Best hotel for classic style and to visit the capital, good location near shops and eating establishments, comfortableead desk, lamps sitting chair
Great location for exploring the town. Beds and linens were excellent!
The room was a little musty until we had the windows open for a while
Old hotel, very small rooms everything is dated. Service was good, location was close to the dock which is what we wanted.
Chris (Kris?) is amazing!
Hotel needs a revamp… staff is awesome
Convenient. Laundry access was helpful
The room could use more lighting
Wait at elevator every day
Lines at breakfast
Really nice place.
Convenient to downtown Juneau, the port.
This is a great older hotel in the heart of Juneau. Easy walk to shops, restaurants and food trucks. There is also a good restaurant in the hotel. Be prepared for lumberjack sized portions that can easily be shared. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because of the unrelenting heat on the mountain side of the building on the higher floors. We were on the 6th floor and had to sleep with the window wide open all night and it was still too hot to require covers. Not all the rooms had this issue but be aware when making plans this could be a problem.
Very nice bed
Coffee machine didn’t work at all in our room.
The light above the door did not work.
The breakfast was poor quality.
Could not sit on toilet w door open, door hits toilet. Bathroom so small. Not clean and smells bad. Beds comfy and service was good.
I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights during a work conference in a King Suite room. I would recommend this room as it was wonderful. It was clean, bed was comfy and view was fantastic! The rooms don't have air conditioning (it is Alaska), you just open the windows and it cools down fast. The heaters were turned off but I didn't need them.
This hotel is old and it has it's quirks. Elevators are slow, halls are narrow, rooms are dated but clean. Had breakfast three mornings in restaurant. It had basic breakfast items and was very good. The line at check-in was rather long but the front desk workers were very friendly. In fact, everyone was friendly: restaurant workers, maids, concierge staff.
It's location is great. Within walking distance of everything downtown. Food truck court is right next door. I bought discount tickets for tram and seaplane tour from concierge which worked out great. They recommended Juneau Taxi for early morning flight home that went well. Place is a bit pricey, but most things in Juneau are. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Juneau, which I hope is soon.
This hotel was built in 1931, probably one of the first in the
town. Could use some facelift but it worked for me. the walls are a little thin and if you are loud enough you can here it. I guess it all depends who you have next to you. It was quiet for me. The breakfast's are good if you want to eat at the hotel. Location/location/location - this place is near everything. Nothing more than a five to 10 minute walk in all directions to see the main stuff. I'd give the hotel a 3.5 rating if you could on the survey.
Wouldn’t recommend.
