Inside the facility cozy and comfy, outside keep your head on a swivel

That part of Post street leaves alot to be desired. We rode the ferry from vallejo and walked to the hotel. We were pulling a small suitcase and just past union square I had to carry if to keep it out of all the excrement on the sidewalk. Then one block away there was a guy on thd ground with his ass hanging out snorting off the sidewalk. I picked Courtyard ouf of familiarity and was dissapointed at the street vibe. I am actually a bit surprised marriott boughg the old Maurice in that neighborhood

I would not book this hotel again or recommend it.
Pros:

The doorman/security was good. It was quiet inside the hotel.

Cons:

There was no heat in the room when we arrived. The desk clerk (who was new on the job) knew nothing. The hotel manager said the room would warm up. It did not. The next day we asked for an extra blanket and told the desk clerk we had no heat.
Later, the same day, we asked for a maintenance person to fix our heating. In fact, the building handyman came that evening and was able to get the heat working.
Unfortunately, the neighborhood the hotel is in is seedy and rundown. Many of the buildings are shuttered and street people rule the sidewalks, especially at night.

nice hotel near to all things san Francisco
Pros:

nice hotel in heat of san Francisco union square - close to all major attraction of san francisco - many dinning and shopping option near by - cable car takes you to china town and fisherman wharf - metro station also nearby.
hotel was clean, comfortable bed and pillow - coffee making machine in the room -
requested late checkout which was allowed till 1 pm.

welcome drinks, pop corn, fruits + other snacks at reception.
