On checking out, the receptionist failed to spot an outrageous charge (3500 USD for a meal for two in the restaurant).

Obviously this was an error, but he seemed perfectly ready to charge this to my credit card. Half an hour when by before we received a feeble apology and an updated bill.

I had already paid for both dinner and breakfast as part of my room booking. When I checked in for dinner, I provided my room number to the member of staff. Unfortunately, the room number was recorded incorrectly.

After finishing my meal, I was approached and asked to pay for the dinner. I explained that the meal had already been prepaid as part of my booking. It was then established that the staff member had entered the wrong room number when I checked in for dinner.

While I appreciate that mistakes can happen, it was disappointing to be approached and chased for payment after I had already paid for the meal. I would suggest that greater care is taken when recording room numbers to avoid similar situations in future.
