Rennovation over the winter 25/26?
Pros:

Just writing this as I am booked here in the summer. I have been told that the hotel is being rennovated this winter, and is now owned by Carnival Cruise lines for its Holland America and Princess cruise lines.

Can anybody incuding trip advisor confirm this. The telephone is active but no answer.

A place to rest your eyes for a few hours
Pros:

To be fair, this hotel is only open during “tourist season”, not year round…. That being said, this is a good place to sleep for the night, and move on. Sleep, shower, get free muffins and oranges, and move on.

I won't stay there again.
Cons:

Bathroom wasn't as scrubbed up as it should have been. Very dated so it should have been cheaper to stay there. I didn't like that parking was an additional $40 per day. That was a rip off.

Not bad but JDV Wildbirch hotel was better value
Pros:

Massive room. Huge balcony. Quiet. Handy location. Older style hotel but it’s clean and very comfortable. 49th State Brewery is a short walk and serves great food and craft beer. Friendlier front desk staff compared to the Fairbanks Westmark.

Cons:

Even though the person I checked in with said there was a free continental breakfast, the next day the staff said it wasn’t available that morning and just had sweet muffins and instant coffee available next to front desk. Better than nothing I guess. The night staff are not as good as the morning staff. The TV remote didn’t work and when I called front desk to ask for help, the night person tried to tell me I was using the air con remote and that they couldn’t offer me another! I told him it wasn’t an air con remote, that it had volume and channel buttons etc but he was totally clueless. I worked out that the TV had side buttons I could use to turn it on and change channels but you’d think he would have either known to tell me that, or offered to come up and help. When I told the morning staff they had a laugh with me about it lol..

Not Bad for an Overnight Stay
Pros:

Great location, easy to explore downtown. Convenient walking distance from the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center, where the Park Motorhome Connection bus drops off. The room was spacious and clean. Stayed for one night in mid-September.

Cons:

It would be nice if breakfast was included. The microwave in our room could use a bit more cleaning.

Pros:

The Westmark Anchorage Hotel was convenient and the shopping was within walking distance.
Church was nearby which was excellent.

Nice place to stay in downtown Anchorage.
Pros:

Was able to walk there from the train station. Easy to explore downtown Anchorage. Walking distance to main attractions. Breakfast was good.

Good location. Right next to the bus station if coming from airport. Easy walking to anywhere downtown! The reception were awesome but can't say the same for the breakfast staff...

Room is big and with big balcony and great view.

Cons:

Breakfast is a simple fare (nothing fancy).
The staff looks unhappy to report for the breakfast duties ☺️

Requested for rollaway bed upon booking, and hotel acknowledged. However, rollaway bed was not to be seen upon check-in. Had to call and asked for the missing bed - but eventually told staff no need anymore as we checked in after 1030pm and it was getting late and we just wanted to rest ASAP.
