I wanted to love it! Unfortunately the Don Cesar fell short. First they were filming a movie which closed one of the two pools. This of course made the one pool very crowded. They also had part of the outdoor spaces closed as well as section of the beach. NOT WHAT I WAS PAYING FIR! Their staff needs training on service. Their general tone is unwelcoming and somewhat disrespectful. The food is mediocre at best. Which I could get past if it was served with a smile. I had requested a call upon check out from F&B about the unprofessional management at the pool area, but a week later no one has called or reached out. Rooms & bathrooms are tiny.
If I were selecting a similar hotel again I would choose another option.
On another note The spa was good!
The Don Cesar is absolutely breathtaking. Its beauty and long history spark imagination and wonder. No words can describe how monumental this experience has been! Simply sitting and looking at the Pink Palace is calming, meditative, and unforgettable. Each staff member clearly has a connection, rather it sharing a personal experience, the Don’s history, or a genuine desire to make one’s stay pleasurable. This trip will stick with me for a lifetime! Thank you for allowing me to share a piece of history! ❤️
We really had such a great and relaxing time at the Don Cesar. Some of the reviews mentioned smaller rooms, but ours was a corner unit and was great. We loved the morning yoga on the beach, the pool and just lounging Oceanside. The staff went beyond and every single person was kind and helpful. The yoga instructors were amazing and Katie at the pool was truly great. We want to come back soon, and love this little slice of paradise on St. Pete. Also the surrounding area was great, we had a great time going to local restaurants and using the Freebee rides to get around and get suggestions of where to go from local residents. Food at the hotel is great too, we loved Andy’s for a morning coffee and sandwich. Thank you for a great stay!
Hotel é maravilhoso. Piscinas, praia, restaurantes e localização excelentes. Pôr do sol espetacular! Um lugar especial!
Located on the beautiful Gulf of America, this hotel offered so much. The historic hotel harkens back to such a glamorous and elegant time that is sorely missing in so many hotels these days. The rooms were completely comfortable with a lovely art decor feel. The restaurants offered fine dining no matter which one you chose. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our trip memorable including a movie being filmed while we were there. The fine dining, lovely access to the beach, the first class spa and the staff ensure I will be returning very soon!
Checked in for terrible food. Half pool closed due movie. Windows broken in room. Foood 100% wrong. Terrible experience. Left and was much happier
I went on Location for a 3 day film shoot at the Hotel and had the opportunity to stay at the property. This is a historic property that just went through a 100 million dollar post hurricane restoration. The Art Deco beauty of the hotel is remarkable. The lobby bar is beautiful and serves great drinks in the afternoon as well as some great Wagyu sliders. The rooms are smaller as its an old hotel but they are beautifully appointed and comfortable. We traveled with our pets, (the hotel is pet friendly and you will end up on the 2nd floor which is their "pet floor") it's a $75/day pet fee. There is no stigma here about traveling with your pet, but I would recommend against it unless you have a small dog. The pool is beautiful and the beach access with lounge chairs and umbrellas included in your stay for free are well worth it. There is also food/beverage service on the beach at your chairs. The hotel is located centrally so you have easy access to many other bars and restaurants close by but do eat at the hotel if you want a great meal. We ate at the Society Table restaurant a few times and it never disappointed. The staff is awesome, friendly and helpful and I cannot wait to go back.
Great place 1st class all the way around. My only issue is a film is being made here for the week “The Statement” and access is restricted and we are being asked to accommodate the film not how it should work we should have been told about the film and restrictions around the property I would have not come this week. Sadly nothing offered as compensation. I have been asked by film people to move or not do something several times. Not how I would spend a vacation. Disappointed not informed prior!
This resort is fantastic! Great food, the service is excellent! The servers at the pools, bars and restaurants are top notch! The beach service was awesome! We loved the Easter brunch, so many options and the food was great.
The hotel is clean and the renovated rooms were great! Although this is an older historic resort, they have done everything to bring it up to today's luxury resort standards!
This was a beautiful hotel! The sand was like white flour. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We rented a car but we did enjoy walking the beach to restaurants and bars in both directions.
This property has retained its beauty throughout the years. The property is clean and the staff pleasant. That said, there is not much around the property as it is out of the way a bit. This allows it to capitalize on convenience through its escalated pricing for even the most basic of amenities. Think of it more like a captive audience.
The bathroom showed signs of wear and regardless of the time of day or night, the water pressure in the shower was barely enough to make it out of the shower head. The toilet was extremely close to the wall and would not allow sufficient clearance for a larger person to sit comfortably. The rooms air filter was completely clogged, well past a preventative maintenance change.
Very clean and comfortable
The booking was incorrect, I booked a oceanview when I got to my room it was scenery of roof and air conditioning
The hotel wouldn’t change it
The resort is beautiful. This was our 5th stay through the last 8 years
The food was terrible and overpriced. We had breakfast and lunch and both were bad and extremely expensive. This time we only stayed 2 nights and glad we did that because we were able to explore other hotels that had smaller facilities but the food was incredible.
Great staff beautiful hotel clean rooms very relaxing.
We went for lunch and rented a cabana to have a beach day excursion with our tween neices in town for spring break from the tundra. We didn't day pass because I live 20 minutes away and have a pool. LOL!! But would have if I didnt. The service is top-notch. Our server at lunch was super friendly! The dessert was incredible!! Then off to the beach. The guys who set up the cabana and beach chairs were super friendly. Our beach server was great, and there was every time our cups got empty. It was like she had a camera watching. She was that good! Highly recommended spending the $$!!! It's worth every penny!
We had an absolutely amazing experience staying at The Don CeSar in St. Pete Beach with our family! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The drinks were fabulous, perfectly crafted and refreshing. The atmosphere was relaxing and not too “spring break”.
What truly stood out was the incredible wait staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time.
The activities for the kids were great! Our kids were constantly engaged, happy, and excited, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable for us.
This was a five-star experience all around, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, relaxing, and memorable getaway!
I found the atmosphere lovely, the beach and pools very enjoyable, clean, the service inside and out was exemplary! Love the shops downstairs, and the food was wonderful! Highly suggest the Don Cesar🩷🩷🩷
