The most wonderful hotel.
Pros:

I stayed at the Hotel Yak & Yeti for a business trip. They helped me organise all the airport transfers and taxis in general throughout our stay. They had the most warm, welcoming and helpful staff. Barsha & Muskaan stood out for me, they had such a great energy and made my time in Nepal that next level of happiness. They were kind, considerate and professional. The food here is gorgeous, the catering team and staff are so responsive and Japad really made my stay a happy one. I would recommend this to anyone heading to Nepal. Great location too!

A must-stay in Kathmandu!
Pros:

I have stayed at the Yak and Yeti twice now, and I have to say the moment you step into the Yak & Yeti Hotel, you feel it—an immediate sense of grounded elegance paired with genuine human warmth. As someone who has spent a career thinking about well-being, resilience, and the environments that foster both, I can say this place gets it right on every level.

There’s a kind of quiet coherence here. The architecture honors history without feeling dated, the gardens offer a calming, almost restorative presence, and the staff consistently demonstrate a level of attentiveness that feels both professional and deeply authentic. That balance—between excellence and humanity—is rare.

What stands out most—truly—is how extraordinary the staff are. Their presence isn’t just helpful; it’s uplifting. Every interaction reflects a kind of mindful engagement that goes beyond hospitality into something more meaningful. They listen, they notice, they respond—not mechanically, but with a sincerity and emotional intelligence that is deeply reassuring. In psychological terms, they create an environment of trust and ease almost instantly, which has a measurable impact on how welcomed and settled you feel.

What impressed me further is how effortlessly the hotel supports both productivity and relaxation. Whether you’re preparing for a demanding day of work or simply seeking a space to recalibrate, the environment adapts to you. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, providing comfort without excess, and the overall atmosphere encourages clarity of mind.

And again, it’s the people who elevate everything. The team seems to anticipate needs before they’re even articulated, and they do so with grace and consistency. That kind of intuitive service is not easily taught—it reflects a culture of care that is clearly embedded in the organization.

I love the 4th floor Executive Level’s High Tea, Happy Hour and endless snacks – 24 hours a day. They even made a cake for our expedition team welcoming us back with traditional shawl scarves and unmatched, authentic hospitality.

I want to publicly thank Shradha Upreti, Front Office Executive, and her Club Shangri-La Team members Amar and Suman - they are rockstars of service and kindness!

My favorite room (530), a 2 room suite, looks out over the beautiful, private grounds in the back with white ducks, gardens, ponds and pool. Just as beautiful to look out on as it is to be in.

And the breakfast is great, which at home I would skip, but not here!

In a city as vibrant and dynamic as Kathmandu, the Yak & Yeti stands out as a place of both refuge and connection. It doesn’t just meet expectations—it elevates them, quietly and confidently.

If you’re looking for a stay that supports both your external goals (like a bucket list climb to Everest Base Camp) and your internal well-being, this is a place I recommend without hesitation.

Peaceful Stay in Kathmandu
Pros:

I stayed at Hotel Yak & Yeti for 2 nights and had a great experience. The hotel has a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was good, but I feel the variety could be improved.

Overall, I’m very satisfied and would definitely stay again.

A Great Stay that had all the Amenities.
Pros:

The property was outside the busy area, but still in walking distance to shops. The staff were very attentive, breakfast was loaded by plenty of variety. The rooms were a good size for two large suitcases.
The grounds were good for some exercise.
We had a few stays within a few weeks, so leaving our luggage stored was not a problem.
Massages were a great touch also.

Cons:

Yak and Yeti is fantastic!
Pros:

I travel to Nepal for my trekking and climbing business. I always stay at the Yak and Yeti for myself and my clients. Close to Thamel, a popular tourist area with lots of shopping options. Beautiful lawn and garden on the property for walking and photos. But the wonderful breakfast buffet is my favorite! Omelette bar, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, doughnuts, traditional Nepali dishes, yogurt and juice bar. Unlimited fresh espresso drinks! The breakfast manager, Salikram, always greets us with a smile and warm greeting and has been a staple here for several years.
If you stay in Kathmandu, you can’t go wrong at the Yak and Yeti

A Historically Beautiful and Wonderful Experience
Pros:

We spent three nights at the Yak and Yeti during our recent trip to India and Nepal. I had looked around for hotels in Kathmandu and had my eye on the Yak and Yeti due its historical significance and am so glad I chose it for our stay. This is a wonderfully beautiful hotel with exceptional service, right in the center of Kathmandu. Our rooms, on the third floor, were large with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and shower and connections to YouTube and other streaming services, along with local channels. I would have wanted to eat at Chimneys but the timing wasn't there so we ended up eating at the Spice Room for the fantastic breakfast and once for lunch. The food was delicious and the expansive breakfast offers many western choices, especially important for people like myself with stomach issues. There is one server at the Spice Room, whose name I wrote down but lost, was just wonderful and remembered everything we ordered from previous breakfasts. He was just wonderful. The hotel grounds are beautiful and it's worth seeing the interior of the older building as the hotel has much character and history. Location was also wonderful, about a block and a half from Durbar Marg and about a 10 minute walk to Thamel. The Yak and Yeti is Nepal, and I'd go back in a heartbeat!!!
