Pets are welcome - there is a £15 per pet per stay supplement. Also a £100 damage deposit is required at check in- this is returned at check out - minus the £15 supplement & and any damage.
Pets are welcome to be in your room, bar & lounge areas - pets are not permitted in the main restaurant.

Although the hotel is pleasant and in a great location, I will never stay there again. My original booking was from 5 August 2026 to 9 August 2026, but I changed it to check out on 8 August 2026. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that Booking.com hadn’t processed the change and my booking was still until the 9th. I accepted this, paid for the stay until the 9th and adjusted my plans. On the 8th, I was told that I would have to leave because the Booking.com booking had been changed, that they would issue a refund, and that I would have to check out. I said I didn’t want the refund and that I would stay untilthe 9th as planned. I was told that the hotel was fully booked and that I had 15 minutes to have a shower and pack my things. They made no effort to try to sort things out and didn’t even offer an apology.

Excellent location.
Surprisingly quiet considering the central location.
Building is an historic architectural gem that must have been spectacular when built - the main staircase is stunning.
Cheerful, pleasant and helpful staff.
The mushrooms at breakfast were delicious.
Kettle, tea and coffee in the room was great.
The coffee at breakfast was undrinkable.
The building needs repair and decoration - the interior is old, tired and in need of modernization or restoration.
Only 1 lift worked and it can carry 4 guests or 2 guests with luggage.
Carpets are new but the floors slope and are uneven.

Didn't have a shower cubicle only shower over the bath which wasn't ideal if you are of a certain age hard to get in and out the rooms need updating new carpets and new furniture in bedrooms

The location is great for cardiff castle, we stayed during the heatwave and was really happy as there was a fan in the room
Window could do with being able to open more, but understand its an old building and for safety reasons.
All good apart from the car Parking promo code didn't work so parking was £32 for 24 hours.
