Durante la colazione al ristorante, abbiamo richiesto informazioni sul pane gluten free e su cosa fosse disponibile per chi è GF. La cameriera ci ha risposto di rivolgerci allo chef.
Ci siamo quindi recati dallo chef per chiedere chiarimenti, ma siamo rimasti sorpresi perché non era a conoscenza di cosa significhi “GF” e non è stato in grado di darci indicazioni adeguate. Anche altri membri della cucina non sono riusciti ad aiutarci.
Il giorno successivo, a colazione, abbiamo nuovamente chiesto alla cameriera (alle 9:00 circa) del pane gluten free e ci è stato detto ancora una volta di parlare con lo chef, ma il servizio non è stato di aiuto.
Abbiamo quindi segnalato la situazione alla reception, che si è scusata. Tuttavia, anche nei giorni successivi il pane GF non è stato fornito correttamente, nonostante fosse previsto. In un’occasione ci è stato detto che era stato dimenticato.
Non abbiamo mai ricevuto correttamente il pane gluten free richiesto. Inoltre, lo chef ha attribuito la responsabilità alla sala per non aver segnalato le allergie o le richieste GF, anche se il buffet dovrebbe essere gestito e controllato dalla cucina.
Riteniamo che sia necessario un miglioramento nella formazione del personale riguardo alle esigenze gluten free e alle allergie alimentari, per garantire un servizio adeguato e sicuro per tutti gli ospiti.

(1. Mini-Rezeption: der erste Ansprechpartner konnte nie helfen, es musste jmd aus dem Back-Office geholt werden, dann ging es. Kurz vor offizieller Auscheckzeit ein Anruf, wann wir denn kommen- wir hatten Late Checkout gebucht und bezahlt, wirkte unorganisiert und wenig professionell.
2. Housekeeping: hinterließ Zimmer ohne Toilettenpapier, am ersten Tag keine Auffüllung der Kaffeekapseln, Mitarbeiter sprach kein Englisch, Kommunikation nur mit Online-Übersetzer möglich. Das dürfte auch der Grund sein, warum dort niemand ans Telefon geht.
3. Restaurant-Host, älter und mit zu großen Schuhen, wirkte arrogant und unfreundlich gegenüber Europäern und Australiern, Freundlichkeit stieg bei chinesischen Gästen, Smartphone meist wichtiger als Gast.
4. Personal allgemein: nicht jeder verstand Englisch, zum Großteil blieb der Eindruck von fehlendem Training)
- Belüftung im Zimmer. Kalt war kein Problem, aber es blieb immer das Gefühl von abgestandener Luft.
- Fehlender Stauraum im Zimmer, aber das gilt für nahezu alle Hotels in Singapur. Das Leben aus dem Koffer muss man mögen. Schnell riecht darin alles nach muffiger Klimaanlage.
