Hier ist eine deutliche, sachlich formulierte Rezension, die hart in der Kritik ist, aber glaubwürdig bleibt:

Der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war leider eine große Enttäuschung.

Bereits bei der Buchung entsteht ein irreführender Eindruck: Online werden ausschließlich renovierte Zimmer präsentiert. Vor Ort musste ich jedoch feststellen, dass es auch unrenovierte Zimmer gibt – und genau ein solches habe ich erhalten. Das entspricht aus meiner Sicht nicht den Erwartungen, die durch die Bilder auf Booking.com geweckt werden.

Hinzu kamen zahlreiche Mängel. Die Klimaanlage ließ sich nicht regulieren. An meinem Anreisetag hatte es nur 11 °C und Regen, wodurch das Zimmer unangenehm kalt war. Auf meine Nachfrage wurde lediglich mit den Schultern gezuckt und erklärt, dass die Klimaanlage zentral gesteuert werde und aufgrund der warmen Temperaturen der Vorwoche auf Kühlbetrieb eingestellt sei. Eine Lösung oder auch nur der Versuch, eine Alternative zu finden, blieb vollständig aus.

Damit war es leider nicht getan. Die Toilette roch stark nach Kanalisation, und am nächsten Morgen gab es bis etwa 10:30 Uhr kein warmes Wasser. Für mich war das besonders ärgerlich, da ich um 10:30 Uhr einen geschäftlichen Termin hatte und somit nicht duschen konnte. Als ich das Problem ansprach, erhielt ich lediglich die Antwort, dass es “jetzt ja wieder warmes Wasser gebe”. Das kann ich jedoch nicht nachvollziehen, da ich das Wasser noch um 10:25 Uhr getestet hatte und es weiterhin kalt war.

Diese Summe an Problemen war letztendlich der Grund, weshalb ich meinen Aufenthalt vorzeitig beendet habe.

Besonders enttäuschend war jedoch der Umgang mit meiner Beschwerde. Vor Ort wurde ich an das Management verwiesen und mir wurde eine teilweise Erstattung zugesagt. Tatsächlich erhielt ich anschließend per E-Mail die Bestätigung, dass mir ein Teil des Übernachtungspreises erstattet werde. Nachdem ich jedoch meine Kontodaten übermittelt hatte, wurde jegliche Kommunikation eingestellt.

Not Bad, Not Great
Pros:

A mixed bag here.
The positives: the hotel restaurant is not bad. The wait staff is great. The food selection is good. It gets crowded too. I ate here twice and was satisfied. Front desk staff also very good and helpful.
The so-so: Breakfast is OK. Not sure what the yellow substance that they call "eggs' is. Coffee machines - why can't I get a big mug of black coffee in Europe? :)
The bad: the location. You can walk to a nice mall, Galeries Lafayette (?) with a big Carrefour and some restaurants. But you need a car, taxi or Uber to get into the center of Avignon

Im Flur, 2te Stock war es nicht sauber. Auf den Teppich waren überall Materialreste. Vermutlich sind die Tage davor Zimmer gestrichen und renoviert worden. Man hätte aber staubsaugen können.
