One of the nicer hotels we have ever stayed at! What a great place, fantastic location. It is close to a lot of fun times. The hotel itself is extraordinarily clean. The people working here from top to bottom are very very friendly and super helpful. The prices are what you expect for a nice caliber place like this. The beds were amazing. The hotel rooms are quiet. The amenities are great. We had nothing but good things to say about our stay this trip!
Roffe and Alec did a great job handling the chaos of our conference attendees. While I was just a single guest they still made a point to check on me and keep my drink filled.
I'd also like to note how well they worked together. It seemed they truly enjoyed having the same shift. Great hires!
Hotel was nice, room was clean. Trying to make the reservation was a pain. I had to call multiple times and could not get anyone to help with my needs (I needed a larger room and accommodation for a broken leg). I finally found one guy (Arsenii) at Guest Services who was helpful. He went above and beyond to help and I continually sought him out - were this review about him, it would get 5 stars. If you are looking for someone with sense who can help you, ask for him at Guest Services. This is a "full service" hotel which is code for we have everything - at a ridiculous price. Breakfast was not included, there was no microwave in the room, and there was the smallest refrigerator I ever saw in my suite. They did have bottled water in the room for $6 each. The food in the restaurants in the hotel was good but it was way overpriced. Overall, a decent but overpriced hotel.
I attended my fraternity's convention which was held at the San Antonio Marriott River Center on the River Walk. The convention was very well organized and the staff was wonderful. Check in was easy as could be. The room was ready early as I arrived about 10am on the day of check in. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The hotel was literally right on the River Walk - you could walk out the back door and be on the River Walk. It was also right next to the mall. Several very good restaurants and attractions were within walking distance.
I would recommend a stay here.
Close to river walk and safe. They sent me my boots that were left behind 💖

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Rivercenter on the Riverwalk for our anniversary. Customer service was top notch from the front desk all the way to the maids service. However, we did have frequent issues accessing our room. The gentleman assisting us, named Chris stated it was an issue with the battery on the door. We were glad to have this issue resolved, however I think this property needs to have this problem looked at. Another room down the hall from us had the same problem. Overall, great experience.
Tay from the front desk helped my mom tremendously! I won't bore you with all of the details, but I will say southern hospitality and extraordinary customer service was felt and given. Marriott has a gem in San Antonio, TX.
Love the location of this hotel but the front desk staff made this stay even better! Tay was AMAZING and was very accommodating would come back just for her!
Roffe is fantastic!! Great food!!
The hotel has a nice atmosphere but the service is lacking. When checking in, it took quite a long time as there wasn’t a room reserved for me, although I booked several months in advance. I also booked for a friend and the front desk told me she would have no problems checking in only to find that she needed my credit card to scan for incidentals and I wasn’t in the hotel at the time she checked in. Also, hotel amenities are unclear - no info was given about room service, attached mall, and my Uber order was left in the lobby with no one from the front desk calling me to tell me it had arrived. Just very poor service and miscommunication.
I was very disappointed by the pricing of food and beverages during this conference. I travel frequently and attend many conferences each year, and I have never encountered prices this high outside of New York City, especially for products of such mediocre quality.
The hotel coffee shop charged $17 for a breakfast sandwich and latte combo. What made the experience worse was that, rather than serving a fresh sandwich, I had to search through a warming box full of foil-wrapped sandwiches to find the item I had ordered. After that experience, and noticing the NYC prices in the restaurant, I skipped the hotel breakfast options entirely and walked to local restaurants each morning instead. One night I stopped by for ice cream for my kids, I was shocked when a pint that sells for $4 at Walmart was priced at nearly $9. The pricing was offensive, you do not even pay that much in Times Square. I was also shocked at the rude response I received from staff while attempting to pay with cash.
The high pricing continued throughout the conference. At the gala, I was shocked to find that a glass of cheap quality wine cost $17, so I drank water. When dinner was served, the chicken and rice was no better than the meals I have seen served in university dining halls. Quite honestly, my wife and I prepare better dinners at home on a nightly basis.
To be clear, the facilities themselves were generally very good, and the front desk and concierge staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. However, I would not recommend this conference center to another organization because of the excessive food and beverage pricing relative to the quality provided. It felt very clear that Marriott viewed its conference attendees as customers to exploit instead of customers to serve.
It is also worth mentioning that the pool was in unacceptable condition. My wife and I brought our children to swim and were shocked to find the water cloudy and milky in appearance. There was also a large floating clump of bugs near the pool steps and floating chunks of hair. Tiles were pulling up and missing, and my child slipped and fell hurting his leg on the wet tile. Who installs slippery tiles next to a pool? Its a lawsuit waiting to happen. The laundry room also had missing tiles and the detergent vending machine was empty. I expect better from a Marriott property. While the meeting facilities and room were nice, the food quality, pricing, and pool conditions made this a very disappointing experience overall.
Beautiful hotel with great amenities and location. The room was a little smaller than most Marriotts I stay at but the view and cleanliness were spot on and the bed was very comfortable. The gentleman that checked me in was very professional, friendly and had a great sense of humor. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to enjoy the river walk and the Alamo.
Attended a conference. Very Nice hotel. For the most part, staff provided good customer service. Considering the amount of revenue this conference brings this hotel every year, I wish they would at least offer us FREE parking. I am a little disappointed, that my APP has not uploaded my 4-night stay and it has been almost 3 weeks since I checked out.
Wonderful, helpful staff and fabulous ambience! The staff in the restaurant was extremely helpful & attentive & the food was delicious..
The location is ideal, but the room smells like old feet, and the bathroom has seen better days. Chipped porcelain in the bathtub, etc.outdated fixtures… The “smart“ elevators worked half of the time and were unnecessarily complicated to work. I also don’t appreciate the vast use of AI and computerized crap for any kind of customer service. There is no concierge. In order to get through to person to ask a question, you have to go through tons of voicemail hell with some AI assistant. Just get a person to answer the damn phone downstairs! It doesn’t need to be this hard… And it is certainly not for our (the clients’) convenience or comfort. If I have a question, it’s probably about something going on in this actual hotel. When I would finally get somebody on the phone, they were at Sum phone BANK, not even in the hotel! Why is it not possible to just ring down to the front desk? Unnecessarily complicated. And the rooms stink, literally. When we actually could get in touch with personnel at the hotel, they were lovely. So it is the system, and the upkeep which are notup to snuff.
The location is excellent. A quick walk to the riverwalk. The hotel is kept quite clean which is impressive given its size. Our room was immaculate and although the a/c was a bit loud, our room was very comfortable despite the crazy heat. We felt like the deal the Marriott offered us conference goers was quite fair- offering decent value. Our first visit to Texas and we had high expectations of BIG hospitality- which was almost non-existent. Most of the staff were polite - but nothing more. No smiles, no warm greetings and many tried to anticipate what you were saying and would cut you off before finishing your sentences. The staff in the coffee shop were just miserable. The prices were outrageous and I'd guess they got our drink order correct 50% of the time. Over the course of our week long stay we had one lovey/friendly server named Rachelle R. The layout of the hotel is ideal for a large conference and the pool and deck were lovely. We would stay again, but with much more modest expectations.
The hotel charges a premium rate, but the hotel is old and outdated. Multiple tears on the wall and stains in the room. Location is nice, but not for the price that they are charging per night.
The location
Everything was an added expense. Only free internet was in the lobby. Everything was over priced
