Pros:

Very disappointed the way this heritage building is kept. Its needs a good clean, carpets were filthy.
The staff were polite and welcoming. The food was good.

Cons:

The view we had was awlful! Litter on the street and a wall in front.

Comfortable, and central. A classic old hotel
Pros:

A classic "Old Lady" steeped in history. Rooms were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Cindy.

Cons:

It is an old establishment, and does require a bit of maintenance. It is located in the centre of town, so may be a bit noisy. We were initially given street front rooms, but were later moved to inner rooms on the recommendation of the staff, due to the expected Saturday night noise!

A beautiful step back in time at the Kimberley Club—rich in history, deeply special, but bittersweet against the decline
Pros:

The history is exceptional. The building is beautiful. It’s a time capsule. The staff was very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable on the history of the club. Stayed in the Rhodes room which made it so much more interesting. This club and its history has to be preserved. It’s special.

Cons:

The area that the club is in has gone down. Typically what many CBD’s have become in SA cities and towns. This obviously totally out of the control of the club and down to local government. I really hope that the area can get an uplift somehow in the future, a bit of a dream, but one remains hopeful.

Comfortable and historically most interesting.
Pros:

I enjoyed the historical paintings, photos, maps best. What a jewel!

Staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.
