Had a brilliant Oct half term trip here. Incredible value for money.
The staff were great, particularly at the beach, coffee and wubderbar. Entertainment staff worked very hard, we loved the aqua fit / dance each day (one even jumped in the pool with us #dedication)
Lots of activities, tennis, beach volley ball, archery etc.
evening entainment is very good - the dj/saxaphone/singer was the highlight. Dancers were incredible.
Food - breakfast was great, but evening / lunch felt quite samey. Definitely visit bodega, its worth the pain of trying to book - you have to get on at 2pm 48hrs before and get a sitting before they go.
Rooms - comfy beds which was a real plus. But air con didnt really work, shower didn't quite shut all the way and could do with a bit more storage space.
Pools - heated pool ( sports) which was surprisingly a good temperature. The larger pools werent, but weirdly although cold, you get used to it when doing aqua fit. Also lifeguards at both.
Theres so many sunbeds and noone was getting up early to reserve. The place is quite big, so you dont feel on top of people. It was sunbathing weather even at the end of Oct.
There's a beach which you should visit, the beach bar there (bodegas) is nice for a drink during the day.
Should also mention how clean the place is, not just our room, but also all the communal areas / toilets.
Worth noting - its a split between british and Germans, so the music /activities cater for both
Would highly recommend.
We just returned from 10 nights and it was a really good hotel,we had a brilliant holiday! Our 3 teen boys loved football most days, water polo, beach volleyball, table tennis etc. I did a couple of dance classes which were fab,and husband had tennis lessons so loads to do here. Pools were great too. Good location, close to a couple of lovely towns. We went to Ibiza Town which was amazing. Such fantastic shops, some better than London! Hardly any tacky shops, all really lovely and unique. Beautiful views too!
Food was good in the hotel, loads of choice. One negative is the food is not that hot,so get there early! Lovely staff, really helpful and friendly.
We had a 2 bed apartment which was so spacious, although our key card didn't work 4 times, which was a pain! But this got sorted out quickly.
Evening entertainment was hit and miss, and starts at 9.30pm,so a bit late as you're not doing much after dinner. Dancers work hard and are really good, but it's a bit repetitive.
There are 2 restaurants. 1 tapas by the beach, which has stunning views. Food is ok,not amazing, but not terrible! Trattoria restaurant (Italian) is really lovely. It is self serve but food is tasty,we enjoyed this.
Overall, really loved this place, and we would return.
My wife and I came here with some of our family for 10 days last year and enjoyed it so much that my wife and I decided to grab 8 nights away here again last month, September.
It’s a relatively short flight from Gatwick at under two hours and rather than mess around with a coach to the hotel, chose to book a taxi each way, at approximately £160 return.
The hotel is all inclusive and one of the bars serves drinks 24/7.
The food is excellent for a “all inclusive” and the evening dinner menus are varied and change nightly.
The location of the bedrooms can be a bit demanding for those who don’t enjoy walking but you can always call reception and ask for a member of staff to come and collect you, in one of the many buggies so no problems!
The staff are absolutely brilliant! So polite and helpful too. The swimming pools are a delight and very clean.
Special thanks must go to the hotel general manager, Giuseppe Lazzaro who always seems to be around! He runs a delightful hotel!
Our “second home” is Barbados and we’re jloff there again for our 35th visit shortly. But would we visit here again? Absolutely. And we’ll be booking for 10 nights again, early next year!
Terry and Tina
When we arrived it was raining and didn't get a great first impression but when the sun came out wow what a lovely feel, lots of trees, grass and bird song.
Lovely meditation session with Mikel, time spent around the large pool, mini golf in the evening with lit up golf balls, fab entertainment show, restaurant in the evening freshly cooked stir fry delicious. Staff very helpful and I can see why people would return here.
Lovely kids facilities and a well-populated teens club in the evening (something I've not seen before)
All in all a great day, the rooms are very clean, most have a microwave/fridge so you can store
snacks, not the largest rooms however with all that's going on you won't be spending much time in there, tennis, full-size football pitch, gym, archery, short walk directly to the beach.
We stayed here as a family of three with a 2 year old for a week.
The transfer to he hotel was approx 40mins - not bad at all, however the location is in the middle of nowhere with nothing around at all. The hotel itself is fine, the reception has a horrid sewage smell but you can’t smell it anywhere else.
