Massives Check-in-Chaos und mangelhafte Backup-Strategie bei IT-Ausfällen
Die Organisation und das Krisenmanagement während eines Softwareausfalls waren eine absolute Katastrophe.
Zimmer 1:Bereits belegt – inklusive eines nackten Mannes im Bett, als ich eintrat. Ein absolutes No-Go.
Zimmer 2:Ebenfalls bereits an andere Gäste vergeben.
Erst nach knapp zwei Stunden Wartezeit und massivem Hin und Her habe ich schließlich eine freie Suite bekommen. Dass man am Ende eine Lösung gefunden hat, ist zwar gut, aber der Weg dorthin war inakzeptabel. Es ist extrem bedenklich, dass ein so großer, internationaler Hotelkonzern wie Marriott keine funktionierende Offline-Strategie oder klare Protokolle für den Fall hat, dass die Buchungssoftware streikt. So etwas darf einfach nicht passieren.

The hotel location is in a very good location. Basel is a small city and lots of places are in walking distance, but there are also street car stations near the hotel. They also give you a free street car pass. Clean rooms. Breakfast is very good. It’s definitely worth the money. The convention center is next to it so it is very easy to go to a meeting if you are in Basel for a meeting.
The rooms could be just bigger. The restaurant is little expensive. The hotel is little overpriced. If I wouldn’t be in Basel for a meeting, I probably wouldn’t stay in that hotel due to its high price.
Due to a mistake made by our tour company, there was a problem with the room we were originally assigned. But thanks to the great assistance provided by Mr. ROBIN from the reception desk, the problem was resolved to our entire satisfaction. Marriott Basel should be happy to have such a great member of their staff!
Otherwise, the hotel is very good: perfect location (with the free use of the trams network), very good breakfast and dedicated staff.
