Staff was very polite, the location was perfect! Central to everything we wanted to do. The Hotel is beautiful, and clean. The beds were comfortable. Unfortunately we did not have time to check out the gym or pool, but from what we saw passing by they were well kept. They could use more parking, however we did have a spot each night (I can see it being an issue when the hotel is at max capacity).
The view from our patio was lovely, however if you are looking to sleep in please keep in mind that there are several water plane taxis that begin taking off in the morning, so you can hear them, it's not too loud unless you are a light sleeper. The fridge was on the coldest setting, but it didn't get very cold.
Great view of the city from our balcony. Room was very spacious and had good HVAC.
Nothing
Friendly, helpful staff. Very pleasant hotel to stay at. Excellent location.
Nothing!
Staff went above and beyond putting a proper fridge and sharps container in my room for insulin storage and needle disposal. Location was great too.
Great location, wonderful staff, well appointed.
A little dated and the bed was harder than I am used to
On arrival you were greeted with a luxury style hotel lobby and lounge bar. The reception staff were very friendly and polite as were all staff.
The room as mentioned on other posts is a little dated and quite dark. However, was spacious and clean. The location is excellent for visiting Victoria.
We used the patio for afternoon drinks in happy hour and would like to mention Ryan and Reid who were super friendly and gave great service and recommendations.
Our stay was comfortable and would return if I come back to Victoria.
Great room, brilliant location, good parking and friendly staff.
The damage deposit return process was not at all clear to me. The building is quite ugly from the outside.
Location
Outdated Washroom
We recently stayed at the Hotel Grand Pacific while my husband was in Victoria competing in the Ironman. Given the nature of the trip, getting a good night’s sleep and being comfortable in the room was extremely important to us.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room did not work properly during our stay. We reported the issue to the front desk and were told a technician would come take a look at it. However, when we returned to the room later, nothing had changed and the room was still uncomfortably warm. We ended up having to keep the patio door open just to get some airflow.
We brought the issue up again at checkout, hoping there would at least be some acknowledgment or effort to make things right, but the response was basically just “sorry to hear that.” There was no compensation, follow-up, or real concern shown, which was disappointing considering the cost of the stay.
The hotel itself also felt quite outdated. The decor throughout the property was very dark and dated, and overall it did not feel like the experience matched the price point we paid.
That said, there were a few positives. The location is excellent and very convenient for exploring Victoria, and the food at Fathom restaurant was genuinely great.
One other thing worth noting is parking costs. Self-parking is $28/day, while valet parking is $35/day.
Overall, while the location and restaurant were highlights, the lack of responsiveness regarding the air conditioning issue and the dated feel of the hotel made the stay feel overpriced and not worth the money.
Nice place. A bit pricey for a dated hotel. AC didn’t work at all.
Excellent location
Room incredible-suite with amazing views
A couple of the staff were a little unconventional and made our dining experience a little uncomfortable
