Rooms need more sockets, ideally beside the bedside table. Good location. Friendly staff who are happy to help.

They gave me a room key for a room already occupied so when I walked in I disturbed a amorous couple. Don’t give me a good feeling as a solo female traveller. The reception were very apologetic though.

Pros:

The accommodation, the room was very nice, clean and quiet. The location of the hotel is ideal. I asked for a quiet room and even though the hotel was probably quite full, I got the room I wanted. Thank you.
Cleaning, water in the room, evening service, everything was great. This time we paid extra for a better room and the difference compared to the last visit is noticeable. I recommend staying in a better category.

Wedding Anniiversary trip
Pros:

The staff look after you so well. Our room was decorated with roses for our special wedding anniversary accompanied by bubbles and chocolate covered strawberries, such a lovely touch. Close to the V&A waterfront - we loved it!

Pros:

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was well service and the before bed service was the best. The food was amazing. Definitely best location as a solo traveler it made it easy to access places of interest.

Cons:

The sauna information was not clear. As assumed it was not unisex.

great location and wonderful welcome
Pros:

Our first trip to Capetown and SA couln't have been better for the welcome and service offered by all of the staff at The Portswood.
Perfectly located for the V&A Waterfront.
Nothing was too much trouible, and the facilities and quality of everything we encountered was excellent.

No hot water and the room is noisy
Pros:

I had no hot water and the aircon makes a lot of noise. Even if I switch off the unit in my room, the unit in the rooms next to me were noisy.
