The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and all-around great people. The only 2 gripes I have for my entire stay is how unreliable the room keys are, sometimes being deactivated when held near common devices; all easily fixed though by visiting the help desk.
The only unbearable experience was the parking. Of course it’s not too controllable due to the city layout and limited spaces, but the guests that stay there are so incredibly terrible at parking their rentals, that arriving when there are only 3 spaces left is immensely infuriating. You will need to have a spotter and complete a 10-20 point turn in order to squeeze into the tiny and especially, double-parked spaces that people just don’t care whatsoever as to cause an issue for all other guests.
Older historic bldg with issues
We have no hot water the 2nd day and repeated issues with room key.
Comfortable bed
Location was great. We took a bus trip to Douglas and got a Lyft ride from the bus transit center in the Mendanhall Valley to the Mendanhall glacier.
breakfast was actually awful, and I only ate in the hotel cafe only once. I ordered scrambled eggs, expecting a nice fluffy little pile of eggs, but instead got flat little tortilla-like items. Yuck. Plus EXTREMELY expensive for what I received. Coffee, which is free in the lobby and in my room, was $5 in the cafe.
The rooms (or even the lobby!) need a microwave and a small fridge to use or save leftovers from local restaurants. We had to throw away quite a bit of food because we couldn't preserve it or even warm it up to eat it.
Great service, comfortable beds
Parking
Everything.
Nothing everything was awesome.
Bed
Best hotel for classic style and to visit the capital, good location near shops and eating establishments, comfortableead desk, lamps sitting chair
Great location for exploring the town. Beds and linens were excellent!
The room was a little musty until we had the windows open for a while
Old hotel, very small rooms everything is dated. Service was good, location was close to the dock which is what we wanted.
Chris (Kris?) is amazing!
