It's a good hotel. The rooms aren't massive but they are modern and well kept. the location is very good, about 30s from the railway station and a few minutes from the Royal Mile, castle, trams and bus tours.
Reception and breakfast are on the top floor which means there's a great view. The view from the rooms is good if you're above the second floor. They didn't really explain on the website that the cheapest rooms are on the lowest two floors.
Breakfast is pretty good, they're a little bit fussy about booking a time slot each day and the cooked breakfast is a bit on the small side.
The hotel is perfectly situated in Edinburgh Old Town. We were able to walk everywhere (restaurants, attractions, shopping) without issue. The hotel itself is great. The small-ish rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. But best of all, the staff was incredible welcoming, helpful, and friendly.
Fantastic hotel in a great location with easy access to anything you'd likely want to visit in the city. Very warm welcome at reception and the rooms are fantastic.
Beautiful building , fast checking and a glass of champagne which was nice , small compact room , but it was so well stocked with everything, full fridge beer , wine , gin , snacks and was filled every day , the room was so quite it was right next to the station , but you couldn’t here anything once inside the building , the view from the roof top bar was fantastic, I would definitely be back ❤️well done don’t change it management x

Il fatto che non ci sia un ulteriore angolo in comune a parte la reception con annessa sala colazione che si trova all'ultimo piano.
Il materasso è improponibile 3 dita e non più, quindi non permette un buon riposo.
L'avere pur essendo al secondo piano la finestra chiusa .

We visited Edinburgh from the Faroe islands to celebrate my wife's birthday. During our 4 night-stay at Market Street Hotel, we felt so welcomed, especially by their reception, restaurant and housekeeping teams. The city of Edinburgh was gorgeous (which we already knew), but the staff there, with their curtesy and warmth, left us such a lasting impression on what the Scottish people are really like.
Went for a family birthday celebration, ages 10 to 70, Fantastic Hotel, couldn't fault the hotel, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and a great location, would definitely recommend and I'd stay there again.
