We recently stayed three nights at the Basel Marriott Hotel and had a largely wonderful experience. As Marriott Titanium Elite members, we were treated very well—receiving a lovely corner room upgrade (Room 576), complimentary breakfast, and M Club access. We enjoyed The M Club every evening. All these perks significantly enhanced our stay.
The location is unbeatable. It sits right across the street from the Messeplatz tram station, making it incredibly easy to get around. Additionally, the hotel provides a complimentary BaselCard, which offers free public transportation and great discounts at local attractions.
Our corner room was spacious and featured a complimentary minibar that was restocked daily. While the bathroom was a bit on the smaller side, it was perfectly functional. The only real negative—but a significant one—was the room temperature. Despite the hotel advertising air conditioning, our room consistently hovered between 75°F and 78°F. We had the thermostat on the lowest setting offered. This made sleeping very uncomfortable, especially since the bed only had a thick comforter. If it weren't for the uncomfortably warm room, this would easily be a 5-star stay.
