L’hôtel et les employés sont exceptionnels
Ras
The location is central (noisy) and the hotel itself is aesthetically well presented
I am INFURIATED that I’ve had to write this - it’s the first bad review I’ve ever written. But, having asked for a reasonable response to the hotel, I’ve been lied to and then ignored so here we are
The issues with the stay itself:
So loud with outside traffic I literally couldn’t sleep, which included using white noise to mask it. I live in London, I am used to noise, but this was ridiculous. We had to move rooms at 1am, where noise from the bar kept us awake even longer.
The broken internal cupboard light that kept switching on at random through the night and illuminating the whole room.
The broken phone.
The stench from the toilet.
The dirty sofas in the garden area.
The ‘sorry no’ to requesting a spare duvet (we later discovered that some rooms were unoccupied that night so there were spares).
The ‘resolution’ the next day:
None of the problems listed would’ve been huge on their own (except the noise) but this was an expensive 5* stay and not anywhere near expectations.
When I checked out, I did not start asking the receptionist for compensation. The receptionist appeared already to have been briefed about our experience and opened the conversation herself.
She disappeared for several minutes to apparently speak to someone before returning to tell me that, because the reservation had been made through Booking.com, it was not possible for the hotel to offer any refund. She was adamant that this was the case.
Instead, I was offered a jar of local honey.
I declined, as this did not feel like an appropriate response to the cost of the stay vs we had experienced.
I then suggested they offer us some hotel vouchers instead, as I understand Maison Albar is part of a wider hotel group. The receptionist again went away (for about 5 minutes) to speak with someone and returned to say that they *would* contact Booking.com to see whether they could offer us a 10% refund.
Only moments earlier, I had been told that a refund was impossible because we’d booked via Booking.com.
Posizione e gentilezza dello staff
Qualche arredo e pianta un po’ delabré