The room was ok, dirty in places as you could tell it had been empty for a long while. The groups are nice though and plenty of sun beds around all the pools, never had to fight for one. The drinks were good, self serve mostly which is nice to help yourself. Food was ok, not loads but plenty to choose from, but nothing is labels at all!!! Sometimes was had to eat it to know what meat it was… that definitely needs sorting. Kids disco was good, but all in German. The staff seemed nice and had a nice way with my daughter. All in all it was nice but we both said we wouldn’t return
We had a week here in September and luckily the weather saved us , this is not a place you want to hang around in. It’s tatty, very noisy even out of season with really poor bland food and the reception staff look miserable and disinterested.
The waiting staff are worked off their feet clearing up after people and you can forgive their lack of smiles as they looked exhausted. The drinks are ok this probably helps most people drown their sorrows.
If you don’t mind a Butlins, loads of screaming kids at meal times, cold food and you see a good discounted price then ok but I would avoid at all costs during school holidays and if you have a discerning taste.
Giving it 2 stars as we got a discounted price, definitely not worth full price and 3 star at best. Won’t be back.
Just returned from a week with my adult daughter. We booked a one bedroom apartment and requested a higher floor which we got. The apartment was spacious with sofa bed in lounge and extra wardrobe space. The apartment and the rest of the resort was spotless and cleaning staff were great. Pool areas also good and lots of sun beds including some on grass area if you want to have a bit more peace. The exercise pool is good for serious swimming. No issues with restaurant there was always fresh grilled meat and fish. A selection of mixed salads, paella and a we also had a lovely roast salmon with dill sauce, roast beef joint. All credit to the grill cook they kept up well with demand. Another thing I liked was that the coffee machines in restaurant were on at mealtimes so you can get coffee with your pudding. We didn’t try to book the two speciality restaurants as like the buffet selection. The resort is very family friendly, lots of high chairs inside restaurant and a children’s section on one side with a low serving point.
The resort rooms are laid out in blocks and the stairs to higher floors are fairly steep so if you have a pushchair or mobility needs probably request a ground floor room. There is not much immediately outside resort but bus makes it very easy to nip along the coast. The only slight negative for us was after dinner the only bar area is loud and has entertainment it would be nice to have somewhere else open with quieter music to sit and chat. Overall we had a lovely week in a relaxing setting, you can do as much or little as you want. Might be busier in school holidays but think this ticks a lot of boxes for all ages and activities. I would come back again.
I would say that Amy W's review earlier is a fairly accurate assessment of the Cala Pada.
We travelled as a Couple so the entertainment and childrens entertainment didn't affect us.
We were ther for 10 days and this seemed to be the sweet spot for us.
The staff and entertainment(Animation Team) were all very good, helpful and friendly.
Special Mention to Santos, one of the newer arrivals and the Blonde haired lady who served in the Coffee Shop (in the mornings). The Coffee Shop was very good.
The Pool Snack Restaurant, was unfortunately too repititious, so we often walked up to Magico for lunch as the choice was more varied.
Breafast in Magico was enjoyable. Only one Toaster Machine in operation, but we ussed to go up early so no queues for us.
Evening Meals were pretty good, reasonable variation (although I do agree labelling could better especially on the Cakes front). Loved the Stir Fry's. The food that was set out could benefit from under tray heating "Bain Marie". Food cooked to order was really enjoyable.
I aslo liked the self pour Amstel Beer Pumps dotted around the complex as queueing
occurred at the bars. My wife commented on how good the cooffee machines were in the restaurant.
We had no issue finding available sun lounger, plenty to go around.
The grounds were lovely and well maintained.
The Daily Bocchia was fun. A big Hello to those we met and played with from Team "Sun/Rain Lovers". We enjoyed meeting up with you all.
Our room was an Upper Floor accessed by steps, although we have no need to use a lift, visitors need to know, if they have mobility of pushchair requirements, so just consider asking for a Ground Floor Room. The room itself was adequate as was the shower.
After the first day, I commented, this place is nice, but I doubt I'd come back. Now at the end of the holiday, I've changed my mind and I would go back. But that's due to the length of flights and amenable flying times, and the hotel grew on me. If we went back, it would be nice to see Bain Mairie's in operation.
We have just returned from 10 days at Cala Pada, we did have a really lovely holiday so it was by no means ruined. But I wouldnt book it again, nor would I have in the first place if I had known what it is like.
