Reasonable value in Juneau
Pros:

Good location, close to downtown Juneau, and better price than most. Juneau is very expensive in summer.

Cons:

Hotel/rooms are older and a bit dated.

Worst Best Western ever!!
Pros:

This is the worst Best Western I ever stayed in. Back in September 2025, I made reservation for a suite. This was not honored. In fact they had no record of it and told me to check with a travel site I never use or much less heard. I made the reservation on Best Western website. The room I got was small, thin walls, poor water pressure and two beds...one was a smaller queen and one was a smaller twin. Elevators barely worked and they close the parking lot without any notice for couple of days and offer us NO alternative outside of saying "use the paid parking garage" where we have to pay. That was not stated in their line up. The front desk people appear to be striking ignorant. Only one person, a well informed and trained woman managed to answer with knowledge. Rest of the crew, their standard response was....."I don't know, sir". The positive element of this hotel is that it is ideally located in downtown Juneau. But this is a super old hotel that needs a major upgrade and properly trained staff working at the front desk. As it turned out, I was not the only one who got screwed over. I ran into several people at the hotel during my time, who did what I did, ordered a suite room and didn't get it. They were also not very happy campers. A guy next to my room was screaming at the front desk...thin walls allowed me to listen in and he had the same issue as I had.."this is not a suite" he shouted into the phone. Oh yeah....my room phone didn't work either. I had to make my complaint in person!! I hope they can fix their many issues. But honoring a reservation is the most important. And I believe, I was still charge for suite, even although I didn't get one. Oh well, live and learn I guess!!

It was comfortable and safe. Would stay there again.
Pros:

It is in the historic area of Juneau where all the action is. It was hot when we were there so air conditioning would have been nice.
All in all it was great and the restaurant was good.

Cons:

A little noisy at night since we had the window open for air. It was 80 + degrees.

Old and worn. Needs care and cash.
Pros:

Great location. Nice staff.

Cons:

Old, beat up hotel. No functional ice machines out of 3, our toilet ran constantly from bad seal, full shower gel dispenser didn't dispense---just a few of many small problems showing lack of care and concern. Public areas worn. Best Western says it's Premier. Really? Poorest BW we've ever seen. Most heard comment from other guests was hotel is a giant money pit.

manage expectations
Pros:

we are here aug 14,2026 one night. First let me start with a positive: The front desk staff is hardworking, friendly and professionally dealt with many issues of frustration that the hotel corporate/ownership were ultimately held the responsibly. It location is great to town, tram and port. There is no AC; it Alaska it is rarely needed but just please be aware( today’s temp is 72 and with no circulation in the building it is humid) . The 4 pm check in needs to be noted to anyone travelling here by ship- almost a full 8 hours before you can get your room. They do store your luggage, so you may walk around and spend money in the local economy. Near lots of dining options. The hotel is dated in structure with small rooms, bathroom and Full size ( not queen) beds. It is in need of much cosmetic maintenance, which is fine if not for the 350 plus price per night. But honestly they kinda have you in a bind as there are not a ton of options in Juneau and there is no incentive for them to better the hotel. It’s clean and safe but very pricey for what you get- just be prepared for this type of strongholds the hotels have in this area. I would have to do better research the next time around in order to meet my expectations. Again not a issue of needing anything luxury but just expecting better based on the price per night. I was the family planner 😊 let see if i’m elected again after this stay the no AC was a issue for everyone and i just never thought, being from the Gulf Coast that AC wouldn’t be here. We picked the rare Alaskan heat wave to bay cat 😊

Good location but old and tired
Pros:

I chose this place for the location: easy walking distance to much of what you'll want to see in Juneau. The location ended up being the best part because many other things weren't quite up to par. The building is old so I'll give the creaky elevator a pass, but there's no excuse for things not working in the room: the in-room telephone didn't work, half the buttons on the TV remote didn't work, we didn't have hot water the first night, the bathroom lights flickered constantly, and there was no security latch on our door (it looked as if someone had kicked the door in and broken the frame, and it never got repaired). My key cards were constantly getting demagnetized even when they were not near my phone--never had that happen before. (At one point, neither of my cards worked on my room, but my traveling companion, who was staying in the room next door, was able to open both our doors with his key cards.) Breakfast in the lobby restaurant was fine but a bit expensive. Staff were pretty apathetic and not very interested in helping us with our various issues. I had seen the building described as the "crown jewel" of Juneau, but it hasn't retained any of its opulence. Were I to come to Juneau again, I would definitely stay someplace else.
Tip: Our cab driver told us on the ride there to ask for a room on the 1st or 2nd floor because anything above that gets too hot and humid. We had to stay on the 6th floor and he was definitely right.

Would not return
Pros:

Old hotel that smelled and the heat was cranked in the summer. When asked about the heat, we were told to open the windows. It is in need of a renovation desperately. The elevators sounded as though they were about to break. Only positive is the location.

Needs a complete renovation
Pros:

I liked the location

Cons:

We were on the sunny side. The sun beat in the window and there was no air conditioning. Direct tv doesn’t work on the 9th floor. Water shut off 3 hours a day on floors 3-5. The buffet breakfast was horrible. There are many scary and drugged homeless people within a block of the hotel.
