Pros:

Our room was great and the oceanfront location was amazing. The pool bar was great. We liked all of the bartenders. Some music by the pool and pool bar would be nice.

Cons:

Could use a slight update. Additional kitchen counter space would be nice.

Just what I wanted. Except for the chicken.
Pros:

Ocean view and adjacent to Coconut Marketplace and Farmers Market

Cons:

Sheets were worn through in some small places. Chicken kept roosting for the night on our third floor lanai. Didn’t know one small bird could poop that much.

Great resort on the beach and within walking distance to shops.
Pros:

Great location on the beach. Walking path alongside the beach, which goes for miles if you like.
My room location request was fulfilled. The room was perfect for my needs. I wish the overhead light in kitchenette worked.
The office staff were great, and special kudos to Peggy who goes above and beyond with answers to your questions and other needs.

Cons:

Everything met my expectations, and I would stay here again!

Very pleasant.
Pros:

Location near beach.

Cons:

Room was clean, but old and could use update. (door to lanai was ‘cloudy’, I expect from the seal damaged for the double paned glass). Interior of AC unit (on lanai) looked dirty, so we didn’t use it.

Paradise in Kauai.
Pros:

Excellent location especially with the ocean in the front and Coconut Marketplace in the back of the resort that helps us to shop around and buy food with many convenient stores.

Nice property ruined by cockroaches
Pros:

The property itself is actually very nice. The location is great, the grounds are beautiful, and it looks like it could be a really enjoyable place to stay. Unfortunately, the rooms are completely overrun with cockroaches. We saw multiple roaches crawling around the room and bathroom during our stay. It completely ruined the experience. It’s a shame because the hotel has a lot of potential, but the pest problem makes it impossible to feel comfortable staying here.

Good with a couple of negatives
Pros:

We stayed a couple of nights in February at the end of a longer trip. Overall we were pleased with the property.
Pros:
Good location - on the beach, with shops, restaurants, etc. all walking distance. Pool and hot tub area was very nice, and the bar area was fun and lively in the afternoons. The staff we encountered both at the front desk and the bar were friendly and engaging.
Cons:
We paid in excess of $1K for 2 nights for an "oceanfront" room. My expectations and what their website pictures portrayed were different than what I got. The building my room was in lied perpendicular to the ocean, not parallel, so my view was actually a side ocean view with a view of the building next door. I have booked many oceanfront rooms over the years, and this one was pretty disappointing. I would classify this room as "oceanview" not "oceanfront".....which was a definite price difference. Passing along as something to be aware of if you book direct with Aston....you may not get the room you see in the pictures.
While the pool area was very nice, the pool was cold and unheated. This may not be an issue on a sunny 80-85 degree day, but unfortunately, the weather when we were there was cool and overcast, so we weren't able to use the pool.
One last thing to be aware of, the complex itself is large and very spread out. If you have any mobility issues, this could prove to be a problem, depending on what room class you book. It was quite a trek from where the parking area is and where our room was located, and we were on the 3rd floor with no elevators. We're both in good shape, so it wasn't an issue for us, but the long walk to our building and schlepping luggage up 2 flights of stairs would have been an issue for our 80 year old parents.
Overall, I liked the Hawaiian vibe of the property and the location, so I would stay here again, but I would not pay extra for a view unit unless I was booking direct with the owner and could see actual pictures.

Great Two Weeks in Paradise
Pros:

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed our room which had a great view of the ocean and was literally only steps away! The room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very centrally located near shops, restaurants, tours and a host of beaches.

Expensive for What You Received
Pros:

There are oceanfront properties on either side of this one. I would not go back to this one. At over $400 a night it was not worth the price. The front desk people were all nice except one. There is no help available for dragging your luggage up and down the stairs. The rooms are in serious need of updating to include things like charging ports. The amenities listed in the resort fee were not provided like daily coffee from Imu Coffee.

Fabulous!!!
Pros:

We loved everything about this stay. The staff was great, the rooms perfect, an absolute perfect location right on the ocean. We loved the pool, the hot tub, the bar/restaurant, everything. Can't wait to go back there!!!
