We had difficulties because of our late arrival, we arrived after closure of the reception. Our first attempts to establish contact with the hotel via the Expedia platform was not successful, the telephone number was wrong. Once we handled everything via the hotel website and had the correct number, everything was working out well. The Hotel itself is very nice and the staff is doing their very best to satisfy the guests needs.
Super Aufenthalt ! Mit Liebe und Herzblut geführt.. einfach empfehlenswert
Alles bestens ausser den Kirchenglocken in unmittelbarer Nähe, nachts sehr störend.
Es war alles super, und ganz toll ohne Plastikumverpackung

It is a nice old house, very charming
and it is an old house.
Lovely stay with friendly personel
Lovely property and very helpful staff. The breakfast is great 👍
Wunderbarer alter Gasthof mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Gut gelegen zwischen Vitra Campus und Stiftung Beyeler
We enjoyed our stay at the Adler hotel and enjoyed very much our dinner at the hotel restaurant
Relatively easy to find. Good location for springboard to other locations. I liked the church bells. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was okay. Some staff were friendly, others a bit stand offish. We were in the annexe so had no difficulty with access. Facilities are slightly sparse. Limited breakfast and bar closes early for a hotel. Cleaners a bit hasty in coming into the room on all days.
Très joli hôtel, grande chambre, service très sympathique. Un endroit idéal aux portes de Bâle
Zona tranquilla e molto carina, stanza semplice, ma pulita e confortevole. Colazione ottima, servizio ottimo e personale gentile. Letto comodissimo. Si trova a 15 minuti dalla fiera di Basilea.
I hate to leave bad reviews to friendly hard working people but future travelers will need to know about a few problems they may have at this place. While very clean and full of historic charm, this place sits right on a fairly busy street and is also a home to a busy restaurant. Up to about 11 am the noise and smoke from the restaurant was right up in our room. The street traffic somewhat subsided by midnight but the town bell still rang every hour, not even a hundred meters from the hotel. That was probably the worst part of our stay. Because there was no AC or wall fan in the room, we had to leave the windows open and the noise from the bell every hour and occasional traffic literally kept us awake all night. The room, while clean, is very small and very basic, no fridge or tea/coffee maker. Bathroom , while clean, is very dated, with swing out glass door over the bathtub, minimal amount of water from the shower and difficult to adjust hot/cold water. Its also very narrow, for an average person its hard to walk in and not run into a countertop or glass shower door. Internet was literally non existent. It worked for two minutes and then dropped, we played with it and had to use our iphones as mobile hot spots for laptop. Hair dryer in the bathroom didnt work either.
Adler was a beautiful hotel in an iconic, quiet neighborhood but it was a little short on cafes, restaurants and shops and it’s hard to get into Basel downtown from there. It took me over a hour to get to the downtown train station and Swiss phones don’t work in Germany so navigation was challenging.
