Clean, close to where we needed to go, decent size room
Basic facilities & dated; had to park in a public park down the road as the hotel park was full.
The story told of a hotel built many decades ago.
The Accor claim of 3-3.5 star status. Against South Australia standards, the Grosvenor just makes 2 star. The hotel's challenge is to present itself in its location market (as 3-3.5 star), when its infrastructure is aged, stuck in its earlier era, and definitely not able to.roject beyond 2 star. Spend a lot of money. Remake the site entirely, or keep it as it is - a gentle lie that still makes a buck..
The Grosvenor is very convenient as it is close to Festival Hall, not a long walk to the river or the centre of Town. Good public transport.
The hotel lacks any quality control. The room we had on this occasion was larger than our previous experience (2 queen beds), but it had only a small window, bolted shut and opaque. The air conditioner was so noisy, we had to turn it off at night. The shower over the bath in room 319 was very dangerous for someone of our vintage. The power went off overnight ("must have been the kettle next door"), so our appliances were not charged. Fixed just before we had to leave the room.
Very central
-
A great location just across from Adelaide railway station, and very close to the centre of the city. The room was large and comfortable, if a bit soulless, but perfect for what we wanted for a couple of days.
Didn't have breakfast
Limited facilities in rooms
Everything
Is all good
Bed good lacking biscuits to have with a cuppa
No biscuits
Convenient for our event
Room was stuffy and had a moldy smell
Location and value for money
No usb charging points
The location and the staff had good customer service.
The corridors and room smelt, the carpet is in need or replacing, the air-conditioner in the room is controlled by an old switch with 1, 2 or 3 on it and we felt hot so had to plug in a pedestal fan. The windows are high and we had to stand on tippy toes to see out.
Friendly staff and great location!
Building was old and we had to move rooms due to having 0 sunlight and bird poo and cob webs.
Not much.
Poor service at check-in. Cockroaches in the hallway.
Stuffy, small, poky room with no real windows (small panes of glass up near the ceiling).
Location
Asked for a quiet room didn’t get one got changed to another room which was even more noisy. Didn’t get any sleep. Checked out a day early as couldn’t sleep. Should have been put in quite room to start, but to get a even noisier the second time shows that the staff didn’t listen or didn’t care. Tv didn’t get good reception kept cutting out. Could not set temperature on AC in room and was also noisy. If you want sleep don’t stay.
Very little.
Continental breakfast was very minimal. Parking was a challenge but they did make some allowances and yet still charged $25/night
Smoke smell throughout the property despite being a smoke free hotel.
Photos weren’t very accurate for the room.
Everything just felt old, out dated and dirty.
Location
The room was dated
The location is strategic for being able to visit the city and for public transport. I want to thank the reception staff for their availability and courtesy in resolving a problem of mine. The room cleaning staff were also very efficient. Thanks to everyone for making the stay in Adelaide truly enjoyable.
The hotel is a historic building in the city center: I would recommend that the owners maintain the structure better, because it deserves it.
