A delightful old pub with beautifully appointed rooms and staff who were amiable and very attentive. We were touched that they had made us some gluten free brownies for our room. The bar and dining area were very attractively presented too.
Everything was perfect
Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated room, very comfy bed, I slept like a log. Room was street side but you couldn’t hear much for a midweek stay. Didn’t manage to eat there but the complimentary cookie was highly appreciated, also fresh milk in the mini fridge for morning coffee is a big win. Great location and very friendly staff. Lots of doggos as well which was a joy.
There was a lovely dressing table where I planned to do my makeup for the wedding I was attending but the lighting wasn’t great. Not a big thing at all, I used the bathroom which was fine but it was a bit of a shame that the lamp next to it was down facing so not really practical for makeup application.
Lovely large room.
Very clean and bed was very comfortable.
Water , tea and coffee available and very nice cookies
Huge bathroom very good
Nice shower with complementary shampoo etc
Some quite steep stairs to the room,
We felt we paid quite a lot for one night
Great room in a really nice pub , excellent location for Burghley hall and the town centre
All good
Stayed before. Lovely place with lots of character. Room exceptional and staff always friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Good location, easy parking, very well maintained. Beer garden was excellent.
Expensive.
History by the bucket load. Excellently decorated and comfortable. Food is great give it a try. Staff exceptionally friendly
Beautiful, central, quiet, friendly staff.
Lovely, comfortable room with clean facilities. Great location, central to town. Parking locally included in price.
Noise from nearby road was significant, older single glazed windows I guess. Food in pub was very dissapointing for the price.
Lovely spacious room (Newton) that is full of character.
Big comfortable bed. Great shower. Excellent breakfast. Pub serves decent beer.
Short walk into the center of Stamford and near to entrance to Burghley House if that is your focus.
Note that parking is a short way up the road in their sister building, the William Cecil.
Access is via the pub garden area at the rear, and the entryway as you approach the apartments door to the side doesn't look great, but its not an issue as once inside its a lovely spacious room and full of character.
Note that the room is slightly below road level and the window faces out to the front pavement and main road at low height, so there is not a great view but you don't really need one, and the sound-proofing is good, so it's not a problem.
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
We could not manage to use the shower over bath..too deep/slippery. We hoped to park nearer the hotel. 150yards to the car park is ok if it doesn't rain.
Beautiful room in a stunning pub, large room and great bathroom. Great comfortable bed and bedding.
Breakfast option pricey, excessive dog charge, no body lotion, shower difficult to turn off.
Fabulous location with free parking nearby. Great room and breakfast.
Relaxed and comfortable. Interesting food. Friendly. Dogs very happy.
