Stayed here for a night. Check in was good, staff was friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. Some bad reviews lately but we had no issues and nothing to make it better than an average stay either. It worked for us, close to the venue and the prices were reasonable.
I like Ahmik he was nice and although I was highly upset about the huge puddle in the room and what looked like blood on the floor he was extremely apologetic.
I asked for late check in and got to the hotel at 7pm after driving 6 hours and then moving my son into school. I get to the room and there was a puddle of water that I could have slipped in coming from under the fridge in the room. The water was seeping under the bed and also had wet the bed skirt. After looking closer I also noticed what looked like several blood spots (they were red drops) as well in the same area where the puddle was. The furniture that housed the refrigerator was also eating away by the water issue that looked like it was going on for a while. I went downstairs since I was told that I would get a room change but no one came up due to how busy they were and the young lady downstairs with the glasses (didn’t get her name) came off like she didn’t believe me when I said it looked like blood was on the ground as well. I even had video and pics. She didn’t look at them and I just did not like her condescending approach. Maybe she didn’t like my comment when I told her they had us waiting in the room for a room change like we were children that did something wrong. After a long day they really should have addressed the issue immediately. I am in the Hilton often enough for work so I just did not expect her to tell me they were very busy as I am a customer as well and my issue should have been dealt with immediately since I was checked in prior to those other customers. Nonetheless Ahmik jumped in while I was talking to her and his demeanor and approach was just a better fit for the situation. I appreciated him and the new room was fine and I had a great sleep thankfully.
ALERT. Don’t stay here. If you have a reservation cancel it. Hotel is going through a major renovation. Rooms are beat up and dirty. We had no water for parts of our 3 day stay and no hot water for most of the rest. We had a heater burn up in one of our rooms. Throughout the day including weekend there was intermittent loud banging. Management was generally not helpful.
I tried to reach out to the hotel a few times with no response before posting a review. We were very disappointed with our stay 11/15. I was aware of the renovations, they were not an issue during our stay.
Simply put - the room was $270 a night but it was not in good condition. The furniture had clear signs of wear and tear and our tv, fridge and microwave did not work. I texted with the front desk and the said they sent someone but nothing was working when I came back from dinner. I moved the tv console and was able to pus everything in far enough so that it stayed on but it was flickering. Behind the console and fridge were very dusty - clearly hadn’t been swept in a while. The headboard was also crooked.
The next morning housekeepers were screaming down the halls and banging on the door.
I understand renovations are underway and the state of the rooms will be upgraded but the reality is that it was so overpriced for what we got.
The staff we interacted with were very friendly and there is ample parking.
Due to the state of the room and lack of response from the hotel (I reached out directly via email and the Hilton feedback form), I can’t recommend this hotel. We stayed at the doubletree in Niagara Falls ON the previous night for half the price and had a much better experience. I’d avoid until the renovations are completed.
Smooth check-in. Clean room. Great location.
At check out, the person who sold us a breakfast bagel and poured coffee seemed to either not be a morning person or disgruntled...definitely. not the face or tone you want to deal with first thing in the morning. She wasn't mean but not the right demeanor for customer facing work.
Staff was great, parking was easy, and the room was perfect!
The customer service was certainly not what we are accustomed to as Diamond members. There was nothing but negativity from the moment we arrived, as if we had offended them prior to our arrival. We could overlook the need for renovation had we been treated with basic common courtesy.
Obviously don't like tour buses. Check in was ok but the rest of the staff the next morning was very rude. Breakfast was 🤢.
My husband and I travel extensively and are Hilton Honors members. We stayed at this location, Hilton Doubletree in Amherst, twice in the last week and both stays were completely unacceptable! On both occasions (five nights apart) there was only ONE wash cloth provided in the room. Breakfast, which was included in our package, was late, lukewarm and very subpar. Additionally, we were traveling with other couples who did not have hot water in their rooms. Even at that, the absolute worst part of both stays was the attitude of the staff!!! Staff was RUDE, unhelpful and uncaring! After the first night of bad experiences we would not have stayed there again on our return route, however, the reservations had already been made. I was hopeful that the first night was a fluke and things would be better during our next stay…not only was I wrong, it was WORSE! The staff at this location give Hilton a bad name!!! Once again, I’ll add the words RUDE and UNCARING. Completely unacceptable customer service!!! Sad.
The front desk would not give us a cookie like they advertised. She was very unpleasant and add a mean attitude. Our breakfast was late and not very tasty.
I booked a room on Sun (thru Tues) in order to be with my brother when he had surgery at 6:30 am the next day. Sunday evening, I discovered that the shower was lukewarm. On Monday, after spending all morning in the hospital, I returned at noon hoping to find something to eat. Despite advertising "all-day dining" in their Sidewalk Cafe, there was no food. The staff at the front desk unapologetically said there was no lunch service; they stopped a few years ago. After a trip to Anderson's, I returned for a nap. There was no Do Not Disturb sign, or any kind of literature describing the hotel amenities. Later that evening, I took a shower so I could sleep as long as possible the next day. Again, the shower was lukewarm. I was exhausted! I needed to sleep but was awakened by housekeeping at 9:30 am the next morning. I told the front desk staff that my room had no hot water. He said "we know, we're working on it." The next day, I called about the lack of hot water. I was given a $65 refund on a $401 bill.
A good location, I've been staying at the DoubleTree for 10 years. I was shocked at its decline. The bedskirts were filthy. The floors were covered in debris in some areas. Given my experience with uncaring staff & lack of basic necessities, I won't be returning.
Staff was very helpful
I stood in Doubletree hotels before and never seen a Doubletree hotel to be so gross in my life this property is not a safe hotel for children there is a lot of people that walk around late at night and they look like they are on drugs