This is our third Tui All inclusive holiday, we are not fussy eaters and on day 4 I was bored of the main restaurant. Barely anything changes from day to day, there are bits and pieces that are really tasty but you cant have the same thing every day!
The food at the Tratoria was better but everyone arrives at the same time and we ended up waiting half an hour for drinks and then being told we could go get our food. Seems ridiculous really not to stagger arrivals a little.
Food at Bodega tasted nice but I felt that it was a very cheap version of Tapas, barely any meat, prawns were tasty but half of it was available in the main restaurant. To say this was meant to be your 'A La Carte' dining experience the food was hugely disappointing, clearly trying to keep costs down with cheap ingredients. I have eaten Tapas all over spain and this felt like a poor mans version.
We had to book at customer services due to there being more than 4 of us, we asked there for a table outside and booked a full week in advance, we followed this up by confirming a few days before at the restaurant that we had a table outdoors and yet we had one indoors which is hugely disappointing in itself but the interior is very dull. I spent my meal staring at a blank wall.
The staff were running around as fast as they could so no discredit to them but ultimately the same problem here that everyone arrives at the same time which makes less sense here because the food is cooked to order to a point. We were offered the first table outside as soon as someone leaves but obviously everyone arrives at the same time, so this isnt any help. Tapas keep arriving which is lovely and authentic. Just think the quality of the food needs to improve. Its not a cheap holiday and that meal in the a la Carte is supposed to feel special.
Labeling everywhere of the food is almost non existent, the labels will tell you allergens but 'assorted cake' made up most of the desserts and the main food was similar.
The entertainment for under 12's was awful. 1/2 hour family disco most nights, which nearly all of the songs were in German, I wouldnt want them all to be English but the kids lost interest when not a single song they understood. The evening entertainment started far too late. We have been to other resorts where there is entertainment suitable for under 12s at around 7/8 o clock. We did make it to one show which started earlier and that was OK.
The pools and the staff were a hilite, I think the pools cater really well to younger kids, its a shame and odd that non of the rest of the holiday does.
Staff we all super friendly and helpful, we enjoyed the family boudicca, the guy that ran that was so fun! We did a few of the yoga classes and they were all great.
The rooms were cleaned well. Pools were clean. Food tasted nice even though it was very repetitive.
I liked the beach, we went snorkeling at the end by the entrance and saw lots of fish (take some bread!) And even spotted an octopus! It stays pretty shallow and felt very safe. There is lots of seaweed but that doesnt bother us.
Not quite what we expected but still a great place to visit.
I read lots of reviews beforehand and worried about a few things so thought I’d (hopefully) provide a bit more clarity!
Food:
Whilst there was lots of food, and there was no problem with any of it, it was a bit ‘same old’ by day three. My family and I weren’t wowed by any of the food, least of all the desserts. However, if you want to eat healthily, there are ample options. For context, we’ve been to a few all-inclusive 4 star resorts in Turkey and Greece and definitely rate their food as much nicer / more varied.
I may be totally wrong, but as someone who cooks fresh homemade meals everyday, I think this resort cooks with the cheapest ingredients… particularly noticeable in the meat, fish and ‘fruit’ juices.
Activities:
If you’re not too fussed about high quality food and drink, then definitely visit for the huge array of activities on offer! The resort is quite big, with hidden activities around every corner. It seems like every age group has been catered for too!
The nearby beach isn’t great, but somewhere we felt comfortable to spend any time relaxing. There are other great beaches nearby though; Cala Longa and Santa Eulària were fab! I believe there are short bus routes to both (we drove).
Children:
There’s a popular kids’ club on site (we didn’t use this), three swimming pools, a small games centre, designated teenage area and a sheltered playground for little ones. With nightly entertainment on too, there’s no reason to be bored.
Rooms:
The rooms are very dated with very basic amenities. The beds are comfy enough though and the rooms are cleaned well. I’d recommend asking for a room far away from the main entertainment space as the evening noise is pretty loud and goes on quite late (approx 12am).
Note - the travel cots provided do not meet UK SIDS recommendations. No fitted sheets and the mattresses are too small for the cot, leaving a gap all the way around. I’d recommend an alternative for a small baby.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
There are plenty of sun loungers despite many reserving them.
All in all a good week but not somewhere we’d visit again due to the food and drink. Maybe when our children are older and we can make more use of the activities…
If you're a family with younger children then go. If you are adults only then avoid, the eating areas are dominated by mainly German families with small children so it's loud and messy.
