Had quick and easy access to all of the places we wanted to be at or visit.
Pros:

The location is excellent. The rates are affordable. The air conditioner was a bit noisy but the hotel itself was quiet. The room service was very good and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. Close to several major streets and the tram system.

Cons:

The only thing I would pick on was the noise of the air conditioner. The fan was a bit loud.

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms - hoorah, the teaspoons are back!
Pros:

Great location, it is walkable from Flinders St Station - even with luggage - although the last uphill stage is a bit of a cardiac event. The surrounding area has some great museums, galleries and feasting opportunities as well as being close to the Royal Arcade. The bed was very comfortable, good lighting and artwork in the rooms and corridors, wonderful to see the return of teaspoons! I appreciated the later check out, 11am, and Christian at reception helped me to find a good room. Tea and Amber bathroom products are delightful. Great to be able to open a window and get some fresh air. Good to have a safe left luggage option before and after the stay.

Cons:

I always bring my own coffee as there is only instant, and perhaps a green tea or herbal option would be good. A very loud fridge. I've stayed at the Victoria Hotel about 6 times and have had great rooms, but also ( especially last time in March) some remote and not as pleasant ones. I do put in a request via Booking.com for a good room, but you really have to ring up or make a request at reception. I miss the horse cushions. I did book a 'heritage room' but am not sure if I ended up in one.

Pros:

Excellent location in Melbourne CBD. On-site restaurant for dinner and buffet breakfast was good.

Cons:

Requested a replacement coffee mug by contacting Reception… it was never provided.

Great for one night stay
Pros:

I liked that the staff were available but that I could check in independently. Very smooth process. I liked the size of the room, too.

Cons:

Bathroom. I am not sure what it is, but there was a lingering smell. The fan had trouble dispelling it.

Cons:

When I booked the room i asked for an early check-in. my friends I was travelling with did not ask for an early check-in. both of my friends received their room 2 hours prior to the check in time but I was not advised that my room was ready until 15:45 which was 4-5 hours later, this was disappointing.
