Beautiful place in the "jungle" though it's now mainly a residential/commercial area. Some good restaurant and bar options around, however the main attractions of the beach and downtown do require a car / scooter. Really nice staff all around!
A pity that Tulum's bubble busted so quite a few empty buildings and houses around the area. Requires a 15-20 min drive to make it to the beach. The Beach House restaurant and bar is expensive!
The staff is amazing Franck and David at the reception are fantastic and helps with everything. also the guys at the bar and the cleaning ladies
breakfast inciuded is sinple but very good, natural huices and jam
They are very attentive and friendly. The facilities were a little wonky, the shower water would get stuck on one setting hot or cold. The room had many spider webs around. The private jacuzzi was nice and so were the views. Overall 8/10
Property did not let us know it was closed took us to a sister property wasn’t to my liking also was no one else at the property but workers. Which made us nervous. So we ended up booking another property. Staff was friendly though
Poolside bar and restaurant. Plunge pools drained each day. Continental breakfast was delicious and many more options to purchase if wanted more. Shower and jungle view of full wall of windows made this have a nice luxury feel. Beautiful boutique hotel. Very odd almost hidden entrance. Took a moment to find find.
Loved my stay here and can’t wait to go back. Miss the kitties !
The entire stay was amazing and the staff onsite was amazing and attentive! It’s a really beautiful atmosphere and hotel. I will definitely go back agin!
The Orchid House Tulum Jungle is a charming, bohemian-style boutique hotel located in a quiet part of Tulum. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful! My bed and bedding were extremely comfortable. The food is colorful, healthy and packed with flavor, and they pay attention to the presentation of each dish. I would return to this place simply for the staff and food! I love all of the artwork and decorative touches - hammocks, thatch roofs, hydroponic plants in cute vases on the tables, and the hotel has a cute little black and white kitten on property. I did yoga on my balcony early in the morning my last day and watched all of the different bird species in the trees in the center of the hotel. This is a perfect spot for solo travelers and couples. This wouldn't be a place for families as there are no activities for children.
Nothing is within walking distance of this hotel so you have to take very expensive taxis or shuttles everywhere. There are many fees tacked on to ALL services in Tulum, so even if your flight and hotel are cheap, expect to spend a lot of money each day on food, drinks, taxis and tours/excursions. Do not snorkel here when seaweed is covering the beaches and ocean. You cannot see any fish or turtles and you are constantly getting tangled in the seaweed. I was concerned about safety and security of personal belongings, but quickly found out that I felt safe and secure. Booking.com did not advertise this hotel correctly. There is no private beach, no yoga, and there are no swimming pools here other than small, shallow plunge pools. The plunge pools on the decks/balconies of the suites are filled with leaves and they are not cleaned unless you request that they be cleaned. Anything you request, however, the staff goes out of their way to be helpful.
Omg, this place has my heart and I’ll return again. 1000/10 thank you so much for being nice and professional during our stay ♥️♥️♥️
The front desk person was very welcoming. I was immediately given a welcome drink and taken to my room. The room was just as in the photos. I was not able to use the outdoor tub only because I wasn't in the room long enough to try it. I did love the rainfall shower and the grounds. Lots of plant life and quiet. The people were excellent. We are dinner at their restaurant specifically in the "Nest" and enjoyed the spectacular views and the sunset. I definitely recommend having dinner there. The food was marvelous.
Such an amazing place to relax and enjoy the nature . Exactly what I needed .
The person at reception tried so very hard to accommodate, and upgraded my room after advising that the TV did not work (though the new room was still not the 5* standard expected)
There is a convenience shop around the corner.
The photos clearly show a beachfront, and the listing description specifically mentions a “private beach.” However, this is not the case and was informed that the pics were a sister company and the hotel does not provide free transportation to it.
The hotel is listed as a five-star property, but my experience did not reflect that standard. While the design is charming, the facilities appear worn, there is no hand soap provided, there are no designated areas for sunbathing, TV in room did not work, no desk in room to eat/work at, overpriced food, coffee machine in room is chargeable, initial room was above restaurant and music was loud.
Emailed the hotel and yet to receive any form of response.
Overall, I’m left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.
I loved my stay! Everyone is wonderful!
Hidden gem in the jungle. For couples who value privacy, excellent service, GREAT FOOD, and a relaxing vacation...Orchid House is the place to go! We enjoyed our long weekend trip in a beautiful spacious room with privacy and the relaxation we needed. The food is freshly prepared and sooo incredibly good. The bar and drinks were the best around. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We can't wait to go back. Thank you!!

We love that Tulum is a jungle. Trees, vines and plants embrace this property offering tranquility. They have a sister hotel at the beach and we used it one day with no minimum spend. We rented bikes directly from the front desk for $16 each one day. The food in the restaurant was pretty good. Frank was very friendly and welcoming at the front and Jose, our pool bartender, made great drinks and was so fun to talk to and help us with our Spanish. The hotel is a 3 mile bike ride to the beach. However, we chose it because we spent our time in Aldea Zama. It’s a short walk to a market, 7-11, coffee shops and restaurants.
We chose the garden suite. Unfortunately we were not able to use the separate outdoor tub but would havebif we had time. We are dinner at the "Nest". It is located at the rooftop of the hotel. Great food and service. The place was amazing. You felt like you were in the jungle but not really. The plants and natural materials made it so pretty.
