Pelham Hotel

My room had a mildew smell and the air conditioner leaked. There wasn’t a lot of light in the room, but it was manageable.
It should also be clearer about the valet situation.

The A/C didn’t work in the rooms, our or our friends room. We turned down the thermostat and it never got below 71° in the rooms, which I believe it was closer to 75°, and that’s just what you want in August in New Orleans, a hot room to sleep in. It was colder in the hallway than the rooms. There was a very stagnant mildew smell in the rooms. Every time we flushed our toilet it smelled like raw sewage. And we found a long black hair in our bedsheets. My husband is bald and I am blonde. Also, when you turn your vehicle over to valet, it’s pretty much no longer your vehicle. They will not let you keep your keys once the vehicle has been valet’d, nor will they let you ride to see where your vehicle will be parked, which is a block and half away on a completely different property. And if anyone is familiar with New Orleans, having your vehicle vandalized is completely the norm there. When we requested our vehicle for checkout it took 25mins to have it brought back to the hotel. This has been one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had.

The cleaning service could be at least every other day. The hotel took the deposit in cash and charged my card. I couldn’t get the cash back until
after check out and the deposit had a hold on my credit card until after 24 hours after check out.

O quarto que no atribuíram tinha barulho e vibração de equipamento elétricos ou de ventilação muito incomodativo. O autoclismo da sanita da casa de banho descarregava a cada 30 a 45 minutos. Noite muito mal dormida. Relatei este factos na recepção à primeira hora da manhã (7:00 AM) e nada mais fizeram ou acrescentaram do que uma simples desculpa.

The room was super small and not what was advertised on website. It did not have a bar as advertised.

That smell in the hallway

We felt a "scammer" vibe from the time of check-in itself. The lady at the reception initially allotted us apparently a "very small" room and said we can pay $20/night extra for a bigger room. I showed her that we booked a 33m sq room. After 10 min of pretend suddenly we were alotted the "biggest" room in our category.
Turns out, it was the room we actually booked. We were initially alotted a 19msq room!!!!

Similarly, water bottles were placed in the room. They never had a tag that they are chargeable. Even when we asked replacements, we were never told. When we asked for replacements the third time, new lady today how she hopes we know that they are chargeable. We were shocked! They charged us about $14 for water!!

It's a comfortable clean place with a convenient location, but be careful!
