I liked that the location was extremely close to the venue I was visiting.
My room was mediocre not clean, the fridge was leaking, the windows were full of hand prints the sink and bathtub were both clogged. They did not have complimentary waters the Kruger machine did not work. My complaints to staff was backed up with apologies with no resolve or Plan B.
I am not sure that reviews actually lead to change in hotel practices. But I think it important that managers have some sense of what travelers experience in their hotels. I can say one positive thing about the IHSP: the bed was quite comfortable and the pillows perfect: supportive as well as flexible. Though I increased the room temp to 79 (!), I continued to experience cool to cold air coming through the vent directly facing the bed. In order to read, I needed to get under the bedcovers fully clothed. The telephone did not work. I had to call the hotel with my cellphone and, then, when automatically connected to the front desk, the VM said: "The VM is full and cannot receive any more messages." There was no way to contact the front desk. What would one do in an emergency? Someone convinced the hotel that nothing more than a foot length glass partition was needed in the shower causing much water to spray on to the bathroom floor, soaking the the bathmat and spreading throughout the bathroom floor. Let me note that I am a minimalist shower-taker: not someone who sprays water all over the place. I needed to use a second bathmat and a towel to soak up the water so that I would not slip on the bathroom floor. No hooks in the bathroom on which to hang one's clothing or bathrobe. They had been removed. The bathroom door handle was loose and had to be used carefully. Given the price I paid for a one night stay, I was surprised by the shoddiness of the room, the inability to use the hotel telephone, and a room temperature that was super chilled. Not staying here again.
The room was nice, clean and had everything i needed, except for tea.
That i had to pay an extra deposit up front when I had already spent over £600 for the stay,
Pleasant staff, great location..
Tired hotel, that has seen better days. Not worthy of the Intercontinental brand
Beautiful views, valet was amazing hotel was beautiful.
Outdated, no air conditioning, no air circulation, doors look like your in a prison
I liked that the location was convenient to navigate for the conference I was attending. It was easy to go to see seminars and then take a break in my room if I needed it.
Typically free breakfast is included at hotels this expensive, so that was kind of inconvenient. I wish there was a space for some of those types of things or at the very least vending machines.
Lovely riverfront location. The upgrade to a river view room helped. Excellent service from the front desk, restaurant and housekeeping staff.
Location was excellent. Staff were extremely friendly, but…so disorganized. The view from the room was awesome.
When we arrived there was no T.P. in the room. We called the desk. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally had to go down to the desk and get some. The valet lost my car keys. And finally found them after some panic under a different tag than what I was given.
Also. $40.00/night for parking, with no non-valet option. Hella spendy.
Very comfortable and nice views
Coffee pot did not work and no pool expect a pool
Price of food expensive
