The location of this hotel was great! It was in walking distance to just about anywhere we wanted to be The hotel staff were fantastic. Although they were not able to solve our problems, they were very friendly and did try to do what they could do. The breakfast was fine.
We asked for quiet rooms at the time of booking 5 months prior to our stay. However, we did NOT get quiet rooms. In fact the noise from the street below was very disruptive and disturbed our sleep. The room and our floor was very warm the first 2-3 days/nights. It was stifling and very uncomfortable. We were on the top floor which would explain the heat factor. In order to get some air, we needed to open the window but that was way too noisy making it impossible to sleep. I tried the air conditioning to cool off so that I wouldn't have to open the window but it was not operational. Reception said, as per the town's regulation, air conditioning cannnot be switched on until after May 1st! I specifically checked for hotels with air conditioning when I booked this hotel. So I thougth this was quite unacceptable. We asked for other quieter rooms but were told they were all full. I asked for a fan instead which they happily gave me.
