Like the service we received around the pool and at the beach
Room was in the corner and not a good view of beach from the window in the bedroom and the sitting area was very dark as there was no window
A better location for the room
A room with a better view
Our family recently stayed at The Don CeSar for three nights. The property itself is beautiful, and many staff members were courteous and helpful throughout our stay.
However, our trip ended on a very disappointing note. Following pool use during our stay, both of our children experienced severe facial irritation that progressed into redness and peeling over the next two days. One of our children ultimately required medical evaluation and treatment for irritant contact dermatitis.
We contacted the hotel immediately, shared photographs and medical documentation, and attempted to resolve the matter directly and professionally. Unfortunately, the hotel ultimately denied any connection to the incident and declined to provide any accommodation or resolution.
While there were positive aspects to the resort, this experience — and the response afterward — left us very disappointed.
Location is great, however, way overpriced for the experience and services offered. The Marriot Residence Inn Treasure Island rooms are just as nice at a fraction of the cost.
A few unsavory guest in the lounge area.
Location
Not upscale as in the past
If you want to relax and be pampered this is the place. We did delux premium king room very nice great view of pools and ocean . Pools large and refreshing, plenty of lounge chairs, bar in the middle so service is right at hand. music during the day outside and in the lounge in the evening. great food, nice shopping . staff very friendly and helpful. We are headed back this June for another weeks stay.
Very disappointing and honestly unacceptable experience. The price per night is extremely high, yet the reality is completely different from what is shown online. The images and promotions are misleading and create expectations that are not even close to what you actually get.
The condition of the hotel is very poor. It feels neglected, outdated, and not properly maintained. The room was in bad shape, but the worst part was the bathroom. It was genuinely dirty and in an unacceptable state. For a hotel charging these rates, this is simply inexcusable. Cleanliness is the most basic standard, and it was clearly not met.
The entire stay felt uncomfortable and frustrating from the moment we arrived. This is not just below expectations, it is far below what should be acceptable at any level, especially at this price point.
Overall, it feels like a complete misrepresentation of what is being offered. Definitely not worth the money, and not a place I would recommend to anyone.
The date scroll (above) did not go back far enough for us to recognize our last visit in April of 2005 when my wife and I last visited and celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Our stay at the Don CeSar in 2005 was wonderful. We are now returning this June to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and look forward to the same special experience. We are confident that the quality of service provided 20 years ago will be the same this year and look forward to our return visit.
The property was nice, but I felt like everything was overly priced. Nothing had prices tags on it and we wind up paying more than we would’ve if we chose to eat or drink drinks other locations. Everything we purchased we were charged 22% in tips whether they deserved a tip or not and they were just two of us.
We felt like it was price gouging, in all locations in the hotel. Everything was extremely overpriced and I’ve stayed at nice hotels all over this one was the most expensive and not worth the money.
Amazing experience
This is a return trip after many years and we regret not coming back sooner! The customer service, rooms, staff are all amazing and make you feel super welcome and special! Alexa Smith in the front office is so helpful, every staff member was friendly, and so accommodating- we loved our visit and will definitely return to this iconic resort!
Magnifique hôtel, plage et piscine
Rien
I'm afraid the gild is off the lily. Let's start with parking: $38 to self-park, $40 to valet (plus tax and an invitation to tip) -- before you cross the threshold. No al fresco dining with Gulf views. Replaced by huge crane at work -- impossible to overlook or not hear. Fries had to be traded in for fresh. Exterior is now a weird coral-ish color. I think the hurricanes set the place back and it's yet to recover. Our fond past memories will remain so but it's unlikely we'll return.
Our bartender/server was great and the espresso martini delicious.
If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to step into a dream… this is it 🤍
From the moment I arrived at The Don CeSar, I felt it — that instant shift into vacation mode, but elevated. Not just a hotel… an experience.
NOTHING IT WAS PERFECT!
Rated this wonderful hotel 5 stars back in 2018. This was our first time back after the post-hurricane renovations. Still 5 stars, but only because that’s the most you can give. Otherwise, I’d give more. It’s perfect- stunningly beautiful, wonderful service, (especially at Society Table and poolside) and delicious food and drinks. Total perfection- and it’s PINK!
This is a great place for families or couples. If you like a 1.5 miles beach walk for breakfast, this is the place.
