Everything was perfect and staff were so helpful and friendly .I will be coming definitely come back .
I had the prawn curry, and I can honestly say it was one of the best Indian dishes I’ve had anywhere in Harare. Rich aromatic, and perfectly balanced. Complimets to chef Kader. Higly recimended .
A special thanks to the chef, Kadar Sehk for the absolutely mouthwatering indian dishes.
A definite place to go for a delicious indian cuisine
Thank you to Brian at reception for sorting an early check in for me and a taxi transfer. Everything was so efficient! And thank you very much to Colins from The Kitchen who was so warm and welcoming and made me feel like part of the family!
The food was good, the rooms were clean and the spa was brilliant, it had a good deal for in-house guests and Britany did a brilliant job. Thank you!
the rooms are extremely clean and the food was very delicious , l recall eating the african dish of oxtail and rice , it was well cooked and very nice . l also think you should add more variety, on sea food dishes, l wanted prawns but l didnt see them on the list
Hyatt Regency Hotel is one of the best hotel in Harare you could stay in. Their service is exquisite, the staff are so friendly and very professional, they greet you with a smile & i quick to respond any issues that arise. I stayed in one of their suite and every 2 days they would bring me fresh fruits, making sure my water is topped up in the fridge & that my room is clean always. Their food is amazing, I wasn’t very keen on the breakfast but food its self is 👌. I would definitely book again & again
The only down thing with this hotel is their royal & presidential suite is over prized.
Very good food by Indian chef kadir . He make Indian dish real taste . Each dish he make is awesome and each day have is lavishing . The taste
The preparation everything is so accurate . Never forget the dal tadka he make
Every thing is so good and best
I had a fantastic experience at the Hyatt Regency . The hotel is elegant, well-maintained, and offers a great mix of modern luxury and local culture.
A true highlight of my stay was the incredible Indian cuisine prepared by Chef Kader. His hospitality and passion for food shine through in every dish. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly balanced—by far some of the best Indian food I've had, even outside of India! Chef Kader went above and beyond to ensure guests felt at home, taking time to explain dishes and personalize the experience.
Thank you, Chef Kader, for your outstanding food and warm hospitality. You made my visit truly memorable.
If you're staying at the Hyatt Regency Zimbabwe, make sure to try the Indian menu—you won't regret it!
Would definitely return and highly recommend to both business and leisure travelers.
Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles
I just had the worst dining experience of my life at The Kitchen Restaurant . Our drinks came 30 minutes after we ordered them ( I had ordered a whisky btw) . When the drinks came my whisky did not have ice so I asked for some. When the ice finally came it was in another glass with no tool to scoop it out so I had to use my hands, as if I’m at home. At one point we had no cutlery on the table and when we asked for that it took another 20 minutes. We ended up taking cutlery from the other empty tables because the food was getting cold . Then cue the food. It was inedible . The oxtail that was ordered was overcooked and bland , the veggies were basically raw, my steak was burnt and tasted like cardboard. And to top it all off after I sent my food back to the kitchen twice, they still had the gall to bill me for it when I hadn’t even eaten anything???? When I complained about the service to the manager , he had the guts to tell me that our waitress was a trainee??? So unprofessional ! What made this whole experience even more infuriating is that this was meant to be a special Mother’s Day dinner with my mom and my wife’s mom which was completely ruined. I am never coming back again . The staff are completely incompetent and need to be retrained and the chef needs to be fired and replaced with some one who actually knows how to cook. They need to spend less time and money on decorating and more on ensuring that their customers actually get good food and service . Five star my foot! 0/10 would not recommend.
It’s was ok
My name is Tinotenda I had a reservation from the 13th of April to the 19th this was the best time of my life everything was just amazing and esthetic I felt like a new person when I was staying at Hyatt Regency thank you so much guys and I can’t complain everything was perfect and everything was nice and polite . This is the best Hotel in town if you are looking for the words Fancy and esthetic
Old section is showing it age and the new wing is not yet complete and there are no rooms in that wing available. The lobby has been redone and they have lost the feel of old Harare....( we have stayed at the Meikle many times in the past) ...t's now shiny marble.....much like any other new upscale hotel. The reception staff was very good as was most staff. The breakfast and lunch buffet is very good, but diner is another matter. Our service was very poor or nonexistent.....my wife order the hamburger patty that was so tough that it couldn't be cut....I order a salad that was OK...we ordered one bowl cream....all that took an hour and a half and we never got the ice-cream or the bill before getting up and walking out. Menu selection is limited. You're taking your chances at diner.
