Everything
Nothing
-location
-good breakfast
-comfy bed
-cleanliness was very poor. Unsavory items behind one bed. Dark and curly hairs in bathroom (we are blonde). Cupboard door hanging off hinges. Dust bunny overgrowth in corners and under furniture. Stains an walls, doors, and chair.
-toilet was difficult to make flush
-tub drain (despite troubleshooting) was VERY SLOW. Standing water while showering.
- dirty shower curtain
- handwritten labels on shower soap
- WiFi timeout in night that interrupts sleep sound
- no in room clock
- poor lighting in room. Blinding night table lights and lack of overhead lighting
-alarm went off in room because of steam or heat from shower. Maintenance person was fairly attentive, but did not respond in a timely manner when we were dealing with shrieking alarm sounds. Daughter stuck in bathroom while alarm replacement was occurring.
-no towels in pool area
-unfriendly check-in
Lovely room; COMFORTABLE bed, nice breakfast!
Window area leaked a LOT of cold air on a very cold & windy Iowa night. Pane cracked, but air seemed to come in around the window.
The location off the highway and breakfast was tasty!
My room was next to the elevator so you could hear the elevator closing and people being loud coming off elevator plus at 2:30 in the morning last night people were yelling down the hallway and being rowdy which woke me up!
Also, did not realize that dogs are allowed, I was eating my breakfast and a dog was across from me sitting in the upholstery bench. I suffer from dander and allergies and that is not catering to your members! In addition, the bathroom smelled like a damp wet rag and had hair on tub!
I liked the easy check-in.
My room had multiple issues. 1st of all, it was much smaller than described/pictured. The fridge didn't get very cold, so I didn't feel like it was safe to eat my leftovers. Unfortunately, those were thrown away, but my food and the drinks I put in there felt room temp after being in the fridge all night. When we checked in, i noticed that the bathroom counter had something sticky all over the left side of it, and the bathroom tub didn't drain while we showered. You can tell they dont dust the rooms, including the baseboards. Im pretty sure our beds had the wrong sized sheets on them. They hardly went over the corners before even getting in the bed, and then, of course, they kept coming off all night.Wanted to tell someone at the front desk, about the tub and unclenliness but when checking out, noone was there at the desk, and I had somewhere to be, so I left my room key in the basket.
Bathroom lighting, extra towels, and was clean.
Basement/ 1sr floor room had a sewer/ moldy smell the minute we got off the elevator. You walk by laundry and work rooms that have doors open and don’t look the cleanest and the hallways are dark. Ice machine doesn’t work and looks dirty and not taken care of. Person at the front desk appeared annoyed to have to check us in, out of coffee at breakfast. Iowa City is our half way point to Chicago and we often stop in Iowa City, but WE WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.
Location, comfortable beds
The bathroom door was noisy and disturbed sleepers. The bathroom should not be facing the beds. Normally, they would be around the corner. I will not book again for this reason.
Clean room, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast!
