Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen
Pros:

Es war sehr schön, das Hotel wirkt wie ein altes charmantes Herrenhaus/Schloss, teilweise etwas renovierungsbedürftigt, aber mit Flair!!
Das Personal war sehr engagiert und freundlich.

I regularly book the Angel. Usually good value and a great location
Pros:

Location. Walkable from railway and bus station and opposite Bute Park.
Large clean room.

Cons:

Back room- view of large pipes through half obscured window. Flashing on roof or similar meant loud sound of water constantly dripping when raining.

Not awful like some 3 star hotels. Particularly good for a budget hotel which is still nice.
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and i got a free upgrade to a larger room. This historic building is situated in a great location. I may be more inclined to choose this hotel again. Over an often duller modern hotel, which is lacking in character.

Just so long as it wasn't extremely hot. You do get a large desk fan in your room, which is normally good enough. Just so long as there is not one of those. Admittedly very unusual, extreme heat waves we have had this year.

Unlike the lobby and corridors, which looked worn and tired. With there being some small stains i observed on the carpets. My bedroom did not look unkempt, rather it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The furniture was clearly old, but old doesn't necessarily mean bad.

Other than the shabby looking old lampshade, the bedroom still looked nice. There is a lift but if you are a disabled person. Make sure you call up before you book to make sure it is working. The breakfast buffet was great value for money and only cost ten pounds.

I have had a much better (But also far more expensive) breakfast in other hotels. But the food was still nice and i did enjoy it. There was cooked food such as sausages, fried eggs and hash browns etc along with cold food. Such as breakfast cereals and things like bowls of yogurts and various fruits.

This hotel lacks some of the comforts and features, that you get in other more modern hotels. There is free and decently fast free wi fi. However besides no air conditioning, this hotel is not for you. If you care about there being things such as a gym, health spa, pool and heated flooring etc

There is however apparently evening entertainment on some nights. Which you don't usually get even in most 4 star hotels. This hotel is great If you are looking for a place to stay, but don't care for a more luxurious hotel. Rather you want to save money, but for it to still be nice.

Unlike some 3 star hotels this place is not awful.

Cons:

Personally i would prefer to stay in a historic hotel like this which has character. However It was disappointing, how worn and unkempt the walls and carpets are in the corridors and lobby. It would be wonderful if this establishment was restored to its former glory. The elderly and disabled, would also certainly not be happy, about a lift that does not work (at least while i was there).

This food is quite nice but can be improved upon. Without going as far as serving the sort of gourmet food, that it is not reasonable to expect in a budget hotel. This hotel is good value for money and i would stay here again. Though certainly not during one of those extreme heatwaves we have been having. Due to the lack of air conditioning.

Lovely area to explore
Pros:

Charming, historical building with fantastic location. 24 hour front desk. Great breakfast. Quiet and clean.

Cons:

Things very run down. For instance, tap in bathroom could not be turned off, carpets look grubby, common areas in need of TLC. Perfectly fine for a couple of nights and clean and good value.

Pros:

O elevador estava a funcionar.

Cons:

We had a good stay, but it was very hot in an attic room with very stained carpet. It was as if red wine had tipped over
Pros:

It is very central

Cons:

There were stains all over the carpet. The carpet needed a good shampoo.

Definitely return, staff are so lovely and breakfast was stunning.
Pros:

Breakfast was great, lovely friendly staff the only negative is no air conditioning so the room was very hot although we did have a fan. But perfect otherwise.

Cons:

Only air conditioning. Everything else was perfect.