The food was spectacular and fresh at all times. The workers were friendly and helpful. The conferance that I came for, which was hosted at your hotel was a big success. The hospitality of the workers here is very good and professional. The cleanliness of the hotel is super.
Staff ave very helpful and polite.
If you’re looking for a reasonably comfortable hotel with a central location this is not a bad option, but it’s pretty forgettable in every way. I don’t see how they can get away with $300+ per night, which is more than a significantly better hotel I stayed at in Dar es Salaam prior. Also my driver pickup at dinner was nearly 30 min late.
Went for dinner with the family. The food was terrible. Ordered a beef brisket that's usually supposed to be very tender. It was very chewy and hard. Ended paying for another meal so that another family member could at least eat. The chef never came to the table despite the complaints. This is very subpar from a hotel.like this
This was my second time visiting, The staff are great, from the porters, front office, resturant , housekeeping. Amazing experience, great staff who are very well trained and so friendly!
I love how beautiful they have made the reception area look as well as the resturant.
The rooms are not so bad but maybe require abit of an upgrade, but they are super clean and well taken care of.
My wife and I spent a night here as we were traveling to Victoria Falls. I used points for a deluxe king with access to the executive lounge. They upgraded me to a full blown suite that was beautiful.
The executive lounge was also great. It’s a little unorthodox as it operates as a poolside bar and they don’t offer breakfast. (This might be due to construction.) They have a tremendous happy hour, though, from 6-8:00 with free alcohol and food. Everything about it was great including our server, Timothy. He was very friendly and professional.
We had a couple of issues, however. The WiFi was lousy. Also, the concierge service was bad. Prior to arrival I tried to book a transfer from the airport in conjunction with 2 stops at some tourist sights. I contacted the hotel 3-4 times over the course of 10-12 days to see if they could help. Eventually they got back to me a few days after I booked elsewhere. We subsequently booked a transfer to the airport with the hotel and the driver was great. It made me regret the earlier problem even more.
Although there were a few glitches, I thought the place was great would definitely stay here again.
Our stay at the Hyatt Meikles Hotel in Harare this past December was nothing short of exceptional. Visiting during one of the hottest months of the year, I was initially concerned about how comfortable it would be, but the hotel exceeded my expectations in every way and we found it to be of very high standard.
Location and Atmosphere:
The hotel’s central location in Harare, right by Africa Unity Square, offers stunning views of the city and is conveniently close to major attractions, restaurants, and business hubs. Despite the heat outside, the hotel is a refreshing oasis within the Harare City, with perfectly maintained greenery, shaded areas and the amazing new Pool Deck on First Floor.
Rooms:
The room I stayed in was spacious, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. The air conditioning was a blessing, especially in the December heat, and maintained a comfortable temperature throughout my stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with high-quality linens that made resting after a long, sunny day feel like pure indulgence. We also appreciated the blackout curtains, which allowed me to sleep in even with the early morning sun. The views from my room were spectacular, offering a glimpse of the vibrant city and the lush greenery of the square.
Service:
The staff at Hyatt Meikles were absolutely world-class. From the moment we checked in, we were treated with warmth, professionalism and the service was consistently excellent.
Dining:
Dining at the hotel was a highlight and both Breakfast & Dinner were exceptional in their own right. The breakfast buffet at The Kitchen restaurant was extensive, featuring both local Zimbabwean dishes and international options. With the heat outside, the fresh fruits and juices were incredibly refreshing, and the air-conditioned dining room provided a cool and pleasant dining environment. We also had dinner a few times at the The Kitchen, where I enjoyed a fantastic dinner. The menu had a great selection of both local and international dishes, and everything was prepared to perfection. Dinner highlight was the New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet with a Live Band and the talented young DJ Thirst on decks seeing us into the new year.
Amenities:
The pool area was a wonderful retreat, especially in the hot weather and I have to say that we spent most of our time by the Pool Deck Bar area catching sunsets in Harare. It’s well-shaded with plenty of loungers and umbrellas, and the staff were quick to offer drinks or snacks. I did not get a chance to use The Gym but I did notice that The Gym is well-equipped with latest equipment and it’s air-conditioned.
Conclusion:
Overall, the new Hyatt Meikles Hotel in Harare is an exceptional place to stay, particularly in the hot summer months. The cool, luxurious environment inside contrasts beautifully with the sunny, warm climate outside, making it a perfect base for anyone visiting the city. Whether you're there for business or leisure, this hotel provides an outstanding balance of comfort, service, and convenience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Harare and will certainly return on our next trip … of which we are already planning.
Amazing staff members.