We were unlucky with the weather (thunderstorms on our last day,) and we found nowhere dry to be. The drier areas in the Wunderbar were occupied.
First impressions are that this place is VERY dated. Dangerous grounds around the area with large bumps on pathways to the rooms which catch you unawares and could end up really hurting yourself especially at night as the place is barely lit up to see where you are going.
The room absolutely stank of sweaty socks and cheese. Rooms are tired and bland but decided to try and stay positive as you don’t spend too much time in the room. Was told a ‘mini bar’ was included but our fridge was empty.
This hotel has a good lot of activities, plenty of tennis courts, football, brilliant volley ball pitches.
Nice large swimming pool and the foam party was brilliant fun, really getting everyone in the holiday vibes. Plenty of (uncomfortable dirty ) sunbeds. Not much shade.
Bar that is open 24 hours - but away from the main pool , so real trek if you want drinks once the pool bar shuts at 5. Drinks are gross with cocktails out of a machine and in horrible plastic wet cups around the pool. Cava is nice so stick to that. Breakfast starts being cleared away at 10 and the staff then eat what’s left. Dining area is like a hostel and soooo noisy. Quieter area where the pizzas are so would recommend sitting there. Staff in dining area are great at taking plates away when you’ve finished. If you are a late riser and want something to eat after breakfast you will have to wait till the snack bar opens at 12 and then there are chewy cold chips and burgers made of goodness knows what. The snacks shut at 3 and then there are cakes at another area which are very tasty if there is any left by the time you get there. They sometimes do crepes freshly made too and this place is open till 5. Dinner is at 6 which is plentiful and can always find something to eat. Really good selection of food and show cooking and the soup is absolutely delicious.
To leave the grounds to go to the beach which is not far at all from the back of the hotel, you need a card to unlock the gate and go thru the turnstiles, which somtimes work. There is also an area here where you can get towels to borrow. The beach is not very picturesque and very small but the water is warm altho not very clear. There is a bar on the beach with a nice friendly staff member altho no snacks here also a shop near by where the staff watch your every move as if you are going to steal something. Entertainment while we were there was a kids disco that started at 9 and goes on way too long, bingo that went on for so long as they kept playing music in between, a really good white party with great music and ‘flamenco’ dancers they danced to pirates of the Caribbean music and techno .
Nice area to watch the entertainment around the bar but they should 100 💯 have a no smoking policy as it’s disgusting that people are smoking like that around kids and families when you are trying to enjoy yourselves.
We tried to book the a la carte but was fully booked but might not have been if the other two times i went to the desk someone was actually there.
This hotel is mostly aimed at families with young children and I would not return due to the fact that it’s dated and feels like it has been stuck in a time warp. Also to note that the hotel transfer there took over hour and fifteen bit in the return only 20 mins so you may want to consider a taxi on the way
Great hotel for families, particularly great rooms for families with two separate bedrooms and lounge area. All the staff were mega friendly and the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy… I’d recommend!
Booked last minute for a long weekend with husband and daughter. Have been to a few Magic Life resorts before so was expecting similar.
First impressions were poor. Arrived in the dark to a horrendous smell of drains in reception and outside the hotel itself. Left to navigate to our allocated room in the dark dragging our cases. Opened the door of our apartment to be greeted with the same smell- wonderful!
Negatives- ( apart from the smell)
Apartment very tired and dated. Beds are narrow and hard with lumpy pillows.
AI buffet very standard , no theme nights etc, mostly cold and recycled leftovers.
Communal corridors very dirty, rubbish left in corners- we spotted someone’s hair extension on the path and it was 48 hours before it was swept up.
Fridge and water never replenished
Positives
Apartment was very spacious and cleaned every day with towels replenished
Shower hot with decent water pressure
Grounds kept beautifully in some areas of the resort
Choice of pools with no problems getting sunbeds
Quiet location with bus to nearby towns.
In summary a disappointing stay where expectations were not met.
Overall we had a great time at TUI Cala Pada. The all staff are great, very welcoming and got all of our questions answered. The location is great for young children as the public Cala Pada nearby is nice with smooth sand and its shallow. Also the Jetty is useful we took the ferry to Es Canar to see the Hippy Market which only runs on Wednesday, so took the ferry again headed south to Ibiza Town, a great way to enter Ibiza Town by boat with some great views.
