Loved the decor in the lobby and the room, loved the complementary coffee, drinks and reusable water bottle. Particularly loved the branding and dog-friendliness
Some intermittent buzz/drone during the night, likely from outside the hotel. Occasional drain-like smell, again likely from outside the hotel
Staypineapple is a beautiful hotel. I loved the decor! It definitely was a 5 star hotel! The staff were super friendly! I read reviews about homeless nearby, but we hardly encountered any. We felt very safe walking back to our hotel at night. We parked our expedition max at a parking garage nearby which the very nice hotel clerk ( I think his name is Ryan) recommended. We paid $60 a night. We left our car there the whole time and it was in good hands. It was a 10 minute walk to the cable car stop and we walked to Oracle Park ( about 30 minutes). We loved our stay at Staypineapple!
poco
Every member of staff were so friendly and helpful. There was nothing too much for them. The room although on the smallish size was still perfectly adequate for us. The bathroom had constant hot water at all times of the day and the room itself was spotless. The whole of the hotel was designed in a very classic style and gave a fantastic first impression. By far the biggest plus for the hotel was it's staff.
No bar, no food, poor internet in the bedroom and no coffee lounge although there was a diy coffee machine in the reception area. There was a lot of outside noise during the night times but this cannot be the responsibility of the hotel but maybe something the local council could work on. Having said that none of the negatives detracted from our stay.
We love Staypineapple hotels. Bed was comfortable. Nice decor.
Couldn’t control the temp of the room enough, too warm to sleep in. Bed is WAY TO HIGH if you have a small dog which is why we did t bring her this time. And the room is super small. Had to house our 4 large luggage’s at a friend’s house during our stay. Also encountered 7 homeless people within 3 blocks of the hotel.
Great location and the rooms were comfortable
Ubicacion exclente de Holliwood
The room was clean and comfortable.
This is in an extremely noisy area. Some of the noise might have actually been coming from the hotel itself. It was noisy at night, making it difficult to sleep. Half of the TV channels weren't working, the refrigerator wasn't working, the phone wasn't working. The internet went down. Check-in took too long, the elevator was slow and depending on where you are coming from, there were few public transportation routes to take you back uphill.
The hotel was nice and clean on the inside. The staff was friendly.
The location is very bad situation wise. It is located near Union Square and close to downtown. But the Union Square area is just filled with homeless folks all over. When you leave the hotel, there is at least 20 homeless people on every block for several blocks in any direction you go. They didn't really bother us except a few asked for money, but they still feel threatening, so you have to be very aware of what they're doing. San Francisco city government says they have done a good job cleaning up the homeless situation. They have not. They just moved them out of the business district and other high profile tourist areas, forcing them to other areas of town less traveled.
Although the hotel is nice on the inside, there is nothing going on there. It appears there is a small but nice lobby/reception/bar area, but it's shut down and doesn't appear anything is being done to reopen it , so there was no social life in there. No restaurant either. So it's just a place to sleep...if you can. The hotel is right on a major street, so there is noise 24 hours. It's a very old historical style hotel, so it has no noise installation.
The rooms are small more like New York style small rooms, but it okay unless you have a lot of stuff. Maybe I would say very cozy.
Location was excellent for the city centre. Member of staff who checked us in - can't remember her name - was exceptionally friendly and gave all relevant information regarding the hotel. The room was very well equipped.
Front desk service, welcome drinks room so comfortable
There was only 1 microwave for the hotel guest to use in the main lobby for food to be reheated after exploring the city
Room smallish, nice and clean
Location isn't great in as much many homeless around
