Staff at least attempted to address issues
Has 2 executive rooms. One room king bed was made up with single sheet across top of bed with mattress exposed. Mattress protector was manky. Quilt not in cover and stained like someone had urinated on it.
Bed was remade and staff apologised. Promised $150 discount on $1400 room rate that had been prepaid. Told they couldn’t process directly had to be done via booking.com
Never got the refund.
Frankly even though bed was fixed still felt yuck to sleep in the bed. Unacceptable for price and quality of hotel.
Room was reasonable, bed was comfortable, shower good. Staff are terrific and valet parking was prompt and efficient.
Breakfast was absolute rubbish, even by buffet standards. Air conditioning in room barely worked.

When there was an issue, and there was, the staff were prompt in their response. They apologised and left a free bottle of wine in each of our rooms with an apology card. They also wavered valet parking fee and reduced the room rate for each room. Noting however, given it was a long weekend we were paying $1400 per room per night.
ISSUE- one room the King sized bed was made up with a single bottom sheet put crossways on the mattress, exposing the foot end of the mattress cover, the mattress cover was stained and frankly manky, the quilt was not in the cover, and the quilt had a massive stain that looked like it have been urinated on. It was frankly disgusting.
While it was rectified, it still felt unpleasant sleeping in the bed. Defies logic how the room could have been made up this way.
Also, prior to the stay I had made numerous attempts to contact the hotel, via booking. com; their online contact direct via the hotel web site and via 1800 phone number and phone number direct. I simply wanted to make sure the two rooms that were booked separately were noted as one booking as we booked rooms for a friend's birthday. The 1800 number would not connect. The phone direct number said not available from my service. I got Zero response from the online contact portal and three messages via booking.com thanking me for requesting early book in (which had nothing to do with what I was requesting) - contact with the hotel was impossible. We rectified the booking at check in - but direct communication prior to standing at the check in desk was absolutely impossible and very frustrating

Hotel took $100 bond from credit card that was to be refunded. On checking credit card transactions, was charged $254 and $347 in two separate transactions.

Unorganised, check in 1.45min late due to room not ready, making us late for dinner booking, lazy staff at bar, dirty dishes pilled up at the bar, over charged food, mini bar missing items, room Service app not working. 40 min wait to retrieve car from valet.
Location of this Intercontinental was very convenient to Melbourne city. The rooms were large, modern, and clean, the included breakfast was very diverse and tasty. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was very comfortable.
From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left the staff were friendly and helpful, polite and made you feel welcomed. The room was quiet, bed very comfortable and the and a good hot shower too start the day. Breakfast was the highlight, the 2 ladies that greeted us each morning with a big smile and a friendly hello just made our day. The breakfast selection was also fantastic. Would defiantly stay again when in Melbourne.