For the TUI Cala Pada In the main restaurant, the food was excellent, with a wide variety of options everyday, couldn't fault the food. The opening hours of the restaurant had a wide time window which was great. Allowing people to choose when to eat as they prefer per day.
In the fun pool they kept stopping one side of the pool for Aqua fitness activities which was a bit annoying sometimes. If you weren't doing them and just wanted to carry on playing with your kids. They had a good list of activities you can do at the complex and different ones each day.
Our room was very clean and tidy, but was a bit dated and could benefit from some modernisation. There was only two tea cups in our room, yet we were a family of four and the room was designed for four people. So we had to keep getting an extra two cups from the restaurant if we all wanted a cup of tea in our room. Then the cleaners would take two back again the next day, but that is a minor really.
Overall a great time and a well positioned complex in the North of the Island for a good family holiday.
The resort is very family-friendly with plenty to keep children entertained — we especially loved the foam party. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained.
Food and drinks were varied and of good quality, with lots of choice each day. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The evening entertainment was fun and relaxed, just right for families.
Our room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The whole resort had a really safe and friendly feel, which made the holiday very easy and enjoyable.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for a fun and stress-free holiday in Ibiza.
Family friendly. Geeat choice of food and plentiful too. Extremely helpful, patient and kind staff.
Plenty of activities to take part in.
We have just come back from our first holiday as a family of four at Tu Magic Cala Pada. It was excellent and we made such wonderful memories and we can't wait to return. We were a bit nervous taking young kids on holiday but after doing some research this place came up highly recommended and had great reviews. The hotel was only a 30 minute ride from the airport. When we landed, our mini bus was waiting for us (no waiting around). We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by lovely friendly receptionists. Our luggage was taken to our room and also the bed guard I booked (via an external company) was also in our room too. Which was a nice touch.
All inclusive was amazing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options and so many choices. Credit to the chefs/ presentation and how the options were laid out was also spot on. I particularly enjoyed a virgin colada around the pool. It was my favourite drink. I was able to get warm anytime from the bar/restaurant for our toddler. I love all the pool activities and entertainment especially the aqua fit and dancing to 'Tu Magic in the air!'
All staff were really friendly and you can tell that they really care about their job and the hotel.
The evening entertainment was brilliant. Our children loved the family discos with Mymo and also the silent discos. The dancers were extremely talented and we loved watching their shows.
My daughter attended the kids clubs, these were well run and the staff were really friendly. On our last day, my daughter received a lovely card from the team wishing her a safe flight and attached a lolly pop. It was really sweet.
My children loved the pools in particular the slides! They had a really good time. Plenty of sun beds too!
Thank you so much Tui Magic Cala Pada.
Thanks very much
carly x
Recently returned from a fantastic week away here.
I have rated this 5 stars as even though I do still think there is some room for improvement in some areas, it was still a brilliant holiday and I would definitely return.
Positives include:
Nice big apartments with comfortable beds and a great shower, rooms were cleaned daily - housekeeping do a fab job. Block 23 was well located, no issue with noise in the evenings.
Location - 30 min transfer from the airport, direct access to a lovely little beach and easy access to nearby areas by ferry boat or bus
All inclusive - plentiful, fresh and hot food served throughout the day - particularly enjoyed the omlette station at breakfast and fresh stir fries in the evening. We also tried the trattoria restaurant which although still a self serve, was well worth a visit. Also enjoyed the cake and crepes in the afternoon!
Entertainment during the day was well organised and its easy to book things through the app - I tried yoga, aqua aerobics and pilates and Miguel was a fantastic teacher through all of these! Pools were fab as well, no issues with getting sunbeds.
Room for improvement:
Felt like the timing of the evening entertainment could be improved as there was quite a bit of waiting around for things to start (it starts very late in the evening). We were travelling with young children so it may be okay for those with older children.. but it would have been better if the kids disco bit started at 8pm and went on a little longer. Having said this, the silent disco and live music nights were brilliant!
Overall we've had a brilliant time and would return! Thank you Magic Life Cala Pada.
Excellent family holiday, two adults two young children, plenty of them to do
Rooms, restaurants, grounds are immaculately kept
Food has so much variety for all ages
Two things I would say if you require a ground floor room then say in advance as there are no lifts, and if you want a quieter room then ask for one away from the nights entertainment
Great family hotel
