Small rooms for the price Quinta Real is charging
Great rooms
Lots of stairs - tough for the older family
Pretty expensive for what it is
The property is gorgeous. Gorgeous little gardens & plants everywhere. Beautiful building with history. Restaurant is very nice. The location is spot on, close to everything! Staff are very helpful but the best compliment go to the staff who cleaned our room. Very attentive & so very sweet!
The furniture in the room is dated & the bathrooms are old, a slight makeover is needed. The tiles are old & dirty, that dirt is just not coming off no matter how much you scrub it!
For the size of the hotel they don’t enough lounge chairs by the pool. We stayed 6 nights and we never were able to get one.
Highly recommend! Beautiful hotel in the heart of Oaxaca. We will stay again next time we find ourselves in Oaxaca!
Food was excellent. Service was top-notch. Shower is older, but has amazing water pressure. Very quaint and lots of character. Wonderful!
Location was very central. Gorgeous grounds and historical buildings. Charming and picturesque. Excellent service and food. Extremely clean. The shower is a little old but very clean and pretty ceramic tile. Amazing water pressure.
We were at a hotel for a wedding, and it was a beautiful, fun venue. The hotel is conveniently located (walking distance) to shops, restaurants, parks, and churches. The food was very good and the service was generally very good as well. We had one incident with a phone that was left at the restaurant, and even though it was in the possession of the restaurant manager, it was not returned or reported. Fortunately, we had a sound notification, but it was only when it was activated many hours later that it was given back.
The rooms were lovely, good size, clean, and well-stocked. If there is an event at the hotel, it can be noisy and make it difficult to sleep.
Beautiful building
Wedding party staying made it uncomfortable for other guests to enjoy facilities . Rooms need upgrading for its ⭐️ rating
The hotel is undeniably beautiful. The building itself is stunning, full of character, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring Oaxaca. The pool is also a real bonus, especially in the heat. On appearance and setting alone, it’s a very impressive place to stay.
The hotel feels like it is relying on its natural advantages rather than delivering a genuinely welcoming guest experience. Service was minimal and lacked warmth. In the restaurant, the waitress was quite abrupt when we asked for water to be sent to our room, and after asking three times for coffee on our first morning, what eventually arrived was very poor. This put us off using the restaurant or having breakfast there altogether, especially given how many excellent options there are nearby. There was also a constant turnover of events, with drilling and hammering as one event ended and another was set up, which detracted from the stay and gave the impression that events take priority over guests.
Zentrale Lage mitten in der Altstadt von Oaxaca. Schönes altes Kloster, schöner Pool.
Altehrwürdiges Hotel mit dem typischen Charm eines Klosters
The feel of this hotel is of many high class elite places. You pay for that and also for the amazing historic building with pool. Staff around the hotel were friendly. Reception area not all so amenable.
On checking-in I was unhappy my room was very dark and bathroom small. Certainly not the great 'Gran Classe' room I had expected from pictures. I asked if there were lighter and/or higher up rooms of any type, saying I would happily wait until later in the day. The reception man said there were no others but later I checked on the website I could see there were. So after returning to him he eventually found me 4 other options, all better than my room. I chose a far more suitable room on the higher floor.
I shouldn't have had to complain to be offered an alternative. A less assertive guests would have ended up with, in my opinion, a relatively poor, and very expensive room. There should have been more honesty about the options straight away. The excuse that all rooms are different so pictures from websites cannot be used as a guide is also poor. Photos create real expectations in guests, so if the pictures aren't representative then don't use them.
This hotel is located in a former convent right in the centre of the old town, it's location is fantastic. The building itself is lovely.
We originally chose a gran class king but it was a bit cramped and dark (not helped as we had 3 large suitcases!) And the bathroom was small. So we moved to a gran class with 2 double beds with a pool view which was more spacious with a newly renovated bathroom.
The pool area is very nice, pool itself was warm. But there are limited sun loungers (they could put more out) and the sun has gone by around 5pm latest.
Staff are very good with great service. There is no lift and a lot of steps due to the nature of the building, but staff will help carry stuff.
Breakfast was nice, more than enough to eat. Would recommend this hotel.
A beautifully restored historic building, with a lovely pool and spaces to relax.
A bit too “big hotel” vibe.
