I wish I knew before there were renovations and the elevator from the parking garage wasn't working. I received notice but it was too later to change my reservation
The signs in the parking garage to get to the hotel were terrible, not enough signs and went around looking how to get inside the hotel
Everything was good but we had a lot of trouble with the parking garage, we had problems getting out, and also the spots were very small. We went to the front desk and told them the situation and the worker re set our card but we still had problems getting out
The parking garage - spots were very small
Our hockey team’s stay at the DoubleTree Downtown Ottawa was incredibly disappointing, and I strongly recommend that hockey tournament organizers remove this hotel from their list of options. It’s clear the DoubleTree has little understanding of how to accommodate sports teams, especially those traveling with kids and equipment.
First, the oversized parking situation was a major problem. There were only a few suitable parking spots available, which forced many of our parents and players to park nearly 10 minutes away and walk back and forth daily with luggage and hockey bags. Anyone who has traveled for hockey knows how unreasonable that is — especially in winter, and especially with young kids.
Second, there was nowhere for parents to relax, gather, or enjoy each other’s company after the kids went to bed early for their morning games. At other hotels we’ve stayed at — and there have been many — staff understand the needs of hockey families and provide a lounge, meeting space, or designated area where parents can unwind responsibly without disturbing others.
Third, there was also no space for the kids to play or burn off energy, which meant groups of kids ended up stuck in hallways — something every hotel claims they want to avoid. Ironically, we noticed several empty conference rooms that would have solved this issue perfectly. Before our stay, I even called ahead and was told these rooms were booked, yet during the entire weekend we saw them sitting unused. Allowing us access would have made a massive difference.
Between the inadequate parking, lack of gathering space, and unwillingness to accommodate very standard hockey team needs, our stay was far below expectations. For the sake of future teams, I hope tournament organizers reconsider listing this property. It simply isn’t equipped — or willing — to support hockey families the way so many other hotels routinely do.
La propreté, confort du lit. Apprecier le biscuit à l'arrivée et le café ds la chambre.
Le restaurant. Le choix de nourriture est tres limité et les prix sont élevés.
My mom and I traveled to Ottawa for leisure and had a great time. The location of the DoubleTree was perfect. It was right in downtown. The staff was super helpful and told us exactly how to figure out parking, which was super easy and convenient. The location was great, it was an easy and quick walk to multiple popular sites. We had a great stay!
I loved the welcome cookies. It was sweet and thoughtful
Parking and having to pay for it. Certain vehicles couldn't fit through the parkade. It was very annoying
The location is very good and very accessible to the city and tourist spot.
The breakfast is good, however the yougurt is gone on the second day which my son is like having in the morning but overall its verygood, the staff also accommodating and attentive.
We also enjoy the pool my son loves it and he really had fun.

Location was excellent, bathroom was a little small for two adults and two kids and the door opening right into the toilet was problematic, but the room was otherwise comfortable
The room size and bathroom size/configuration, pool was far and in an obscure location. Hard to get to with two small kids!
Lovely stay. Very helpful staff and beautiful breakfast in the morning. No complaints!
Breakfast OK, clean room.
Bit dirty carpets in the corridor on 4th floor.
