Booked thru Holland America cruise package. Our last night of our trip was comfortable. 6th floor room seemed to be recently updated. Room was lacking suffient lightning...a floor lamp had to be moved around for more lighting! Bathroom area was clean...but beware of the toilet! It is soooo loud when flushing it almost knocks you off your feet!!!! Accent chairs could have used a good cleaning but bed was very comfortable.

Extrem veraltete Zimmerausstattung
Location was great.
Stuff up with our booking, over charged and took longer than expected to sort out. Fittings and decor could do with a touch up. Faucets in bathrooms need replacing, they seemed very old. Rooms were nice and large but decor looked tired and dated. Lighting in room was dull. However, location was great.
The bed was very comfortable!
The room was quiet!
The shower water did NOT fluctuate!
The sheets were soft, smelled fresh & not of heavy chlorine bleach!
The refrigerator was spotless & cold!
The price was right considering it’s still tourist season!
This hotel was part of the land tour on our Holland America cruise. They should be embarrassed. The hotel was mediocre at best. Had a lump in the middle of the bed and I slept in a dip. Toilet tank was sweating and running down onto the floor causing mold around the floor behind the toilet. This could be eliminated by installing a toilet with an insulated tank. Shower had mold under the grab bar and it appeared they had tried to fix the grout in the shower but used a completely different grout. Window was open and when I tried to close it I thought it was going to fall apart. When talking with other guests we found that our room was not the only one in need of repairs and updating.
Parking was easy
Dirty rooms. I found hair in the corners of every room. The blankets were literally so old they were crusty and scratchy. Every surface in the facility had some level of dust, the picture frames and blinds and top of door frames were the worst. The gym equipment was old and out dated, felt like a home gym.
The customer service was also lacking. They all seemed to be over it.
Breakfast not available. Staff was knowledgeable and polite. Beds are comfortable.
Smoke detector and light fixture both need to be fully installed, not hanging by wires. Two chairs instead of one would be appropriate in the kitchenette.
Our Holland America cruise and Denali trip forced us to stay at this dump. The rooms are old and disgusting. Shame on Holland America for this. The rooms are small, dirty, and poorly lit. I cannot believe that somehow Hilton is associated with this.
Convenience and amenities
Other guests noise. Not hotels fault.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The fire alarm went off twice during my stay—once in the late afternoon and again around 3 a.m.—which was disruptive and concerning. When I inquired with the front desk what was going on they stated the panel was malfunctioning and they needed a professional to shut it off. The bathroom also had visible mold, which made the room feel poorly maintained. On the positive side, the front desk employees were genuinely lovely: friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout my stay. Their professionalism stood out, even though the overall conditions did not.
Loved this hotel! I did a girls trip this past week, and after searching several area hotels we decided on the Westmark. It’s perfectly central to everything in the downtown town area; walkable to so much like the Ice Museum, several great bars, the famous Crepey, a beautiful park, supermarkets, and not too far an Uber ride away from the university museum. I got a suite to share with a friend, and had a little kitchenette with a nice sized fridge and microwave. Perfect for leftovers the next day. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and plenty of hot water. Being Fairbanks, a lot of hotels seem to not have full on air conditioning, but our room had one, as well as a room fan. To help keep that 24 sun out of the room at night, the blackout curtains worked great. The staff was helpful and friendly, and it was perfectly budgeted. We also ate at their bar, The Happy Husky. Delicious! The hotel gift shop had plenty of tchotchkes and souvenirs, sunscreen, and the usual bits you may need last minute, and at affordable prices, considering it’s Alaska. Overall, this was the perfect hotel for location, price and accessibility to all that Fairba is offers.
The staff is professional and welcoming. I loved eating at the Happy Husky. Food was amazing, server was attentive. Location is great, walking distance to restaurants and town. Enjoyed my stay
Location is perfect right in downtown, easy to walk to any restaurant and grocery store is near by. The river walk is gorgeous walking to a brewery on the other side. Everyone in the staff is nice and friendly, super welcoming and there is free breakfast starting at 6am. The gift shops have great stuff to grab if you are in a bind that isn’t too pricy. There are water stations everywhere to fill up water.
