The cleanliness of the rooms, general atmosphere and aesthetics of the hotel were classy and calming. The staff were courteous and very helpful.
The pillows were the low point. Although there were multiple pillows, I still awoke with a stiff neck as I couldn't find a comfortable position to adjust them with proper support.
The property was amazing and centrally located to the city.
Overall there was nothing we didn’t like it was great.
The bed was a tiny bit firm for my liking but otherwise everything was amazing
How accessible everything was and helpful the staff is and how friendly they were.
The parking garage was the scariest part.
The location , the good food & the beautiful scenery from you’re room any floor .
Checking in the first day was a little confusing by the reception that Gould find our reservation & saying my husbands dl was expired but it wasn’t it just had a photo ID card to get his picture taken & misspelled our last name ! Said that’s why they couldn’t find our pre paid room
Everything
The proximity to the venue we were visiting
Unclean and needs updating to the guest rooms
I had a great stay while in Pittsburgh for a conference. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. There is a great workout center that was perfect each morning. Parking was easy with self-parking on site and valet as an option. Skyway to the convention center was a plus!
I had an excellent stay here. I have Bonvoy Gold status and Kristen Crosier at guest relations contacted a few days before my stay and offered me a room upgrade. They gave me wonderful 2 room suite (room 1715). Aside from that I had 2 separate reservations and they were kind enough to combine them and not move rooms even though the hotel was full. The staff go above and beyond and that made for a great stay.
I stayed at the Westin in September and October this year. On my first stay, the room clean, but the safe had been left open in the locked position and the bathroom sink was slow to drain. My first morning the toilet overflowed. Maintenance quickly responded and took care of all three problems. My second visit I couldn't get the door open. Once more prompt assistance, the problem mine, there was a need to grab the handle in the middle and push. Check in staff pleasant and efficient. The room clean. On my second stay the coffee tray had no tea or sugar or creamer. The bathroom well stocked with towels and toiletries, there is a drying line in the tub, hairdryer, makeup mirror. The closet had ample hangers, iron and ironing board, safe. The bed comfortable; of the Pittsburgh Marriott properties I've stayed in, the Westin and the Sheraton have the most comfortable beds. There was an upholstered chair and small coffee table, a desk, a large TV. This hotel is well located for the Convention Center, the Cultural District, Heinz History Center, and a block from Amtrak. There is a Starbucks and Bill's Burgers in the complex and several restaurants within a block on Penn. Also on Penn outside the hotel's entrance is a stop for the Pittsburgh Tour Company's Hop On Hop Off bus. Even though I know the tour spiel by heart I enjoy taking the bus around the city and do so each time I visit. The rooms could use some updating, but depending on the purpose of my visit this hotel more than fits the bill.
From the second we checked in, everything was amazing. Shannon at the front desk was absolutely FABULOUS — seriously one of the best hotel staff experiences I’ve ever had. She took the time to show us where to find the water and ice machines, gave great local food recommendations, and even explained the easiest (and free!) way to get to the game, complete with a map. On top of that, she walked us through how to link our Marriott Bonvoy account with other apps to earn more points. She went above and beyond!
The location couldn’t have been better — super close to the T, which made getting to and from the game so easy (and free!). The sports bar inside the hotel was awesome, so we didn’t even need to go out for dinner, and having a Starbucks right downstairs was such a nice bonus. Our room was the perfect size, super clean, and everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful.
Highly, highly recommend this place — we’ll definitely be staying here again!
I had zero complaints!
The location and views were great!!
The front desk concierge was not very friendly.
Location, friendliness of staff
The hotel ( the room's furnishings, decor, bathroom, etc.) is a little dated and in obvious need of a refresh
I wrote this review with mixed emotions. A few weeks ago while on a business trip, I spent 2 nights at this hotel. I arrived late, close to 9 pm and was greeted by friendly front desk staff, acknowledged as Platinum Elite Bonvoy member and assigned to a room on the 5th floor. The lobby of the hotel was fresh and upscale. Exactly what I expect from a Westin.
When I exited the elevator on the 5th floor, I felt like I was in a different hotel. The carpeting, wall coverings, doors and even smell felt dated and worn. I entered my room and did my customary bed bug check. The first warning sign was that the bed closest to the entry door didn’t have a bed bug cover, but the bed next to the window and armchair (which was situated between the bed and the window) did have a cover. So this told me that bed bug covers were not standard at this hotel, but that maybe there had been a problem with the bed which had the cover. I did not find any bed bugs or stains on the mattress. I lifted the cushion on the arm chair and saw the telltale rust colored stains around the seam where the seat met the back and arms of the chair. This concerned me, that there had likely been an infestation at some point.
I further inspected the carpet and wall around the chair and found a live and crawling up the wall. This was too much for me, so I went back downstairs and requested another room. The front desk staff were extremely professional and asked me to email them the photos/video so they could address the problem. Their hospitality is what earned this review 3 instead of 1 or 2.
Everything was great, with one mishap, I found a pair of men’s underwear under the desk. So it told me the room was not cleaned as well as it should have been, I then started questioning everything!
