Amon (I believe is the spelling ,maintenance) came within 5 minutes to fix our cable. Professional work, etiquette, and customer service was second to none that fixed our issue. Highly recommend him on customer facing basis when it comes to interacting with guests and their needs!
I just came back from what I thought was a great weekend at FanimeCon, only to discover a frustrating surprise on my hotel bill afterward.
As a Hilton Honors member, one of the reasons I choose Hilton properties is for the daily food & beverage credit. At check-in, the front desk confirmed there would be a $15 per person, per night credit. I was visibly checking in with my family — my wife was right behind me and I was literally carrying our child — yet somehow only one guest was counted for the benefit.
I specifically asked how and where the credits could be used, and we intentionally used the hotel restaurants during our stay. Later, I found out that two of the days were not credited because the orders were categorized as “in-room dining,” despite being ordered directly from the hotel restaurant. None of this was explained at check-in.
On top of that, Hilton Honors members are supposed to receive complimentary WiFi. Because the room was booked through the FanimeCon block, there was apparently a separate promotional code required. After the first night, our WiFi stopped working entirely. One of our guests was visiting from out of the country and ended up using most of their mobile data because the normal sign-in process (last name and room number) no longer worked. I eventually had to go back to the front desk to ask for the separate code we were supposedly already given.
Mistakes happen. What bothered me most was how the situation was handled afterward. When I contacted the hotel, the front desk employee insisted that all of this had supposedly been explained during check-in and implied that I either forgot or misunderstood. That’s simply not true.
If a second guest name was required for the dining credits, why wasn’t that clearly requested when my family was visibly present at check-in? If a special WiFi code was required, why wasn’t it proactively provided?
What’s especially frustrating is that none of these issues should have required this much effort to resolve. Instead of simply acknowledging the mistakes and correcting them professionally, I was left having to sort through billing discrepancies after the trip and being told that the problems had supposedly already been explained to me. That turned what should have been a very enjoyable stay into an unnecessarily aggravating experience.
It’s disappointing because the stay itself was otherwise enjoyable, but the combination of poor communication, incorrect billing, and then being made to feel like the issue was somehow my fault completely soured the experience.
had a great stay at the signia this past week for fanime, it’s within walking distance of the convention center and many amazing food spots. other amenities the hotel provides made my trip stress-free! mike from valet was very kind, helpful and took the time to explain their hourly+overnight rates.
Wonderful hotel staff, very accommodating. I want to give a shout out to Jaime and valet services in their parking garage.
Lovely pool
My room had a musty smell
Good location choice for a visit to the science museum or cathedral. Nice outdoor pool on the 4th floor. Great front desk and door staff.
Great walking distance to San Pedro Square, a beautiful basillica, and several museums.
Beautiful lobby and the room was large and comfortable. Very convenient location for restaurants and shows.
Location
Beds are rock hard. The pillows are thin. The room had water damage on the ceiling. Given the pricing of this hotel, I’d think they’d invest in quality beds/pillows
I booked this stay as a Mother’s Day gift and went out of my way to make sure everything would be seamless. I paid $450 in advance and called the hotel multiple times ahead of arrival to confirm everything was set.
Over the weekend, I noticed that a pool view room was actually priced lower than the standard room I had already booked. When I reached out, the hotel told me they couldn’t adjust anything and that I had to go through central reservations. That process was incredibly frustrating — the agent had me provide my credit card four different times and kept canceling the transaction because she couldn’t enter it correctly.
When my mom arrived to check in, there was complete confusion at the front desk despite having a confirmation number and proof of payment. At that point, it was clear nothing had been handled properly.
I then tried to contact a manager to resolve the situation and was met with a very unhelpful and dismissive response. The front desk associate repeatedly said she didn’t know the manager’s schedule and couldn’t direct me to anyone else. When I asked how I was supposed to resolve an issue like this — especially being on the other side of the country — there was no answer or sense of urgency. The tone also came across as irritated rather than helpful.
This experience was extremely disappointing, especially given the price point and expectations. Based on how this was handled, this is nowhere near a five-star experience. I honestly would have expected better service and organization from a two-star hotel.
Great hotel layout, large room, we had a corner room with 2 windows with a view, we arrived late and staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great at the hotel restaurant. We were right near 2 museums.
Toilet was a little old and was difficult to flush.
Thank you Millie for returning our lost stuffed "family member" that had fallen behind from our family adventures in San Jose! I'm so grateful that your team was able to bring him back to us!!!
Todo está muy bonito.
Te cobran el parking, aparte de la noche del hotel, tan caro y no incluír parking, es increíble.
