fantastic stay, the staff were welcoming and attentive. The hotel is beautiful, clean and pristine. We would stay again in a heartbeat.
When I returned to the hotel on my birthday night, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staff had prepared a lovely surprise for me: a greeting card, chocolates, and drinks. It was so warm and touching. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I come back to Barcelona.
Wonderful place for a romantic stay, expensive but definitely worth. Consider it if you are romantic and want to treat your partner as in a fairy tale!
Nice staf. Classy hotel.
We stayed in a renewed room. Good bed, the only minus thing was that you couldn’t put of the heating so it was much to warm to sleep.
This is a beautiful, old world hotel. Opulent architecture that does the city proud. Great staff. Really nice room. Central to everything. Don't miss this Hotel.
If you are looking for an impeccable, well-serviced hotel in an excellent location, this is the right place.
I stayed here for the weekend with my family in two connecting rooms and we had a really great time. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail.
The room doesn't have a good ventilation. The cheapest option have a very tiny small window, so no sunlight come into the room. The bedsheets are dirty. The receptionists are rude. They baked frozen croissant for breakfast looks extremely sad.
We had an absolutely perfect stay at El Avenida Palace in Barcelona for my birthday, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more.
We stayed in the incredible Beatles Suite, which was such a unique and special experience. The room is beautifully themed, full of character, and felt like a real treat from the moment we walked in.
What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. the reception team were wonderful from check-in to check-out. the bar staff were fantastic, especially a really lovely Canadian girl who was so warm and attentive. The housekeeping team were also brilliant and made sure everything was perfect for us.
The breakfast each morning was delicious with a great selection, and the drinks from the bar were lovely too :)the perfect way to relax after a day exploring the city.
Everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere, the service, and the attention to detail made it a birthday I’ll never forget.
We will definitely be back:-)
Great hotel,Great Location,Great Breakfast and staff,Great Room and best of all Great rooft op bar and small swimming pool with Great View over all of Barcelona.Lots of nearby places to eat in a great central location.Special mention to the girls who work at the rooftop bar during the day, you were fantastic!.
Perfect location
Perfect breakfast
Perfect room
Perfect team and service
Perfect experience
We will come back:)
Highly Recommended as South Korean traveler. Good Location, nice staff, delicious foods.Everything was over my expectation.
This is rockstar quality living!! A genuine home from home.
This is a blend of classic Spanish architecture blended with modern refurbished rooms.
But it’s old school in the best of ways …. Heavy keys, personal service and exceptional food and drink.
The Beatles suite is worth it … the rooftop is a 360 panorama of Barcelona… just walking down the the ornate staircases is a joy to your everyday mundane elevation problems …. You aren’t debutante here with every golden step
Finally and a big thank you to all the lovely staff who made us feel we were at home! See you again x
All the staff were great, attentive, kind. The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Location is prime. We will definirely stay here again!
Five-star rating — highly recommended.
Convenient location, warm and attentive service. The rooms are clean and well-equipped.
We stayed in El Avenida for NYE and cannot thank the staff enough for their courteous service, especially the reception. We had a small issue with our room, and even though the hotel was at capacity they were able to resolve this and gifted a bottle of prosecco and chocolates to apologise for the inconvenience, going over and above
The location is perfect, especially for new years festivities
The rooftop (and pool) provided unmatched views
Dining- we only had breakfast here but was very pleased with what was on offer, especially the coffee
Our family of three had a most wonderful stay at your hotel. We enjoyed our 11 days 10 nights and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. The lobby is grand-looking, the rooms are nice and spacious, housekeeping is thorough, buffet is great, beds and pillows are comfy, location is great with H&M, Zara, Primor, Mango and many other shopping nearby, and walking distance to Casa Batlo, Casa Milla, Gothic Qtr etc, as well as close to 2 Metro Stations. In our 11-day stay, we walked to everywhere except for 3 days where we took taxi to Sants Train station & Bus Station for our day trips. Obe suggestion though - good to have a practice where if we were to hang up the bath towels, the housekeeper need not give us new ones everyday, if we want them changed, we can throw them on the floor. This will be more environmentally friendly. Take note though u have to request for toothbrush/toothpaste/bedroom slippers as they r not in the room. Other than that, we loved every min of our stay, special mention goes to Mr Juan Carlos and the housekeepers who always on the heater in our rooms so we always come back to a warm room after a cold day out. Thank you El Avenida Palace Hotel for being part of the reason why we love Barcelona so much!
We chose this hotel based on the pictures and location, we found that it is so much more. From the welcoming staff upon check in, they graciously held our bags for us while we got a jump start on exploring the town. Our rooms were spacious, the persianas made the street noise go to zero, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were huge compared to other hotels we had visited. The staff was always ready to help, they even sent me two different birthday gifts, thank you for the chocolates and juice! We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for 1 week as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) in the renovated family room, which is actually 2 connecting rooms with 2 separate bathrooms. In terms of design, there are no closed closets - its all open closet design. The renovated family room we were in had one small window each and that too looking the back of buildings. There was no balcony or views which would have been nice to have.
Pros:
- Location is top. So easy to walk everywhere and its right in the centre of the downtown. We walked over 20K steps everyday and happily walked to the beach and back many times.
- Sleep Quality: we had 1 week with very good night sleep - minimal noise and very comfortable.
- Breakfast: nice daily buffet with the same offerings every day.
Cons/Improvements that the management can make:
- For a renovated room, you'd expect more luxurious finishing but the room was missing that extra touch. On arrival, the room was missing the basic amenities and we had to call to request for room slippers. There were no bath robes and generally minimal amenities like they are trying to save cost which is not nice when you've paid such a high price. The hotel could add some small touches to make the room feel a bit more luxurious rather than a stripped down basic room.
- Cleaning: Room cleaning was a hit and miss depending on who cleaned that day. One day it was spotless and many days it was the bare minimum cleaning with many dusty areas and uncleaned surfaces. The hotel needs to pay more attention to their cleaning services.
- Water: its not provided daily in the room. Only provided the first day and after that its at a charge. We would expect from such a pricey hotel to have at least water provided everyday for the guests.
- Concierge: The hotel would benefit from a dedicated concierge as we felt planning anything took time and not the best knowledge.
Overall i gave the hotel a 5* as we truly had a comfortable stay and the location made it so easy to go back in the middle of the days to the hotel for a pit stop but i would recommend the hotel do the improvements mentioned to maintain guest satisfaction and ensure they return again and again.
A very good stay, even if only for one night. The business stays for a team meeting in our new office.
This was the third time I have stayed at this hotel! The hotel is in an excellent location with old world elegance but all modern conveniences. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are generally a good size. The family suites in particular are great! Highly recommend staying here!
