Dinner with Sri Lankan flavors
Pros:

My mom and I had the most wonderful dinner here on our last night in Sri Lanka, and it was the perfect way to end our trip.

The buffet offered an incredible variety of authentic Sri Lankan dishes, and every single thing we tried was absolutely delicious. There were so many different local flavors to explore that we kept going back for more and wished we could have tasted even more! The tastes, spices, and flavors were amazing, and everything felt fresh and beautifully prepared.

What made the experience even more special was the atmosphere. Despite being in the heart of Colombo, it felt like stepping into another part of Sri Lanka. It reminded us of places like Kataragama and Yala, with a genuine village feel that captured the warmth, culture, and energy of the country. The ambiance was beautiful and made us feel connected to the real Sri Lanka rather than being in the middle of a busy city.

As a lovely surprise, we were treated to a traditional Kandyan dance performance, which made the evening even more memorable and added to the authentic Sri Lankan experience.

A special thank you to Milan, who looked after us throughout the evening. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, and his service made our experience even better.

We genuinely couldn’t stop eating because everything was so good. Thank you for such a memorable evening. We will be leaving Sri Lanka with amazing memories, and this dinner was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.

Amazing atmosphere & incredible service
Pros:

Amazing restaurant and very authentic food. Incredible entertainment and live music throughout! The exterior is beautiful and just feels so relaxing! Our waiter Yohan was very attentive and helpful and showed us everything! His hospitality made it extra special (and Arachi, he was very friendly too!)

A very authentic and cultural experience
Pros:

We had a wonderful dinner with our beautiful family here. The spread was fantastic featuring some really authentic village style cooking and other dishes to transport you back to days as a child. Our waiter, Jayaweera, was attentive, helpful and super friendly. Highly recommend.

Good hospitality from crew
Pros:

Our stay was average compared to other Cinnamon hotels we stayed during our holiday in lanka. The food was good and the restaurant staff were hospitable and wasantha from laundry services did an excellent job and made sure our laundry was done on time. His hospitality was really good towards us .

Magnificent Seafood experience!
Pros:

First visit to the Lagoon restaurant inside the Cinnamon Grand Colombo hotel.

Came as the restaurant opened at noon, was welcomed warmly by the many hosts. Restaurant decor was sparse, but the star attraction is the seafood on offer and the garden view outdoors.

The seafood spread was impressive. Lots of fresh fish, lobster, shrimp and some small blue crabs were on display. After only seeing small crabs on display, I asked whether they had larger crabs, the chef checked on the back. And indeed found a larger crab.

Party of two males, we ordered a lobster (900g), white fish, and mud crab (1000g). Our waiter Gayah spoke decent English, and we trusted his recommendations as to cooking methods.

Lobster thermidor, Modha fish in Thai red curry (a bit spicy) and the Mud crab in white curry.

All the seafood was fresh caught, and cooked perfectly. We ordered mocktails which were well made and refreshing.

Our host Lolitha helped us to take some nice photos.

Great experience, friendly service, amazing seafood. Not cheap for Sri Lanka, but considering the quality of the seafood, our check total around 86k LKR was good value for money.

Highly recommend the Lagoon restaurant. And looking forward to my next visit to Colombo.
