Cons:

Advertised as having a bar which in fact was the breakfast room full of dining tables and an assortment of drinks on a table served by a waiter. No bar vibe at all and disappointing atmosphere

Well situation at 6 mn from centrale station but in a wery quiet street.
Good breakfast buffet except orange Juice which was i think from powder and not drinkable too acid.

Central to train station.
Pros:

Very close to central train station. I travelled to Bologna and Como and Milan Central. Pleasant helpful lady staff at reception cleaning my room and serving meals.
Coffee and water facilities in reception area nice for the weary traveller.
I was there in the heat wave so I was very glad Madison was central for me.

Cons:

Price of city tax very steep 20 euro for 2 nights only 3 in Como a far prettier place than Milan.
Breakfast didn't suit my taste.
It's wonderful to get a pot of breakfast english tea when you travel.

Convenient location to the train station, esp if you need airport transfer.
Pros:

Location close to Milano Centrale, on the Mercato side which is also where the bus for airport transfers are.. We booked a room for 3 people (double and twin) and it was spacious.

Cons:

Our room was on the street level and the lights from the exterior came through the windows even with all the drapery. On one side of the double bed, the flooring had a bubble so it would make a popping sound when stepped on. We got a few mosquito bites, which made us concerned they were bed bugs (but they were not). I felt it was quite pricey (around 350 euros), but only selected it due to location and the beds for 3.
