Pros:

Fraud? Worst experience of my entire traveling life. I am a professional writer and I travel all over the world. This hotel took 12 days of pre-reserve money from me and wasn’t even open for business. We tried for two days prior to my arriving to call them to check on things like Internet accessibility and no one answered the phone. Red flag.

When I got there, gates were locked, it was run down, closed up, stray cats in the yard, what looked like squatters in the building, unkempt, bare dirt in the back entrance. One filthy car behind the gate. It looked like the set for a horror movie.

There I was in the middle of a very questionable and not-so-safe neighborhood in rural Sicily with nowhere to stay and still no one answering the “hotel” phones.

Expedia got right on it, but after several days they were also unable to contact the hotel. It has now been almost two weeks. Expedia is refunding my money but it will likely take another week for the refund to go through. I am grateful that I went through Expedia. Had I booked online I would have probably lost my money.

I cannot recommend this property. Even if they do go into business in the future, the surroundings are terrible.

Beware.
