This was TERRIBLE. Once a delightful family run hotel, turned into a scatty residence for the SCUM of society. I do not feel safe travelling here as a solo man. I felt uncomfortable in the dirty, dusty room… Cereal that was served for beer tasted stale and dried. I will NOT return
Staff verbally and mentally abused me after saying about my kettle in my room growing with green mould and discriminated me in front of my 1 year old dirty disgusting hotel and staff screaming in front of children and making a young mum with mental health go in to a state of panic with her child this behaviour is absolutely not necessary
Owners were really nice & understanding that I had to check in early ready for my university lecture! Will definitely be returning
Stopped here for 2 nights with 2 friends, lovely greeting nice and friendly. We stopped in the annex which was just fab come and go when we wanted without disturbing anyone it was clean and comfy would defo stop here again.
I decided to stay overnight in Preston after a long business trip, found this Hotel, value for money was very good, the room was clean and tidy but basic, the owner and his staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was included in the price, and the dining room was set out lovely, with the usual, juices cereals and fruit, very nice, would i stay there again 100% Yes !!, thank you guys.
Staff here are lovely and work their socks off. Used hotel for location for the football as part of a stopover on a long trip south. Very central and easy to find on the main road into Preston straight from the M6 in around 10 minutes. Lovely leafy area with lots of lovely properties and a nice park just over the road. 5 of us stayed in the annex away from the main building which was a bit rough around the edges but warm, peaceful and beds were comfy. At the price we paid for a room for 5 it was fair value. It was a particularly wet night and there was a leak from the roof which splashed a couple of our gadgets though no lasting damage. Took the breakfast at £10 for all of us, full English, endless toast, tea, coffee, juice plus a few cereal options. Was it Michelin starred - no. Was it adequate and filled us up for the rest of our journey - absolutely. All in all a decent cheap nights sleep, made to feel very welcome but probably not somewhere for a longer stay.
Room was awful , small and smelly , no coathook to hang my soaking wet coat . I did check in as my visa card statement will show , but due to a difference of opinion left within 2 hours with a cash refund .I could go into more detail , had booked it because it is near Preston North End football ground .
Plenty of parking space at the rear of the property .
We stayed one night at the Whitburn House Hotel while attending a family party nearby.
We were welcomed by Lynne who showed us to our room and explained breakfast / fire exits / etc.
The hotel is friendly, clean and very-well priced.
The breakfast was good and inexpensive.
It did everything it says on the tin !!
A very pleasant stay.
Would recommend.
Arrived and my booking wasn’t totally obvious on their system. I had booked a single room but wasn’t aware of shared bathroom or toilet facilities on another floor. I was offered a room with services included for a premium but chose to decline as I knew I wasn’t staying long. The walls were very thin and I could hear the man snoring in the next room and the TVs too. The room itself was pleasant and the decor of the hotel so I would consider staying again but I’d choose an en suite room at a premium next time.
Enjoyed our stay made very welcome we would go back again, it was clean, it was small but good, helpful and good at recommending eating here places at night nearby the hotel
Ps great poached eggs!!!!!
We stayed on fri to break up the journey down to south England for a family with 2 young kids. We received a warm welcome and given the room next to the main door to the car park. There was the occasional bang but I stay in hotels at least once a month and it’s nothing unusual. The room was clean, well presented and warm. Sure there is a list of DIY jobs but even the lady who checked us in was working late at night painting & decorating the new annex. Overall, great location off the motorway next to retail park and petrol station which was handy and the 2 ladies who checked us in and served breakfast were great. Would recommend, Good value for the low price.
Very clean and optional breakfasts was excellent value. Car parking a bit tricky to access owing to dual carriageway very pleasant staff and we’ll definitely use again.
Stayed in family room two singles and big king-sized bed very comfortable, clean enough ground floor the only down side was the noise , the hotel carpark was outside our window and most of the night there was shouting and then more arguing at 6am in the hotel from there it was loud!!! Talking and swearing outside in the carpark and outside our door, outside our hotel room was the kitchen I believe or staff room where we could hear everyone chatting and shouting, not even an apology in morning.
Hotel is a total dump and is located in a terrible area. Building should be condemned it's in such bad shape. Staff was nice and pleasant, but this was definitely the worst hotel we've ever stayed in
We stayed for one night in the way back from Scotland. Had a very warm welcome and stayed on the ground floor in the family room. Room was well laid out and had everything we need. The owners are clearly still improving things. The entrance door to the hotel is right outside the room we stayed in and it slams really loudly as people come in which did disturb us during the night. We woke up to our daughter saying there was a leak in the bathroom. There was a ready stream of dripping from the light fitting. Obviously a leak from the bathroom upstairs. Not a great start to the morning as had concerns over the safety of water leaking through a light fitting. We were also a little disappointed that breakfast was only served from 830 which is a bit late if you want an early start to your day. Having said all of this it is still good value for money and I am sure will improve.
Nice accommodation at a reasonable price good location excellent service
The staff were very nice ladies. But that's the only positives i have about the hotel.
Car Park at rear of building and not big enough.
Other guests playing ball games in carpark.
No instructions on website to say parking was not on the road where the hotel was situated.
Very Rude and Aggressive neighbours in House next door.
Room was small.
"Private Bathroom" was not private and was used by multiple guests often having to queue for shower and toilet use. This FACT should have been made more clear on the website.
Internet would not connect.
I booked and paid for 3 nights but only lasted 2 as i was very very disappointed.
The property is clean and serviced daily but unfortuanately it wasn't to my liking.
On arrival met by Lynn and taken to my room.i was a bit worried coz I have a discounted room at only£35 per night?..found the room ok and was fine for my needs..plenty of parking to the rear of the property.overall I enjoyed my stay...thank you Lynn(have I spelt your name right😀?)
We stayed at the Whitburn House Hotel for 2 nights in May 2019.
We were very pleased with the service offered and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However the hotel was under new management and was undergoing a gradual and needed refurbishment. Whilst our room was clean and spacious there were some very disappointing features in it that needed to be addressed.
There was bare electrical wires sticking out from the wall which I presume had been a light fitting which had not been replaced. For all I new they could have been live.
There was no where to hang anything in the bathroom or even a toilet roll holder. The toilet cistern filled up so slowly that it took nearly 10 minutes between each flush-not acceptable. The shower was pokey and a large person would find it very difficult.
We enjoyed the breakfast which was plentiful.
Parking was plentiful but clients need to be aware that access is from the back of the hotel.
Wi-Fi was available and quick.
Lady spot on, helpfull, no problems, explained the wifi procedure to me in detail, breakfast times etc. Lovely person
