🐢The resort’s Christmas mood was tastefully done: warm lighting, subtle decorations, and a calm sense of celebration rather than chaos.
Check‑in was smooth and personal, with staff already aware of my preferences. It had the polished efficiency of a city luxury hotel, but softened by genuine Okinawan warmth. My room was all about **space, light and sea**. Floor‑to‑ceiling windows pulled the ocean into the room, and the balcony became my private box seat for Okinawa’s winter sunsets.
After the drive, the bed and linens were more than comfortable—they were truly restorative. What sets this Sheraton apart is its **sense of place**. Design touches, amenities and hospitality are distinctly Okinawan; this isn’t a generic beach resort that could be anywhere.
Breakfast continued that theme: a curated mix of Japanese and international dishes, never feeling rushed even at peak season. Despite being family‑friendly, the property remains remarkably tranquil, with enough quiet corners to feel almost private.
Staff consistently remember names, preferences and small details, in a way that feels thoughtful rather than scripted. Yes, it’s about four hours from the airport—but that distance is part of its charm. For a Christmas or year‑end escape, this feels less like a stay and more like claiming your own quiet piece of Okinawa.
There was a disappointing part is hotel didn’t have currency exchange service. The front desk staff asked me to change the money in convenience store.
Família Friend
This hotel is soooo much better than lots of the reviews report. The staff are excellent, friendly and work so hard. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday great. We were a little worried from some of the reviews that there may be a language barrier, but this wasn't the case - lots of the staff spoke good English which really helped us. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our time there. The infrastructure of the hotel is looking a little tired now, as other reviews correctly suggest - I understand there is a refurb taking place this winter. Lots of local restaurants to visit within easy walking distance from the hotel - we didn't have a rental car but this didn't impact our stay at all. Thanks Sheraton Okinawa!
Beautiful view and comfy beds for Japan.
Windy so unable to do a lot of the actives. Didn’t like how you had to pay for the beach chairs and the indoor pool.
Staff were fantastic. Clean property, plenty of activities to do.
A few more activities included in the price would be good
The facilities are great
Food, the restaurant is awful for an hotel like this. Totally overpriced meals with no class at all.
Great location and breakfast. Nice swimming and beach facilities.
For the price I expected better. Showing its age and layout of hotel for South tower is ridiculous! Walking through restaurants up and down floors. Was a bit crazy.
館内が広く、高級感があった
Location was excellent and staff were professional.
Facilities starting to show its age. After cleaning, always hair in the tub.
Beautiful location on the beach with fantastic facilities for families to entertain themselves and nice food options on site.
Location wise, I think guests need a hire car to really explore the area.
I read many reviews before we came here and I’m here to confirm some and dismiss other’s. Here’s my thoughts for what it’s worth.
While the resort has some areas that appear a bit older I wouldn’t refer to it as dated or rundown. It reminds me more of the atmosphere you get in tropical locations rather than a big city. We stayed in a deluxe, ocean view room in the main building. We walked over to the new South Tower and didn’t feel it would be worth the extra cost. We like being in the main building. Pretty ocean view from the lobby and many places to sit.
Senses restaurant had a great variety of Okinawa style foods to try in their lunch buffet. We will definitely be eating there again.
The beach/pool area has inexpensive food/drinks you can order and take to an outdoor table to enjoy. I didn’t find the drone to be bothersome. I thought it would be annoying but it wasn’t. It takes pictures of people zip lining.
Yes, Beach towels are indeed free for hotel guests. We bought the pass that covers the cost for 2 daily beach loungers with an umbrella. It’s not uncommon for hotels to charge for that type of service on the beach in my experience. No additional charge for Pool chairs and umbrella.
You can easily walk about a mile or drive/taxi to more reach more authentic Japanese restaurants.
*Everyone working in the hotel has been super polite and hard working and helpful to ensure your happiness and enjoyment. However only a few speak English. That’s ok! It’s their country! Everyone tries to work to understand.
Only negatives: Many young children are here because Japanese families seem to vacation here. Probably not good for romance/honeymooners.
There is a piano in the main lobby which kids can play even if they don’t know how. 😵💫 Would be good to remove it.
Overall we would stay here again!
