second time I stayed. I was told that it was not working now, either. Fast forward following my 8.5-hour drive and surprise, surprise, I had been put on the second floor. Keenan, who got me checked in, was great. He got me a room as close to the stairs as possible. He's not the issue; management is. How do you run a fully-booked, three-floor hotel without a working elevator? It's obviously an ongoing issue, because it wasn't working during my first visit. This created a ton of extra work for me and many extra trips. An inconvenience I shouldn't have had to deal with. Thank God I don't have a handicap. I would hate not to be able to handle stairs, book a room thinking they have an elevator, only to find out it's not working. I was there for six nights, and the elevator was not fixed during that stretch. Buyer beware.
On top of that, don't let the exterior of this hotel fool you. Once you're inside, it's really not that nice. The rug at the entrance I used was dirty the whole week I was there. It looked like it had never been shaken out. The stairs on my side of the hotel looked like they hadn't been vacuumed all week. In my room, the kitchen faucet was incredibly loose. The mattress was very old and saggy. The carpet in my room and in the hallway was worn, dirty, and sticky in places. It's a whole bunch of deferred maintenance that to me looks like a cash grab from unsuspecting guests; a "let's see if we can get away with this" mentality, rather than actually taking proper care of the property. My room also did not have dish washer detergent, nor any dish soap for hand washing dishes. I heard someone else ask for dish soap at the front desk. That person was also missing the rack from their dishwasher.
I was greeted one morning by what sounded like a swearing match in the room across from me, and the whole time I was here in one of the rooms above me, it sounded at times like people were dropping bowling balls on the floor, or otherwise stomping around their room. The last night, this lasted until after midnight. This isn't so much within management's control, but it is indicative I think of the kind of clientele this hotel attracts, and management's loose guest policies.
On the plus side, there were a lot of outlets in my room, the desk area was spacious, and the bathroom was nice enough. The bathroom outlets were even tight, meaning stuff I plugged in didn't just fall out like at a lot of hotels.
My room rate was more than $100 per night. I realize the Denver area is an expensive place to stay, but it still seems quite excessive for the quality of room and service I received. The hotel was fully booked multiple nights of my stay. You'd think management could afford to take better care of the place and their guests.
I'm a small business owner. The next time I'm back in the Denver area, I will be raising my own business rates so I can stay at a better place. This is the last shot this MainStay Suites had at my return business.
Kind, friendly staff that were very helpful and courteous. Thankful for their hospitality.
Sadly after I booked the room I noticed some horrific reviews about cockroach's. I proceeded anyway to find those review were accurate. Arrived into our room only to be greeted by 4 cock roaches. Two running around on the kitchen floor, one on the toilet seat and one on the wall. We left immediately and submitted a request for a refund. The staff was very friendly and understanding. A plus to them working in such horrific and known conditions.
The price
Bed bugs and roaches everywhere
Just the location and the staff
Smells bad had roaches feels dirty beds and mattress needs to be replaced
For the price, this place is valid. I’m very satisfied with my reservation. The property is clean, and the front desk staff have been friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable option.
Nothing
Bad room no privacy
The smell in the room was terrible...I vomited twice when I first entered the room. I had to spray a lot of cologne to try to hide the smell a little bit...The room smell liked Ramen noodles and foot odor mixed..so it was terrible..told the staff and there was nothing they can do..
The smell of the room made me vomit twice when I first entered the room.
