First time back in 15 years. Great experience and the hotel is much more quiet and refined, compared to when it was a Starwood property. Loved the pool and Beach House restaurant. Amazing and convenient location to West LA and UCLA. Kat A. was stellar at check-in and upgraded our room to get us more space and a serene view of the neighborhood. We’ll be back!
Was lucky enough to get a room last minute for a business trip and Edward made this temporary stay unforgettable for me. Had a very stressful day and he made my check-in very smoothly and went above and beyond with a room upgrade. Thank you!
I like shower and good comfortable bed
Windows shatters very old also super expensive food
The location to UCLA was excellent. The staff was VERY kind.
Limited hours for the outdoor restaurant and limited services by the pool. But assume it will get better as we get closer to summer.
Had an ok stay here. I was traveling on business and they upgraded my room to a two bedroom penthouse suite which was super kind. I have Ambassador status with Marriott so they treated me mostly nicely.
Pros and cons. Pros were the day time staff was friendly upon check in and the night time staff not super friendly or helpful. I had issues with room service as the online menus did not work on the QR code and there was nowhere else to review the menu as it was later at night. I had to call three separate times for a paper menu and the staff pushed me around a lot. I explained to them I was getting a bit annoyed. My room was ok- in theory a room upgrade is nice but the television in the primary room did not work. It was basically set up like a screen projector and didn’t connect to cable or apps or anything. The living room tv also did not work. And there was a huge wet spot around the bed with very very soaked wet cold water which kind of creeped me out meaning every time you got in or out of bed your feet or socks got wet.
I ended up attempting the gym which was pretty small and got very crowded so I ended up just doing cardio which was fine. I kind of thought given it was Los Angeles the gym may be more of a focal point. I made do.
All in all it was an ok stay and I think some things could be improved.
Great business hotel if you want to be in West LA/near UCLA. Directly across the street from UCLA. Easy walk to restaurants and shops of Westwood. Easy commute around West LA/Santa Monica area. Service has been good. Good upgrades for high status level at Bonvoy. Rooms are nice--a little dated but suites are fantastic with space and places to work, play, and sleep. Nice gym but gets credit.
Just stayed here with my family and couldn't be happier. The staff is incredibly warm — special shout-out to Director of Welcome Office Serkan who made us feel right at home. Rooms are spotless and stylish, location super close to Westwood. Kids lived in the pool, we loved sunset drinks on the rooftop with LA skyline. Everything screams classic W energy. Will definitely return.
I was in charge of arranging accommodations for 12 doctors, and 3 of staff (including myself).
Our situation was unique in a way that I couldn't give up all of the details regarding our needs, because our list of people wasn't complete until the very last minute.
Brandon Henderson was my contact, and he was great. He explained everything, and walked me through what was needed on his side. He worked with me for days getting contacts signed, dismissive l finalizing our rooming list, and getting me quick answers whenever my organization had questions.
When you have someone that is attentive, quick responding, and knowledgeable, trust me when I say it makes your life a whole lot more enjoyable. Once the technical part was complete, I was then introduced to Tyler Johnson who would be our contact at the hotel.
I immediately needed her assistance as we were still adding and deleting names from our list. She was on it right away. I never had to wait more than a few minutes to an hour for results. Thank you again Tyler.
Somehow, one of our staff wasn't added to the rooming list when they arrived, and all it took was one phone call to Tyler and she fixed the situation in minutes. That made my member very happy. When my members are happy, I'm happy.
I have to give a good word for all of the supporting staff, because they were great as well. From the crew out at the curb, the waiting staff in the restaurant, and the crew at the registration desk, our experience was, without question, WONDERFUL!!!
Thank you all again for the great experience. We look forward to staying at your hotel in the future.
Location was perfect, quoted price was better than all of the others, value for the dollar was more than acceptable, atmosphere was inviting, rooms were very clean, noise level was non existent, and we had a really good time.
The W made our Christmas vacation so much more special. To start the greeting in the lobby was so warm and hospitable. Daniel Bruington was a stand out amongst the staff. His poise and charisma made us feel right at home. The suite was exactly what we needed. Perfect amount of space for us. Clean and cozy. Both the restaurant and pool bar were a treat. Michigan winters are not to be taken lightly, so my family enjoyed the warm sun on their face relaxing at the pool. If you're looking for a hotel that is central to everything LA, this is the place for you. It took us no more than 20 minutes to get to where we needed to go. A quiet and cozy sanctuary in the heart of Los Angeles. Worth every penny. I must give one more shout out to the amazing staff that made sure my brother got his important documents back after they were left in his room. They went above and beyond for us and we are forever grateful.
I travel a lot for work and always look forward to staying at thr W Los Angeles in West Beverly Hills. The location is great (lots of walkable restaurants) and the rooms are spacious. The people who work there are always friendly and warm and make a habit of remembering repeat visitors. Kiara at the front desk goes above and beyond to make me feel welcome and appreciated as a guest. She is personable and friendly - and has really made the W my hotel of choice.
Overall, a decent option when staying in Los Angeles—but it’s important to set expectations. Despite the name, this hotel is not really Beverly Hills. “West of Beverly Hills” would be a more accurate description. It’s firmly in the Westwood neighborhood, and extremely close to the UCLA campus, which makes it convenient if you’re visiting UCLA or the medical center.
Getting to actual Beverly Hills takes a bit of a drive, though—as always in LA—that largely depends on traffic.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, which was a positive. However, the hotel itself feels somewhat dated, particularly the rooms, and the overall atmosphere felt a bit empty. The departure of the steakhouse seems to have left a noticeable gap, contributing to the quieter, less vibrant feel of the property.
In short: fine for a functional LA stay or UCLA visit, but not the experience one might expect based on the Beverly Hills branding.
The room
The toat bag scared me. No lock on bathroom
I recently stayed at the W Hotel in Los Angeles for a few nights (1/12/26 - 1/14/26, and what truly made the experience memorable was the incredible customer service, especially from Kiara. I loved how the staff went above and beyond to make us feel valued and at home. Everyone was friendly, from the concierge, valet, and housekeeping.
My stay was short for business, but relaxing.
I enjoyed the size and the soft colors of my room.
My travel agent booking app mentioned a sauna, I believe it is a mistake on the agent's end. I would have loved to use it before winding down...
I will definitely use the pool when the weather is warmer and not windy.
A little detail: I would ask to double check the heating of the room.
I raised mine to 80, but had still fresh air coming out.
I like a warm temperature before sleeping or getting off the shower.
Other than that, I liked the space, the modernity and the cleanliness of the hotel.
Thank you, Hotel GM Mike Powers, and your team for your warm welcome and follow up.
