It was surprisingly just average. Not much value for an overnight stay.
Pros:

Comfortable bed. Location.

Cons:

Bath drain was broken. This should be checked before having any guest stay in said room.

Amazing stay.
Pros:

From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left the staff were friendly and helpful, polite and made you feel welcomed. The room was quiet, bed very comfortable and the and a good hot shower too start the day. Breakfast was the highlight, the 2 ladies that greeted us each morning with a big smile and a friendly hello just made our day. The breakfast selection was also fantastic. Would defiantly stay again when in Melbourne.

Cons:

Nothing

Awesome. I can't wait for my next chance to visit.
Pros:

Bed was awesome. Location awesome. Building is so beautiful.

Cons:

My curtain didn't work. I enjoy a blacked out room for my afternoon nap. Reception/waiting area could have had more chairs. Milk for coffee and tea could have been a small fresh portion, not long life.

Ageing Intercontinental
Pros:

Down at the quiet end of Collins St, it's a bit of a walk to the centre of town. Take the tram, as the hotel is within the "free tram zone". The hotel is sandwiched between buildings, so the "view" is of the interior of the hotel. Not much to look at, but still better than a brick wall. Hotel is aging, still nice and comfortable. Decent size for the standard room. Tech is ageing - tv and no USB-c means upgrade is needed. During the Grand Prix, you could play with slot cars at the bar.
Breakfast was solid, but not spectacular for a 5-star hotel. Would wonder how they cope when occupancy was higher; as staff were running around and food was running out at some stations.
Pretty good hotel, but needs to improve its' offering.

Pros:

Room was great and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Buffet breakfast. Food was ok but not as wide a selection as usual. No coffee machine which means waiting to order and staff didn't rotate around.

We would recommend the hotel to our friends. Overall we found it good value for money.
Pros:

The staff were lovely. We liked getting the text message to see how we were going. My concern about the air con was addressed immediately.
The breakfasts were lovely.

Cons:

The lack of light was the only real disappointment.

The location was good, the room we stayed in was clean but a bit older. It was good for the fact that it was in the CBD and during peak times!

Cons:

Room was a bit outdated...
