Good, comfortable hotel
A bit dated
Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I've ever had in a 5-star hotel. Expectations and reality were completely different. The service absolutely does not match the level or the price, and the behavior of one particular staff member was simply unacceptable.
1. Check-in (a 40+ minute nightmare): I had a fully paid booking and immediately told the reception that I was pregnant and very tired from the journey. But instead of a quick check-in, a circus began. The hotel couldn't block a deposit from my debit card (despite the stay being fully paid!). The staff member, Elisabeth Kone, couldn't solve the problem herself and told us to wait for the manager. I suggested several solutions myself: take cash, or wait for my friend who was arriving later that same day and block the deposit from her card. But the manager only appeared after 20 minutes. The total waiting time for check-in was over 40 minutes. For a 5-star hotel, seeing a tired, pregnant guest and treating them like this is just disgraceful.
2. An emergency situation met with negligence and rudeness: On the day of check-out, we were expecting a package that had been delivered to the hotel. At that moment, we discovered my wallet was missing (either stolen or left in the car). It contained all my money, cards, and most importantly, our room key card. It was a critical situation. We went to the reception, explained what happened, and urgently asked for a spare key to get back into our room and check our belongings. And again, we were met by Elisabeth Kone. Even though she was aware of our situation (we had dealt with her during check-in), she didn't bat an eye and said, "Get in line," and proceeded to help another guest who had just approached with a simple question. No empathy, no understanding whatsoever. What's more, she was rude to us when we tried to insist on urgent help.
